Humble Prayer Partner
It has been twenty three months of dealing with mental health, agoraphobia, anxiety, anger, depression and addiction with my adult child. He wouldn't leave the house, he called me a narcissist, he was angry, addicted to adderall and thc. I would like to praise Jesus for the prayers he has answered and ask for continued prayers for those he has has not.

Praises: He is starting to leave the house; every day he has been going with me to the park to walk the dog. I had to leave the house for a few weeks and in my absence he is walking 2 miles at the park by himself and there is a skateboard park at the park, some older people have started teaching him how to skateboard. (While it is great he is starting a new hobby, please pray he stays away from the "pot heads.") He is starting to drive his car again. He is saying no more social media. He is talking about finding and getting involved in a church. He has been taking new medication for about six months now that is helping. He got a gym membership! When I am home, he stays by me most of the day and vents/talks to me and is overall kind, with the occasional mood swings. He no longer has a desire to abuse drugs. He used to abuse caffeine. He is making progress and doing better with overusing it. He had a panic attack in the grocery store yesterday. Instead of going home, he fought thru it, decided it was the lighting and went to wal mart to buy sunglasses; then went to the gym and skateboarding. What a huge accomplishment! Thank you Jesus!

Prayers: He still has no job, no career, no desire to work. He says why would I wanna waste 8 hrs of my day exhausted just to give my money away, but yet he says he is bored all the time. Prayers for motivation, guidance and for the Lord's purpose to come to pass. Maybe a desire for him to get IT certifications; he is very tech savvy.... He is still struggling with medication side effects, severe sweating, feeling tired, a weird sleep schedule, mood swings. Prayers for healing, restoration and that the side effects of the new medication will flee. He has become hooked on AI so remove all addictions and desires for AI. Pray that his friends and sister will find favor with him and reach out and grow in their relationships. He hates being a part of this world and what it currently stands for. He doesn't think he can trust anyone and he has been fired from every job he has ever had because he is autistic and has no filter. That is where most of his lack of desire and fear comes from. Pray for peace. Have your way, Lord!

We rejoice with you and we give praise to Jesus with you for the chains that are breaking after twenty three long months of battle. What a testimony of God's mercy and power to see your adult child leaving the house again, walking with you and now by himself, driving again, putting away social media, talking about finding a church, going to the gym, learning to skateboard, and fighting through a panic attack instead of retreating. This is the Lord's doing and we thank Him for it. We see the hand of God restoring step by step.

We remember the word that says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3, and that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. That victory in the grocery store, choosing to get sunglasses and continue to the gym and the park instead of going home, is evidence that fear is losing its grip and self-control through Christ is growing. We praise God that the desire to abuse adderall and THC is gone and that even the overuse of caffeine is being brought under control. For it is written, All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of anything, 1 Corinthians 6:12, and No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it, 1 Corinthians 10:13.

We continue to lift him before the throne together in Jesus' name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we are saved, as it is written, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6.

We pray now for the areas where the battle remains. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for the progress You have already wrought. We ask You to complete the work You have begun. We ask for healing and restoration in his body and mind, that You would touch the side effects of the medication, the severe sweating, the tiredness, the broken sleep schedule and the mood swings, and give wisdom to his doctors to steward his treatment well. We ask that You break every remaining chain of addiction, and we specifically bring before You this new entanglement with AI. Help him to see that time and mind must be stewarded for You, that he would not be mastered by anything but would have his mind renewed, as it is written, Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, Romans 12:2. Lead him to replace hours given to AI with Your Word and with profitable work and fellowship.

Lord, we pray for his purpose and motivation regarding work. You ordained work from the beginning and You call us to labor faithfully. Your Word says, If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat, 2 Thessalonians 3:10, and Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23. We pray You would remove the spirit of fear and cynicism that says why waste eight hours only to give money away, and the boredom that comes from idleness. Replace it with a vision for diligence and stewardship. You have gifted him to be very tech savvy, and we pray You would give him a desire and discipline to pursue IT certifications or other training that would use the talents You gave him for Your glory and for his provision. Reveal Your purpose for his life, for we know Your plans are good, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11.

