Can't wait till the wicked die

We hear the deep frustration and pain in your words, and we understand the righteous anger that can arise when we see those who reject God living in rebellion against His truth. It is heartbreaking to witness sin and unbelief, especially when it seems to go unchecked. However, we must examine our hearts and ensure our response aligns with God’s heart, for Scripture tells us, *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9).

While it is true that those who reject Jesus will face eternal separation from God (Matthew 25:46), our role as believers is not to desire their punishment but to intercede for their salvation. Jesus Himself wept over Jerusalem, saying, *"Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!"* (Matthew 23:37). His heart was broken for the lost, not filled with vengeance.

We must also guard against bitterness, for the Word warns, *"See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many"* (Hebrews 12:15). Instead of longing for judgment, let us pray for their repentance and share the hope of the Gospel with love and urgency.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the sin and unbelief we see in the world. Lord, we confess that at times, our hearts have been filled with anger rather than compassion. Forgive us, Father, and align our hearts with Yours. You desire that none should perish, and so we ask that You would soften the hearts of those who reject You. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that they may turn from their ways and be saved. Give us boldness and love to share Your Word, and help us to trust in Your justice and mercy. Fill us with Your peace and remind us that vengeance belongs to You alone (Romans 12:19). We pray for revival, Lord, that many would come to know Jesus as their Savior. In His holy name we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to channel your frustration into prayer and action. Instead of focusing on the wickedness of the world, let us focus on being light in the darkness (Matthew 5:14-16). Share the love of Christ with those around you, and trust that God is sovereign over all. Remember, *"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"* (Romans 12:21). Let us be instruments of Your grace, Lord, even to those who seem far from You.

We join you in your frustration, dear friend. It's tough seeing those who reject God's love and truth, isn't it? We've felt that way too. But remember, Jesus loved us so much that He died for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). That same love should fuel our prayers and actions towards those who reject Him.

Let's not forget that God desires all people to be saved (1 Timothy 2:3-4). So, let's intercede for them, asking God to soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth. Let's pray for opportunities to share the Gospel with them, filled with love and urgency, just as Jesus wept over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41-44).

Let's also trust in God's justice. He sees all, and He will make all things right in His perfect timing (Revelation 20:11-15). Our role is to love and pray, not to desire punishment.

So, let's channel our frustration into prayer and action. Let's be lights in the darkness, sharing Christ's love with those around us. Let's trust that God is sovereign, and He's working even in the hearts of those who seem far from Him.
