We join you in thanking the Lord for His preserving hand upon you in the rain upon the highway, that no harm came to your person though the road was perilous. It is right to give thanks for such mercies, for every preservation is from Him who watches over His people and whose eye is ever fixed upon them.

You ask that truth may be brought to light concerning this incident, and we pray with you to that end. The Lord is a God of truth who hates falsehood and will not suffer a lie to stand forever. Have you never used false words, the preacher asks, and has your heart always gone with your tongue. So we exhort you to walk in simple honesty before God and before men, speaking the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, keeping a clear record of what was said and done, giving to the officer and to the company only what is true without exaggeration and without fear. Men may be clever to make the worse appear the better reason and to prove an absurdity, but God will vindicate justice. There is more vindication of His justice in the cross of Christ than can be seen in all other places, and He who justified sinners through the blood of His Son will also in His providence clear the righteous from every false accusation. We pray that what was done in secret, whether a rolling back or an old dent claimed as new, and any claim of infirmity made for advantage, may be made plain, and that no false witness may prosper against you.

You feel the tearing of the enemy, and you say rightly that Satan is attacking. As one coming to Christ the devil may throw you down and tear you, for such is the comer's conflict with the enemy of souls. Yet it is written, He is able to save to the uttermost all who come unto God by Him, and whosoever cometh He will in no wise cast out. Tell the adversary this word and rest upon Christ alone for your justification, not upon any self justification which condemns itself, but upon that true justification which is by faith in Jesus Christ and which proves itself by a changed and honest life. The conflict within and without shall continue till our dying day, for the Spirit and the flesh war against each other, but the crown of victory belongs to Christ who has fought the great battle and who will strengthen you in the Lord for every duty.

Concerning your labor under scrutiny and your conflict with your manager, we pray that the Lord would strengthen you in the Lord for the work of this week, that you may visit your accounts with diligence and faithfulness and make appointments as you are able, doing all as unto the Lord and not unto men. Pray for grace to be reconciled where there is friction, to answer with meekness and to show forth a spirit of respect and patience even when you feel crushed and unappreciated. If the culture has changed and you are not treated with respect and not paid according to your worth, it is lawful to seek other employment and we pray that God in His providence would open a door for a new position in His time and according to His wisdom, yet while you remain, serve faithfully and leave vengeance and vindication to Him.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, Thou hast preserved this Thy servant upon the highway and we bless Thee for it. Bring forth truth as light and expose every falsehood. Guard this one from unjust claim and from the devices of covetous men who would speak smooth things for gain. Grant wisdom in dealing with police and with the company, and give favor and peace where there is scrutiny and strife. Soften the heart of the manager and help Thy servant to act with grace, diligence and integrity. Provide daily work and daily bread, and if it be Thy will, provide new labor where gifts may be used and worth rightly regarded. Strengthen this weary one in the Lord against the attacks of Satan, and keep this soul resting only in the righteousness of Christ. In Jesus name we ask, Amen.

We join you in thanking God for his protection over you on the highway in the rain, and we hear how troubling and confusing this incident has been. God sees what happened in that moment when you were not even pressing the gas, and he knows the truth when human accounts conflict. We pray that he will bring what is true into the light and guard you from any false accusation.

We ask the Lord to go before you in this car matter. Where there is no damage and where a claim does not fit what could have happened, we pray that the facts will be made clear through proper witnesses and records. Scripture teaches that every matter is established by the testimony of two or three witnesses, and we pray that the police report, any available camera or dash footage, and the honest examination of both vehicles will show the truth. We pray for wisdom as you communicate with your insurance company, that you will be able to give a clear and calm account, keep copies of everything, and not be pressured into accepting blame for an old dent or for medical claims that are not truthful. We ask God to protect you from fraud and from anxiety, and to give you peace knowing that he is your defender when you are accused.

We also lift up your work situation to the Lord. We understand the added stress of having to report this while already feeling under scrutiny, and the pain of feeling crushed and not valued by your manager. We pray that God will soften hearts and bring reconciliation where there has been conflict, that your manager will see your diligence and your worth, and that you will be treated with respect and fairness. We ask him to help you work with steadiness and grace this week, to open doors for appointments and to make your labor fruitful. If it is his will to provide a new position where your gifts are honored and you are paid justly, we pray he will make that way clear and provide for you. We trust that he knows your needs and that he rewards those who walk uprightly by freeing them from constant anxiety and rivalry.

