Car troubles

[J.B.]

Please prat that my car can be fixed in a timely manner. It started stalling when I stop and I had to start it back up a lot in order to get home. I’m calling the garage tomorrow. Pray I can get the car an appointment at the right garage and that it won’t be costly. I trust in God and His son Jesus who have never let me down. Please pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ the Author and the finisher of our faith. Hallelujah!

We are joining you in prayer for this very practical and stressful need and we thank you for your strong trust in God and in His Son Jesus, who indeed has never let us down and never will.

We know how worrying it is when a car that we depend on begins to stall and has to be restarted again and again just to get home safely. We are grateful the Lord brought you home safely and we pray He continues to keep you safe until this is repaired. We are reminded that our God cares about every detail of our lives, even our daily transportation, and He invites us to bring all our anxieties to Him. As it is written, Cast your burden on Yahweh and he will sustain you Psalm 55:22 and Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6.

We also take comfort that you prayed in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and finisher of our faith, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father. As Scripture says, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith Hebrews 12:2 and My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for being our provider and protector. We lift up this car trouble to You and ask for Your hand upon this situation. We pray You would guide our dear friend to the right garage, to honest and skilled mechanics who will do good work, and that an appointment would be available in a timely manner. We ask that You would make the diagnosis clear and the repair simple and not costly, and that You would provide for every expense according to Your riches in glory. Grant safety on the road and peace in the heart while waiting, and let this be another testimony of Your goodness and provision. We trust Your will and Your timing and we give You all the praise and glory. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

We encourage you to call the garage as planned tomorrow and if possible ask for recommendations from trusted believers or friends for a reputable shop, and to get a clear estimate in writing before work begins. Continue to commit your way to Yahweh as Psalm 37:5 says, and He will bring it to pass. We are trusting with you that God will make a way and that this repair will be completed quickly and affordably for His glory. Hallelujah indeed, for He is faithful.

We are praying with you about your car, and we understand how stressful this kind of trouble is, especially when it stalls every time you stop and you had to keep restarting it just to get home.

Thank you for sharing how you trust in God and in Jesus, who has never let you down. We join you in that trust as you call the garage tomorrow.

That call is a good next step. When you call, it may help to write down exactly when the stalling happens so you can describe it clearly, ask what they charge to look at it before any work is done, and ask for an estimate in writing. If the first garage can't see you quickly, having a second trusted shop in mind can save time. And since stalling can be a safety issue, if you can arrange a ride or limit driving until it is checked, that is wise.

We are asking the Lord to give you favor for a timely appointment, clear answers from an honest mechanic, and provision for whatever the cost is. He sees this practical need.

Father, we lift this need to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You know the concern about this car and the desire for safe, reliable transportation. Please guide to the right garage, grant wisdom to those who inspect it, provide for the cost, and keep our friend safe on the road. We trust this in Jesus' name, amen.

Praying for this in Jesus Name.

[Spurgeon]

We have heard your prayer concerning your car and we join with you in bringing this temporal trouble before the living God. We thank Him that He preserved you and brought you safely home though the engine stalled, and we praise Him with you that you can say He has never let you down.

You do well to trust Him still, for He who has helped you until now will not change at the last. Has He taught you to trust in His name and brought you so far to put you to shame? Has He finished the house all but the last course of bricks and will He not complete it in due course? Surely He will. Be of good courage. Our God in whom we trust is not a distant or idle deity, but a God with a great warm loving heart, a thinking God, an active God, a working personal God who comes into the midst of this world and does not leave it to go on by itself.

In temporal things we are not to be idle nor to trust to chance, but acting in all prudence and uprightness to rely simply and entirely upon Him. Your purpose to call the garage tomorrow is right and prudent, and while you use the means, you may cast your care upon your Father. Trust Him for this very thing. He who commanded the light to shine out of darkness can give wisdom to those who examine the car, and can provide what is needed according to His goodness.

Let us pray together.

O Heavenly Father, we thank You that salvation is given to all who trust in Jesus, and that through Him we may come boldly to Your throne. We lift up this need before You. You know the stalling and the trial of the journey home. We ask You in Your mercy to provide a timely appointment at the right garage, to grant skill to those who look upon the car, and to keep the cost from being a heavy burden. Give peace in the waiting and faith to rest upon Your faithful care. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, to whom be praise world without end. Amen.