We pray for his heart toward this world and toward people. He hates what this world stands for and struggles to trust anyone, and he has been wounded by being fired from every job because of having no filter, which he associates with autism. Father, we know You fearfully and wonderfully made him, Psalm 139:14, and that You can teach him to bridle his tongue with grace and truth. Let his speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, and let him learn that A gentle answer turns away wrath, Proverbs 15:1, and that we are to let no corrupt speech proceed out of our mouth, but only what is good for building up, Ephesians 4:29. Heal the wounds of rejection and give him godly mentors who will be patient with him and teach him workplace wisdom and social grace without crushing the unique way You made him.

We pray for protection at the skateboard park and everywhere he goes. Your Word warns, Don't be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals, 1 Corinthians 15:33. Surround him with older men and peers who will model sobriety and strength, and keep him far from those who would draw him back to pot and drug use. We pray for his desire to find and get involved in a church, that You would lead him to a Bible believing fellowship where he will be discipled, where he will hear the gospel clearly and grow in faith and accountability. We pray for restoration with his friends and his sister, that You would soften hearts and bring reconciliation and that they would find favor with one another again.

We pray for his peace and for your peace upon this parent who has carried this burden faithfully for so long. We pray as You command, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. We pray You would teach him to trust not in man but in You first, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6, and that You would quiet his anxiety with Your perfect love, for perfect love casts out fear, 1 John 4:18, and Fear not, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10.

We thank You Lord that You have not finished with him and that You will have Your way. Continue this good work, break every remaining chain, establish his steps, give him a love for Your Word, a desire for meaningful work, and a future centered on Christ and, in Your timing, a godly marriage if it be Your will. We entrust him and this family to You and we pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We have been carrying your update in our hearts, ### months is a long road to walk with your son, and we are thanking God with you for every sign of chains loosening.

To hear he is walking the dog every day, driving again, trying the skateboard with others at the park, stepping away from social media and even talking about finding a church, that is real progress. And that day in the grocery store when panic rose and he did not go home but bought sunglasses and kept going to the gym and to skate, what courage that took. We celebrate that with you.

We also hear how heavy what remains feels. The lack of desire to work while also feeling bored, the distrust of others after being fired from every job, feeling autistic with no filter, hating what the world feels like right now, and the lingering sweating, tiredness, sleep struggles and mood swings. It makes sense you are asking for peace and clear direction.

Since you mentioned those medication side effects, we encourage you to keep his prescriber involved alongside prayer, sharing what you are seeing so they can monitor and help weigh next steps. You don't have to sort that part out alone.

For the work and purpose piece, it may help to keep the next step small and low pressure, maybe just looking together at what one introductory IT certification involves, since he is tech savvy, with no need to commit to a whole path yet.

Father, we lift this dear son and his mom to You. Bring continued healing, restful sleep, and relief from side effects, guide his doctors, guard his new friendships and protect him from old temptations, soften his distrust with safe community, and lead him step by step into the purpose You have for him. Give his mom strength and peace as she stays close. In Jesus' name, amen.

Great is the faithfulness of our God, and we rejoice with you in the mercies you have recorded. For twenty three months you have walked through a valley of anxiety and heaviness of heart, and now the Lord has given you tokens for good. That your son leaves the house, walks in the park, drives again, turns from social media, speaks of the house of God, finds kindness in his speech toward you, and has seen the desire for drugs and the abuse of stimulants broken, these are not small things. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves do not wither, and where His grace touches, the life blood is changed and the nature is made other than it was before. Give thanks that the Sun of Righteousness has risen upon him with healing in His wings, and that pardon and healing are found together in one blessed hand.

You tell us also of a great victory, that in the midst of a panic in the market he did not flee home but fought through it and went on to what was before him. Have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. When care is confined within ourselves it does no good, but when it is cast upon Him who cares for us, strength is given to stand. This endurance is itself a healing, and we praise the Lord who has wrought it.

Yet we hear your burden still, and we would carry it with you to the throne of grace. We will pray that the Lord will perfect what He has begun.

We will pray that He who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds will continue His healing work in body and mind, that the side effects which now afflict, the sweating, the weariness, the broken sleep and the sudden changes of mood, may be graciously removed or so sanctified that they become another thing under a Father's hand. A father may chasten his child, yet it is not as a judge condemns a prisoner, and the Lord's corrections are measured with love.

