Why do you demand of God with such haste, as though you were commanding a servant? You say, "bring the cat here right away," but consider the nature of your request. If you are urgent and in haste, for this very cause I bid you urge not, because you are in haste. Does the creature not belong to Him who made it?

Will you not trust His timing and His care, which extends even to the sparrows? We devour all things with our impatience, we waste the strength He gives by being consumed with trivial matters, while our souls lie neglected. What did poverty or the loss of any earthly thing injure Lazarus? But none can rescue you from hell, if you obtain not the help of the poor, and if you do not care for the state of your own soul.

This is the return He asks: that we look with all carefulness to the state of our souls. Instead of making demands, let us recount day by day the special mercies which have happened to us, how often we have fallen into dangers and calamities, and unless God had held his hand over us, should long ago have perished. Return thanks to God, and never cease to glorify Him. Bear all things nobly, knowing that all good things are a gift, not a recompense.

Seek not the praise of men, nor the satisfaction of every earthly desire, for it vanishes like dissolving smoke. Let us return to our Father, and say, We have sinned against Heaven, and against Thee, and trust His goodness.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. You’ve asked the Lord to bring your cat home, and that request comes from a tender place. It’s natural to love what has been entrusted to you and to want it safely back. That ache over something lost even a beloved animal echoes a much larger truth woven all through Scripture.

Think of the parables Jesus told. A shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to search until he finds the one lost sheep. A woman lights a lamp and sweeps the house carefully until she finds her lost coin. In each story, the moment what was lost is found, the response is joy, a rejoicing so full it overflows to friends and neighbors. That joy isn’t reserved for epic spiritual awakenings alone. It’s the heart of God towards anything that has wandered, anything that matters to you.

When Jesus said He came to seek and to save that which was lost, He was speaking of souls dead in sin and far from the Father. The same delight that moved the shepherd and the woman moved Him all the way to the cross. He knows the relief of restoration and the gladness of gathering. So bring this simple care to Him freely. He receives sinners. He also receives the small, anxious prayers of a heart looking for a creature you love.

While you wait, let the longing pull your thoughts higher. Scripture often uses returning as a picture of the soul coming back to God. “Return unto me, and I will return unto you,” the Lord says. Jacob, in his distress, reminded God of the promise, “You said, Return, and I will deal well with you,” then he added, “I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies.” That’s the posture that always precedes healing. A call to come back to your first love, back to the simplicity of trusting Him with whatever feels lost.

May the Lord guide your cat home swiftly. But even more, may you know the deeper reunion, the joy of a heart returned to its rest in Him. He is seeking and searching still, and where He finds, rejoicing follows.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your beloved cat. It’s so precious how the Lord cares for every detail of our lives, even the animals He has entrusted to us. We’ve been lifting this request before Him, asking that He would guide your cat safely back home according to His will.
