We hear your heartfelt cry and join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, giving thanks first for His faithfulness in answering your past prayers. Your praise to Jesus is a beautiful reminder that He is our Provider, our Advocate, and our Strength in every trial. We are grateful you have found this community to stand with you in prayer, and we echo your prayer for all who have interceded on your behalf, may the Lord bless them abundantly and meet their every need according to His riches in glory.

Father, we come before You now concerning this carer payment situation, knowing that You see every detail and care deeply about justice, mercy, and provision. You declare in Your Word, "The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9). We ask You to intervene in this matter, softening the hearts of those making decisions about these payments. Lord, You know the financial strain this places on your child and the difficulty in finding faithful care at a fair wage. We pray for wisdom for the authorities involved, may they act with compassion and fairness, recognizing the true cost of care and the value of those who serve.

You command us in Proverbs 3:27, "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it." We ask that You move in this situation so that your daughter is not burdened beyond what she can bear and that the payments reflect the true need and effort required. Father, we also pray for discernment for you, help you to navigate this with integrity, as you desire to be honest in all things. Give you the words to speak and the courage to stand firm in truth while trusting God for provision.

We must also address the concern about having someone in your home who may not be fully engaged in their duties. Scripture reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12, "Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody." It is right to expect that those who serve do so with diligence and respect for your home. We pray that if this arrangement continues, the Lord would send someone who is faithful, compassionate, and hardworking, someone who honors both you and the Lord in their service.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be trying to take hold in this situation. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that You are our Provider, and we trust You to open doors no man can shut and provide in ways we cannot yet see. Whether through an increase in payment, a reduction in the contribution required, or another unexpected blessing, we believe You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel if possible, perhaps from a local church or a Christian organization that can offer practical advice or advocacy in this matter. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." You do not have to walk this path alone.

Finally, we pray for peace to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May you rest in the knowledge that the Lord fights for you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). We stand with you in faith, believing that God will make a way where there seems to be no way.

Heavenly Father, we lift this situation to You now, trusting in Your perfect timing and provision. We ask that You would move mightily on behalf of [redacted] and her daughter, bringing clarity, fairness, and relief. May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may Your peace reign in their hearts. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who intercedes for us at Your right hand. Amen.

We’re so grateful you shared this with us, and that you began with praise. It’s clear you trust God deeply, even while you’re feeling the weight of this practical burden. The direct payments system can feel like a maze, and we understand how stressful it is when the numbers simply don’t add up, especially when you want to handle everything honestly.

You’ve already named the core needs: fairness for your daughter, a care arrangement that truly serves you, and a clear conscience. One concrete step you might take is to contact the direct payment support team at your council and ask for a financial reassessment, plainly explaining that your daughter doesn’t have the £40 a week to contribute. Many councils have hardship provisions or can adjust the budget. You don’t have to navigate this alone, a local carers’ centre or Citizens Advice can often help you prepare the paperwork and speak up for you without cost. If the person currently in your home isn’t actively helping and just sits taking up space, you have every right to request a change of care worker or to clarify exactly what duties you need done. That’s not unkind, it’s being responsible with the support you’re given.

We know it’s hard to advocate for yourself while managing day‑to‑day needs, but we sense your desire to be honest and above board. That honors God, and it will lead to a more settled conscience. Keep talking to Him openly about each step, asking for wisdom about what to say and when. He leads gently and practically.

Prayer: Father, thank You for carrying this request already and for the ways You’ve answered before. We lift up this direct payment situation now, give wisdom and favor in every conversation with the council. Please move the hearts of the decision‑makers so that a fair, workable solution is found quickly, one that doesn’t crush this daughter’s finances and that provides the genuine, attentive care that’s needed. Calm any anxiety and give clear next steps. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In Jesus name. Amen.

It is ill when it shows itself in a perpetual fault-finding with all that Providence appoints, in always grumbling that we are left out in the cold as if in every distribution of Divine love we came in for the last portion and the least share and were doomed to be the forgotten ones of the family. And I must, in all honesty, grant that this form of the vice has sometimes the appearance of being the most excusable of the whole. "What shall I do," we are apt to say, "in case I should be laid aside and a precarious income should suddenly come to an end? It is not for myself, alone, it is for my wife and numerous family that I am chiefly concerned, how would they be provided for?" Many a man lies awake at night desiring to increase his income, not because he is ambitious to be rich, but because he is haunted with the fear of being poor. Gifted, perhaps, for the present with competency, he is still scared with dire forebodings, "What will become of my family if I die?" "Or should such-and-such a source of income be dried up, and it is very precarious, what, then, will become of my household? What then?"

I do not know what hinders you, but this I do know, there is a worm somewhere eating out the heart of that fair looking apple. Some private sin that you pamper is destroying your souls! Oh, that you had Grace to give it up and to come in by the strait gate, trusting in Jesus Christ! You say you want to be honest; what should you do? Hesitation and wavering can answer no purpose, but a prompt decision is, in every way, commendable. Such ought the decision of every one of us be, and I earnestly wish that it were so. The righteous shall keep God's way and so Job did, come fair, come foul. When there were others in the road with him and when there were none, he kept His way.

What faith had he? First, he had faith in Jehovah. It was faith then, faith alone, that enabled the Prophet of Sinai to arrive at his decision and to carry it out. Our second point is this, MOSES EXHIBITED A CLEAR DECISION. Oh, that the Spirit of God would work the like in all of us! If you could lay aside your religious profession and begin again, would you still make today the decision which you arrived at when you were young? Oh yes, we can say and do say, We have lifted our hand unto God and we cannot go back. That resolve on the part of Joshua was openly declared. I am not able to see what is the good of a decision, however firm and deep, if it is never asserted!

I could scarcely ask for any of you a better thing than that you should fully know, in your own spirit, the horribleness of sin as far as your mind is capable of bearing the strain. The man does not die by a wound that stabs his reputation, but by a secret weakness within him which eats at the vitals of godliness and leaves the outward surface fair. God save us from declining! He demanded a decision and rightly so. Can either earth or Heaven be quiet while such a matter is in suspense?

We are not to think He does this by Inspiration, or of dreams and visions, for if none were sons of God but those who receive these, surely many of the very best of the Divine Family would lose their title to sonship! God grant that Prayer Meetings may begin to be better attended, that family prayer may be more regarded and that private prayer may be more diligently and more spiritually maintained. Those who have been quickened and made to live, and introduced, therefore, into the family of God, have one mark, one never-failing mark. They all have it, and none others ever have it. It was one cold morning and there was no fire to warm himself by, nor for his little family, and this text came again and again, "All things are yours."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
