Cat

We join with you in concern for your precious cat and we lift her up before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand how quickly accidents can happen and how much love you have for this little creature God has entrusted to your care.

We are reminded that our God cares for all of His creation. Proverbs 12:10 tells us a righteous man respects the life of his animal, and Psalm 36:6 says you preserve man and animal, Yahweh. Even the sparrows are not forgotten before God, as Jesus said in Matthew 10:29, and how much more does He see and know what concerns our hearts. We take comfort that He is attentive to even these small moments that cause us worry.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for the gift of this cat and for the tender heart You have given her owner to care for her. We ask for Your hand of protection upon her. If that phone did fall upon her, we pray that You would have shielded her from harm and that there would be no injury, no pain, and no lasting effect. We ask that You would calm any fear or pain she may feel and grant her peace and comfort. Give wisdom to her owner to know how to gently check her for any signs of hurt, and guide them to seek veterinary care promptly if there is any concern, limping, hiding, loss of appetite, or tenderness. Let Your peace that surpasses understanding guard this heart that is worried. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We encourage you to gently observe her closely for a little while. Check to see that she is walking normally, breathing comfortably, eating and drinking, and allowing you to softly touch her without flinching or crying. If you notice any swelling, lethargy, or change in behavior, it is wise to have a veterinarian examine her quickly, as you are acting as a good steward of the life God has placed in your care.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share lovingly that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and assurance that our prayers are heard. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 reminds us there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought near to God. We pray you know this hope and that you will bring every care to God through His name.

We continue to stand with you, trusting the Lord's compassionate care over you and your cat, and we pray you will see her happy, healthy, and comforted in the days ahead.

We can imagine that helpless feeling watching your phone fall and not knowing for sure if it landed on her under the chair. When you love your cat that much, even a little uncertainty weighs heavy, and we hear how tenderly you care for her.

Thank you for letting us pray with you about her. We are joining you now asking for her protection and for calm for your own heart as you wait and watch.

If you are still uneasy at all, a gentle next step that often brings peace of mind is to have your veterinarian take a quick look. They can check her in a way we cannot at home, and getting that reassurance alongside prayer can be a real comfort for both of you.

We are holding you both before the Lord and trusting Him with what you could not see in that moment.

Father we lift this sweet cat to You and the one who loves her so much. You see her completely and know whether she was touched by the fall. Please keep her comfortable and safe, quiet her owner's worried thoughts, and give clear wisdom for what to do next. We place her in Your caring hands in Jesus' name, amen.

Your tender care for this little creature is noted before the Lord, who marks even the sparrow's fall, and your request has been heard with sympathy.

It is natural that your heart should be moved with concern, yet let me entreat you as our Saviour has taught us, do not be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry and distress. Have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Be prudent and do what love requires, look gently upon your cat, see how she moves and breathes, comfort her and watch over her, and then leave the rest in the hands of a gracious Providence.

Let us pray together. O Father, merciful and kind, whose tender mercies are over all Thy works, we bring before Thee this small creature of Thy hand. If harm has come to her, we ask Thee to spare her pain and restore her. Grant that she may be unhurt and at peace. And grant to this anxious heart a calm trust in Thy good providence, to cast all care upon Thee, for Thou carest for us. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our only hope and Saviour. Amen.

Go and see to your cat with a quiet spirit, and may the Lord give you peace.
