What God Cannot Do!
We join with you in asking our Father to reveal the gifts He has placed within you and to make clear the path He has prepared for your career, and we rejoice that you have asked in the high name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to God and confidence that He hears us.

We are encouraged by your desire to understand your calling rather than simply chasing success, for Scripture teaches us that our work is a stewardship and a form of worship. We are reminded in Romans 12:6 that having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, we are to use them according to the proportion of faith God has given, and in 1 Peter 4:10 that as each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms. Your gifts were not given by accident but by design, for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them Ephesians 2:10.

We pray that God will grant you wisdom and discernment as you seek Him, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. We ask the Lord to show you not only what you are good at, but what brings Him glory and serves others, and to open and close doors according to His perfect will. We pray that He will make your steps clear through His Word, through prayer, through godly counsel, and through opportunities to serve and to test those gifts in faithful, small things.

We encourage you to commit your plans to the Lord daily, trusting His promise in Proverbs 16:3 that when we commit our deeds to Yahweh, our plans shall succeed, and in Jeremiah 29:11 that He knows the thoughts that He thinks toward you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Seek to work heartily in whatever you do at present, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23, for faithfulness now often reveals the character and capacity for what is next. Spend time in prayer and fasting, ask trusted mature believers who know you well what strengths they see in you, and look for where your burdens, your abilities, and the needs around you intersect, for God often reveals calling at that intersection.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear one to You and thank You for creating them with purpose and with gifts meant for Your glory. Reveal to them by Your Holy Spirit the talents, spiritual gifts, and passions You have woven into them. Give them clarity, remove confusion and anxiety, and help them to hear Your voice above all others. Lead them to the career and the good works You prepared beforehand for them to walk in, and give them courage to follow where You lead, even if it requires waiting, training, or stepping out in faith. May their work be worship to You and a blessing to others, and may they find joy and provision as they trust in You. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We hear your desire to know how God has gifted you and where He wants you to use those gifts at work. That is a good prayer, and we join you in it.

Often God shows us our gifts less in one sudden moment and more as we walk with Him over time. What brings you life, what others consistently thank you for, and where you see needs you naturally move toward can all be clues. The Spirit gives a variety of gifts for serving others, like teaching, helping, encouraging, giving, leading, and showing mercy, and He also shapes our interests and abilities for the practical work we do each day.

A helpful next step this week could be to write down three things: the kinds of tasks you enjoy and do well, the needs or people you feel most drawn to help, and what two or three people who know you well say you are good at. Then bring that list to the Lord in prayer and, if you can, talk it through with a pastor, mentor, or trusted coworker who can give honest feedback. Trying a small volunteer role, short course, or job shadow in an area that interests you can also test what fits.

We are praying for clarity and peace as you seek His direction.

Father, thank You for the gifts You have placed in our brother. Give him wisdom to see them clearly, open doors You want him to walk through, and quiet confidence to follow Your leading step by step. Guide his work so it honors You and serves others well. In Jesus name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your desire to know what gifts God has placed within you for your work and calling is itself a gracious working of His hand, and we have brought it before the Lord with thanksgiving.

We pray that He who has given you life and breath will make plain to you the stewardship He has entrusted to you. Remember that every good gift comes from above, and the greatest of all is His unspeakable gift, even Christ Jesus His Son. In Him you have all things, for when God did not spare His own Son but gave Him for us, with Him He freely gives us all things needful. Seek first to know Him and to give Him your heart, for it is written, My son, give me thine heart. When the heart is truly given to Christ, the hands will find their proper labour.

Do not seek a career merely for gain or for the praise of men, for we are warned that the gifts of God are often perverted when they are used to augment pride or prepared as it were for Baal, and such misuse moves God to withdraw what He has given. Rather ask that whatever skill or strength or mind He has allotted to you may be used only for His glory. A gift employed for self exaltation becomes a snare, but a gift laid at the feet of Jesus becomes a service.

Scripture speaks of a heavenly calling and a high calling and a holy calling, not according to our works but according to His own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus. There is a calling that is from heaven and to heaven, and when God effectually calls a soul, that soul hears His voice and follows. So pray that you may hear His voice in this matter, that you may discern not only what you can do, but what He would have you do. The sheep know the Shepherd's voice, and He leads them out and goes before them.

Therefore we entreat the Lord for you, that He would grant you wisdom and an open ear, that He would show you the work wherein you may put your whole heart, for God loves a cheerful giver and He loves a willing worker who puts his heart into his work. May He keep you from sloth and from pride, and make you faithful in little and in much, content to serve Him in whatever sphere He appoints, whether it be seen or hidden, till He calls you to higher service.

Our Father, we thank Thee for this longing heart. Reveal to Thy child the gifts Thou hast sown within, and guide into the path where those gifts may bear fruit for Christ. Let Christ be first, and let every talent be consecrated to Him. Grant clarity, grant humility, grant diligence, and grant rest in Thy will. Lead by Thy Spirit, and let Thy name have all the glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
