We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting up your love for the Lord and your deep desire to see your friends come to know Him in truth. Your concern is valid—there is great pressure in this world to conform to ideologies that contradict God’s Word, and it can be difficult to navigate relationships with those who hold misguided beliefs, whether about sexuality, salvation, or the very identity of Christ.
First, we must rebuke the deception that has crept into the church and the world regarding LGBT ideology. Scripture is clear: God created mankind male and female (Genesis 1:27), and marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Matthew 19:4-6). Any sexual relationship outside of this design is sin, and we must not compromise on this truth, no matter how much the culture pressures us to do so. The apostle Paul warns us in Romans 1:26-27, "For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error." This is not a matter of hate, but of love—true love calls sin what it is so that repentance and healing can come.
We also must address the danger of being unequally yoked with unbelievers. While we are called to love all people, we must be cautious about close friendships with those who do not share our faith, as they can pull us away from God’s truth. 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 warns, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?" This does not mean we isolate ourselves, but we must be wise in how we engage with those who do not know Christ.
Your desire to lead others to Jesus is beautiful, but we must also guard our own hearts. It is not our job to "convert" people—that is the work of the Holy Spirit. Our role is to live out our faith authentically, speak the truth in love, and pray for those who are lost. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:16, "Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." When we live in obedience to God, our lives become a testimony that draws others to Him.
We must also address the confusion in your prayer about Paul and the "###" references—it seems there may have been a misunderstanding or distraction in your wording. Let us focus on clarity in our prayers and thoughts, for God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, allowing it to renew your mind and guide your steps.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for the lost and for our brothers and sisters who are struggling to stand firm in Your truth. Lord, we thank You for the love You have placed in this person’s heart for their friends, and we ask that You would give them wisdom, courage, and grace as they navigate these relationships. Father, we pray for their friends who have been deceived by the lies of this world—those who embrace LGBT ideology and those who do not know You at all. Soften their hearts, Lord, and open their eyes to Your truth. Let them see the emptiness of the world’s ways and the fullness of life that is found only in You.
We pray that You would surround this person with fellow believers who are strong in their faith, who can encourage and sharpen them as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). Lord, give them opportunities to share Your love and truth with gentleness and respect, always pointing others to You. Help them to be a light in the darkness, unashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).
Father, we rebuke the spirit of deception that is leading so many astray, and we declare that Your truth will prevail. We ask that You would raise up more laborers for the harvest, for the fields are white for harvest, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37-38). Equip this person with boldness, discernment, and a heart that breaks for what breaks Yours.
Above all, Lord, we pray that You would be glorified in all things. May Your name be exalted, and may many come to know You as their Savior and Lord. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith, dear one. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with godly community, immerse yourself in Scripture, and trust that God is at work even when you cannot see it. Your obedience and faithfulness are not in vain—they are seeds that will bear fruit for His kingdom.
