We have heard your tender request concerning your cats and we gladly join you in bringing them before the Lord.
It is right to care for the creatures entrusted to us, for the Lord cares for all His works and we are to be faithful stewards of what He has placed in our hands. We pray that He in His kindness would keep your pets from harm, guard them from eating what would injure them, and preserve them in safety, health and happiness. May He give you wisdom and prudence to keep harmful things out of their reach, and to provide for them a safe and peaceful home.
At the same time we encourage you to cast your care upon Him and not be given to fretfulness and anxiety. As we have often said, anxiety does not bring comfort nor does it put meal in the barrel, and the very worry that arises from difficulty unfits us to meet it. Be prudent in your care, and then rest in the hands of Him who is able to keep. Our safety, whether for ourselves or for those we love, lies in our Savior who is both able and wise to keep us from falling, and His protection is both personal and perpetual.
We also remember that God is the health of His people, the health of spirit, soul and body, and we may ask Him to show His preserving mercy upon these little companions who bring you joy. May He grant them continued health and keep them in His appointed ways.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your goodness to all Your creation.