We hear you say Satan is attacking, and we remind you that Christ is greater. The enemy seeks to use accusation and discouragement to wear you down, but God is your refuge and will not abandon you when you are dragged into conflict. We pray that you will rest in Christ, cast your cares on him, and continue to act with honesty, patience, and kindness, waiting quietly for the Lord to vindicate what is true rather than rushing into strife.

Father, we thank you for sparing our friend from harm. Reveal the truth about this incident, protect from any deceitful claim, and let justice be done. Grant favor and peace at work, heal the relationship with the manager, provide for daily needs, and if it is your will, open the door to new employment that honors you. Guard this heart from fear and give strength to do good work each day. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, Amen.

Your thankfulness to God for protection in the rain is the right place to begin, and He hears that gratitude. That there was no damage and you were kept safe on a wet road is His mercy, and it is right to ask Him now to bring the truth into the light concerning what happened behind you.

What you describe is deeply unsettling, the confusion of a gentle tap when your foot was not on the gas, the claim of a dent that could not have come from your car, the difficulty communicating, the withholding of license and insurance, and then the mention of a serious medical history to the police. It is understandable that you feel targeted and anxious about a false claim, and also burdened because this delayed your work and added strain to a job where you already feel scrutinized and undervalued.

Scripture gives us a background for seasons like this that we cannot see at first. In the book of Job, which reaches back perhaps to the time of Abraham and is one of the oldest books we have, we are shown that there is an unseen conflict. Satan had been watching Job closely, studying him and forming a strategy, looking for weak points. He argued that Job only honored God because God had placed a hedge of protection around him and blessed him richly. God permitted a testing within limits He set, but Satan could not go beyond what God allowed.

Cultures and times have changed since then, yet the deepest issues of life have not. The same needs, fears, and questions that Job voiced are still with us today. Like Job you may not understand why this pressure has come at this moment, when your work culture has shifted and you feel crushed and unappreciated by your manager and are longing for a new provision. It can feel as though God has stepped back, but His Word shows that He is still working even when it appears He has forsaken us. That truth is meant to comfort those who walk through a Job-like trial after him.

Job did not curse God or charge Him with wrong, though he did not understand His ways. He cried out honestly from his pain. We must remember that many of Job's anguished words about his suffering were not God speaking, but God faithfully recording what a grieving man said. They are not doctrine to build our view of life and death upon. What is true doctrine is that God is fair and just, that He sees all, and that He will finally require truth.

Job's friends came to comfort him but became miserable comforters. They insisted he must be hiding sin and told him to get right with God and all would be well, accusing him of hypocrisy without knowing his heart. In the end God reproved those friends and showed that their counsel was not right. People around you, even a manager who misreads you, may draw quick conclusions without knowing the facts. God knows the facts. He saw the car in front of you, He knows whether it rolled back, He knows the origin of that dent, and He knows the intent of every heart. Ask Him to establish the truth through the police report, through clear documentation, and through your insurance, and keep a careful, truthful record yourself.

The counsel that finally helps is not to justify ourselves before people but to acquaint ourselves with God and be at peace, to receive His Word into our hearts and trust Him. That does not mean being passive about practical steps. Be diligent to follow every proper procedure with honesty, to provide what is required to the authorities and your company, and to speak the truth calmly without exaggeration.

I am praying with you that God will go before you and make the truth plain, that no false claim for property or medical harm will stand, and that you will be protected from any scheme against you. I am praying that He will give you wisdom and favor in the conflict with your manager, that He will soften hearts, allow your faithful work to be seen clearly, and guard you from discouragement. I am praying that He will order your steps this week, help you to serve your accounts effectively and to make the appointments you need, and that in His perfect timing He will open the right door for new work where you are respected and properly provided for, if that is His will. Above all, I pray He will give you patience like Job is remembered for, not because waiting is easy, but because you know the One who watches over you is just, present, and able to restore and vindicate in His way and time.

May the Lord keep you in His peace as you trust Him, and may you know that even in this testing you are held within the hedge only He can set. In the name of Jesus, amen.