We will pray that the Lord will give him a purpose for his hands and a calling for his days. Idleness and boredom are a sore trial, and to hate the world and to distrust men is a heavy burden for any soul, and especially for one who feels keenly the wound of being misunderstood and cast aside. May the Lord show him that labour is not a wasting of life but a stewardship, and guide him, if it be His will, to use the skill he has in things technical for honest and useful service. May the desire to minister arise out of healing, for when Christ takes us by the hand and lifts us up, the soul longs to serve Him.

We will pray also that every chain of addiction may be broken, whether it be the old snare of drugs or the new snare of constant artificial voices that promise knowledge without wisdom. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, and His fruit is sweet and nourishing, able to displace every lesser hunger.

We will pray for restoration in his household relationships, that favour may be given with his friends and with his sister, and that peace may rule within. And we will pray that the good desire he has expressed toward the church may be established. The healing power was present when Christ was teaching, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Take heed how you hear, for to the attentive soul the Word becomes balm. May he be planted where Christ is faithfully taught, where Calvary is set forth not merely to wound but to heal, and where the great Physician is seen to be able and willing to save.

Child of suffering, be patient, God has not passed you over. Feeder of sparrows, He will furnish you with what you need. Hope on, hope ever. And to you who have watched and prayed so long, may the Lord renew your strength at the remembrance of pardoning mercy, and keep you from the folly of anxious care that profits nothing. May He who has begun to heal keep healing, and may He who has forgiven keep forgiving, till the whole man is restored to health and to the service of his Saviour.

We join you in thanksgiving and in supplication, asking all in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is exalted to give repentance and forgiveness of sins, and in whose name alone is salvation.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We rejoice with you in what the Lord has already done and we thank you for sharing this burden so openly after twenty three hard months. God has heard your prayers and we see His mercy in these steps forward. Your son leaving the house daily to walk the dog, walking two miles on his own, learning to skateboard, driving again, turning away from social media, talking about finding a church, showing kindness and staying close to you to talk, overcoming the desire to abuse drugs and making progress with caffeine, joining a gym and above all pushing through a panic attack in the grocery store instead of retreating, these are real victories. We praise Jesus with you for each one, for He is the one who brings healing and restores strength day by day.

We also see how your faithful prayer has helped him, as the faith of a parent can greatly help a child. Continue to bring him before the Lord with confidence, for God delights to answer the persistent prayers of those who love Him.

We join you now in prayer for what remains. We ask the Lord to give your son purpose and motivation for work, and to guide him into a calling that fits the gifts God has given him. If it is the Lord's will for him to pursue IT certifications and use his skill with technology for good, we pray God will open that door and give him steady desire and discipline to walk through it. We pray for healing from the side effects of his medication, for relief from sweating and exhaustion, for a healthy sleep pattern and for steadiness in his moods. We ask God to free him from every lingering addiction, including the pull toward AI, and to help him use every tool with self control and wisdom. We pray for restored relationships with his friends and his sister, that they would reach out and that trust would be rebuilt. We pray for deep peace for a young man who feels he cannot trust anyone and who hates what he sees in the world, and who has known the pain of being fired and misunderstood. May the Lord show him that his worth is in Christ, that he is fearfully and wonderfully made, and that God has a good plan for his life.

As you continue to walk with him, keep the Word of God central in your home. When you return from worship or from your walks, open the Bible together as a family and talk about what you have heard, so that the encouragement you receive is not lost when you go back to daily life. This habit will build him up far more than any passing counsel. And gently encourage him toward useful work, for Scripture teaches that work is good for us and honors God, while also reminding us not to grow weary in doing good as we help those who struggle.

We pray that the Lord will keep him from harmful influences at the skate park and everywhere else, and that He will lead him to a faithful church where he will be known, taught, and encouraged. May the Lord continue the good work He has begun, bring complete restoration, and fill your home with His peace.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, we thank You for the progress we have seen. We ask You to finish what You have started in this young man's life. Give him health, soundness of mind, purpose in work, wholesome friendships, and a heart that seeks You above all. Give his mother continued strength, patience and hope as she loves him. Let Your will be done in both of their lives. Amen.

I had a friend I grew up with but he has been a major obstacle in my life. I even feel like he has stolen 18 years of my life from me. I am asking God if he can please break the soul tie between me and him, but I don’t know if He did or how I could know if He did.
