My mom's best friend, Joan, was recently admitted to the hospital with severe stomach pain. They did multiple tests and discovered a tumor in her colon as well as a spot on her liver. They aren't completely sure if it's cancer, but that's the diagnosis they're leaning towards. She's going in for surgery tomorrow to remove part of her intestine. They'll be doing a biospy to see if the tumor is cancerous. On Tuesday they'll be doing a barrage of tests on her liver to try to determine if the spot is cancer, a blood vessel, or something else. What makes the situation worse is that Joan's family has been going through a rough time, and a lot of the stress of the situation has been falling on her.

My mom is devastated. It's especially hard for her because we live in Illinois and Joan lives in New Jersey. My mom has really been struggling with being away from Joan and now that Joan is sick it's even harder for her.

Please pray for healing, strength, and peace for Joan. I'm not sure if she's saved or not, so please pray for her salvation as well. Also, please pray for wisdom for Joan's doctors and skill in her surgeon's hands. And please pray for strength and peace for my mom as well. She's extremely upset and I hate to see her like this.

Lord I lift up Joan in this difficult time. Surround her with your healing hands. Give the doctors with wisdom to help heal Joan. Be with her friend as well and give her peace that Joan is in your hands, and that you will watch over her and her doctors. Lord, be with Joan's salvation as well if she hasn't given her life to you that you would use her friends and family to bring her closer to you. I pray that you would bring strenght to this family in this time of need. In your holy name I pray.
