Casting our cares on the Lord and leaving them with Him is a crucial step in our walk with Jesus Christ. It's wonderful that you're seeking to put this into practice. When we give our burdens to the Lord, we should indeed stop worrying about them, knowing that He is more than capable of handling our concerns. The Scriptures tell us:
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 WEB
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 WEB
First, we acknowledge that God cares for us deeply. When we pray, we should come to Him with thanksgiving, knowing that He is good and that He hears our prayers. We lift up our concerns to Him, asking for His will to be done, and then we leave those concerns at His feet.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who desires to cast all their cares on You and leave them there. Lord, help them to trust in Your goodness and Your power. Help them to be anxious for nothing, but to come to You with thanksgiving, knowing that You hear their prayers and that Your peace will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Remind them that You are faithful and true, and that Your love for them is everlasting. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, it's natural for thoughts about our concerns to come to mind, but we should refrain from dwelling on them constantly. Instead, turn those thoughts into reminders to praise God and trust in His will. If you find yourself worrying, turn that energy into prayer and intercession.
As for thinking and meditating, set your mind on things above, not on things that are on the earth. Colossians 3:2 WEB
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 WEB
It is important to always end prayers IJN or in Jesus Name as it is only in His name that we can come to God.
