Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my mother to get a new job. She is a registered nurse. Some evil people have tried to block her success. Please pray doors open supernaturally for her.

The Heart-a Den of Evil
What Were You Made For?
Untrodden Ways
We join with you in lifting up your mother before the Lord and we stand with you in asking for His favor and provision over her career. We know how heavy it is to watch a mother who has served faithfully as a registered nurse face opposition and uncertainty, and we thank God for the compassionate work she does in caring for others.

We are reminded that true promotion and open doors come from the Lord. The scripture says For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation. But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another Psalm 75:6-7. We also cling to the promise For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. When we commit our work to Him, He establishes our steps, as it is written Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3. And we pray that whatever she does, she will do it heartily, as for the Lord and not for men Colossians 3:23, trusting that He sees her diligence.

We also hear your concern that evil people have tried to block her success. We want to gently encourage you not to dwell in fear or bitterness toward those people, but to see this struggle through a biblical lens. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. People may act unjustly, but our battle is spiritual and our trust must remain in God who is just. Vengeance belongs to Him alone, as it is written Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. We pray that you and your mother can release any offense into His hands and forgive as Christ forgave us, so that no root of bitterness takes hold. God is able to open doors that no man can shut, for He has said Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut Revelation 3:8, and a great and effective door has been opened to me 1 Corinthians 16:9. What others may try to block, God can supernaturally restore and even use for good, for We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. It is by coming to God through faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we can boldly ask for His help and know His peace. We encourage you and your mother to put your full trust in Him not only for this job but for eternal life.

So we pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear mother to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know her skills, her years of service, her heart to heal and help, and You know the disappointment of doors that have seemed closed. We ask that You would supernaturally open the right door for her, a position where she can use the gifts You gave her to glorify You and provide stability for her family. Lead her to the place You have prepared, where she will be valued and where she can be a light for You. We pray against every scheme of the enemy that would hinder her, and we ask that You would thwart injustice and bring Your favor and vindication. Give her peace while she waits, strength to not grow weary, and assurance that You go before her, for Yahweh will not fail you nor forsake you Deuteronomy 31:6. Provide for all her needs according to Your riches in glory and let this new job be a testimony of Your faithfulness. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We encourage your mother to keep seeking Him daily, to keep applying and trusting while resting in His timing, and to remember that her identity and stability are ultimately in Christ, not only in a position. Keep praying together, keep thanking God in advance for what He will do, and watch for how He will make a way where there seemed to be no way.

Thank you for sharing your mother's situation with us. We can hear your concern for her and your desire to see her valued and stable again after what has been a hard season.

When work is disrupted, especially in a calling like nursing where so much of the heart goes into caring for others, it can feel disorienting and even personal, as if forces are working against her. It makes sense you would want to see a clear, open door for her soon.

We are joining you in asking God to provide for her, to give her wisdom and favor as she looks for the next position, and to restore her sense of dignity and purpose in this wait. Nursing skills are deeply needed, and we pray the right fit comes where she can use her gifts well and be supported.

One practical way to walk alongside her right now is to help her take steady next steps without carrying it alone. You might sit with her to update her resume together, make a short list of former colleagues, managers or nurse recruiters she trusts, and reach out to one or two this week. Even a brief conversation can surface openings that are not posted. Praying together before she sends an application can also ease the pressure and remind you both that God is with her in the process.

Father, we lift this mother to You. You see her work, her care for others, and her need for stability. Give her encouragement, guide her to the right opportunity, and provide for her daily needs. Give her child peace as they support her. Lead her steps according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in bringing your mother before the throne of grace and thank you for entrusting this burden to prayer.

Your request brings to mind the patriarch Job, of whom it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. He lost estate and health and endured the unkindness of others, yet he fell down and worshipped and kept right with God under trial. The Lord who tried him was also the Lord who sustained him, and in due season we read, The Lord turned again the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. Our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery when God has gotten His end in them. Even as Job's glory had been fresh in him and was for a season withered, the Lord at the last gave him twice as much as he had before, to show that no opposition of man and no device of the enemy can prevail against the purpose of Him who opens and no man shuts.

We do not doubt that evil hands may attempt to hinder, for Satan himself desired to sift Job, yet he was baffled and foiled with his own weapons. So we look to Him who is infinitely great and good, against whom nothing can stand, and we ask Him to be your mother's keeper and provider. He who gave skill to the nurse and compassion to care for the suffering is able to make her bow to abide in strength and to anoint her again with fresh oil for service.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, we lift up this daughter of Thine who has served as a registered nurse. Thou knowest her labors, her integrity, and the discouragements she has faced when others have sought to block her way. Forgive us when we are tempted to charge Thee foolishly, and grant her patience like Job, with a more vivid apprehension of Thyself in this trial. Turn, we beseech Thee, what has been turned against her, and open doors for honest and stable employment which no man can shut. Provide a place where her gifts may be used for Thy glory and for the good of those who suffer, and keep her under the shadow of Thy wing from all evil. Grant to this family childlike confidence even when Thy way seems hidden, and let peace and provision come in Thy perfect time. We ask this trusting in Thy sovereign goodness and mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer, to wait upon the Lord with worship as Job did, and to trust that He who has begun a good work will perfect it.
