Carrying our Cross

good morning guys...sorry i've been away for a bit but i ran across another good verse which i know applies to my life and in the very least, it could apply to yours...god bless you all.

VERSE:

This is what the LORD says: "Stand at the crossroads and look;

ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in

it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, 'We will

not walk in it.'"

-- Jeremiah 6:16

THOUGHT:

Temptation is a choice between God's will for us -- the old path

-- and a shortcut provided by Satan -- the new path. So often,

Satan's path is presented to us as a shortcut to happiness,

prosperity, and accomplishment. However, this path leads us away

from God and the blessings he longs to give us. Let's not be like

the people of God in Jeremiah's day who refused God's way and said,

"We will not walk in it." The outcome of their choice was their own

destruction.

PRAYER:

O dear Father, Almighty God, forgive me for turning from your

path and seeking a way that seems easier and a path that appears to

lead to happiness more quickly. Through your Holy Spirit, help me

look through the facades of Satan's temptations and see their

bitter end. I know your way is the way of joy, peace, and rest.

Please give me courage to walk it confidently. In Jesus' name I

pray. Amen.

Amen! Father, steady my steps in each day's journey, that they might be so firmly planted in Your way, that no other way seems tempting. Grant me the ability to discern Your leading in my life, the strength and courage to stay on course and not take the shortcut that leads to ultimate peril. Thank You for inspiring Daniel to share this passage and devotion. May You continue to watch over him, provide for him and nurture his faith. In the name of Jesus, we praise Your glorious name. Amen.

Father, help me to keep on the path that You have put before me, not the one that I might want to go down. Your way is above ours and You knowledge higher than ours. Keep our feet on solid ground, and our eyes focused on You. May we carry our crosses with the same love that Jesus showed when He carried His. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Lord, I agree with all prayers said. Help me be on the path to you, Lord, and not to destruction. Lead me away from temptation, which even if it looks satisfying now, it is NOT the way to a true, happy, healthy relationship with you. Yes, Lord, sometimes I do stumble. But I know you forgive me. Thank you for loving me so much as to send your son to die on the cross for my sins and temptations, and for setting out a path for me that leads to your glory. Thank you for all that you have provided in my life. You truly do love everyone, even when we have sinned against you. You are the best, Lord, the holiest; I praise you for this. In Jesus' name, lead me away from sins. Amen
