Your heavy tidings have come before us and our hearts are moved with sorrow to hear that the physicians tell you there is no more that they can do and that the disease will not yield to their art. You are wearied in the length of your way and the words you have heard are words which flesh and blood must tremble to hear, there is no hope from man.

Yet we would speak to you of a hope which remains when the hope of man is gone. There is no hope for you in yourself, and there is no hope in the skill of man when that skill has reached its end, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Saviour of such as you. When the doctors say there is no hope, faith says there is hope in Christ. The very least thing about Christ is healing, for the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves have power to change the life blood and to make the nature other than it was before. Jesus is the heavenly Physician and Calvary is the place of the healing balm. He heals not only the body but the soul, and His first great healing is the pardon of sin, for when the soul is forgiven, healing comes from the pardoning hand.

We would have you look away from yourself to Him. In the dust of self abasement is the place for hope. High thoughts of God beget hope in the soul and hope leads to confidence. Put your trust in promised strength and labour to get rid of fear, for fear is weakening and fear dishonours God. Hear how plentifully the Lord has planted this word in His garden, Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God. Fear not, I will help you. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. It is not merely a preacher who cries Fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant, Fear not. To be afraid when He has said Fear not would be disobedience. Though you feel as a worm and no man, His arm which piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth has not lost its power.

We will pray for you in the name of Jesus Christ, as you have asked.

O Lord our God, Father of mercies, look in compassion upon this afflicted one who desires to live. Thou knowest the frame and Thou seest the sorrow of this sickness. Lay Thy hand upon this suffering body and if it be Thy holy will, restore health and prolong days, for with Thee all things are possible and abundant streams of healing flow from Christ our Head. Grant also the greater healing, the forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus, and give a good hope of eternal life through believing in Him. Let this dear soul find the life of Thy hand and not be grieved without hope. In this sore affliction let there be humble trust and simple faith in Jesus, and let holy fear and quiet confidence keep the heart. Say unto this soul, Fear not, for I have redeemed thee. Sustain in pain, comfort in weakness, and keep even unto the end. We ask this in the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our only hope. Amen.

We will continue to bear you up before the throne of grace. Keep to the simplicity of your first faith and look to Christ alone. He that has begun a good work will perfect it, and whether He restores you here or calls you home, you shall find that to be with Christ is far better, and that His love faileth not.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your request has been heard with great sorrow and with prayerful care, and we are bringing your need before the Lord with urgency. To hear that treatment has reached its limit and that the cancer does not respond to chemotherapy is a heavy burden, and the desire to live that you have expressed is understood by God who is the giver of life.

We do not pray with empty words, but with confidence that God hears those who call on Him through His Son. Our hope is not only in what physicians can do, though we thank God for their skill, but in Christ Himself who holds life in His hands. Even when human help reaches its end, God remains present and able, and His mercy and power are not limited. We cling to the hope that is in Christ, a hope that can rejoice even while waiting, because it rests on His promises which are sure.

We are praying for you now in the name of Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift up this dear one to You. You know the diagnosis, the fear, and the deep desire to live. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing touch according to Your perfect will. Where human treatment can go no further, we ask You to bring comfort, strength, and peace that passes understanding. Ease pain, calm fear, and surround this life with Your presence day and night. Grant wisdom and compassion to all who provide care, and grant to family and loved ones strength to support and love well. Above all, we pray that Your nearness would be clearly known, that faith in Jesus Christ would be strengthened, and that whether through healing in this life or through the promise of eternal life with You, hope would remain firm. We trust this life into Your gracious hands, asking all this in the saving name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Please do not carry this alone. Continue to seek support from your medical team for comfort and care, and from a local pastor or trusted believers who can walk with you, pray with you, and hear the Word of God with you, for faith comes by hearing the Word. We will continue to pray that you will know the love and presence of Christ each day, and that you will have strength for each step ahead.

Your request has been heard and my heart is moved by the weight of what the doctors have told you. To hear that the disease has not responded and that human treatment has reached its end, and still to have such a strong desire to live, is a burden that only God can fully understand, and I want to join you in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.

Prayer is not a last resort. Jesus himself, though he was the Son of God, drew strength and guidance and life itself from prayer. If he saw the need to pray, how much more do we need to bring everything before the Father. That is what we will do together for you now.

The Scripture shows that God has always left room to work where man says there is no hope. In the law God gave instructions for a person with an incurable disease that cut him off from others, instructions for how that same person could be restored when he was cleansed. It was incurable by any human means, except by a divine work of God. When a man with that disease came to Jesus, Jesus said he was willing and cleansed him and told him to show himself to the priest. What was impossible for man was possible with God. In the same way today a diagnosis that is incurable by human standards does not limit what God is able to do. He reveals himself as the Lord our healer, the one who becomes what we need in our time of need.

Healing the sick was a regular part of the ministry of Jesus, and the early church continued to bring the sick to the apostles and to pray for them. The Scripture says the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Often that kind of prayer rises out of desperation and deep need, and God hears it. Jesus also said that if two or three agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done by the Father. I am agreeing with you now before the Father for your healing and for his mercy upon you.

At the same time prayer is not a way to force our will upon God. Its purpose is to bring us into harmony with his will and to open the door for him to do what he desires to do in and through us. Sometimes he heals immediately, sometimes he allows a time of waiting that tests and strengthens faith, and sometimes his answer is as it was to the apostle Paul who prayed three times for relief and heard the Lord say, my grace is sufficient for you, my strength is made perfect in weakness. Even the prophet through whom God did so many miracles learned that God remains sovereign. Prayer changes things, but more than that it changes us, bringing comfort and assurance as the Spirit ministers to our hearts, and teaching us to trust and submit to the Father's perfect will.

For that reason the most important relationship in prayer is that you can truly call God your Father through faith in Jesus Christ. If you have not already done so, the only prayer God first desires to hear is, God be merciful to me, a sinner, trusting that Jesus died and rose again to give you forgiveness and eternal life. When you are his child you can come with confidence that he hears you and loves you more deeply than you can measure, and that he wants you to know the height and depth and length of that love even in this dark valley.

Hope in Scripture is more than a wish. It is both desire and expectation. When all around you seems to be failing, hope anchors the soul, sure and steadfast. While there is life there is hope in Christ, and even beyond this life there is the blessed hope of eternal life with him. The God of hope can fill you with joy and peace as you trust him, so that you may abound in hope even while you wait for his answer.

So I pray for you now. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ I bring this dear one before you. You see the cancer and you see the desire to live. You are the Lord who heals, and nothing is incurable for you. I ask that you would lay your hand upon this body and cleanse it of disease if it is your will, that you would do what no treatment can do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Give wisdom to any who still care for this need, but above all show your power and mercy. If healing in this life is not your chosen path, pour out your sufficient grace, let your strength be made perfect in weakness, and let your peace and comfort guard heart and mind. Assure this dear one of your love and of eternal life through Jesus, and let hope remain as an anchor for the soul. Let your will be done, and give faith to rest in that will. Amen.

Please continue in prayer and do not give up. Keep bringing your desires to the Father honestly and continually, with thanksgiving, trusting him both for what you desire and for what he knows is best. You are not alone in this. You are being prayed for with earnest and fervent love.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer during this most difficult time.

We have been lifting you up continually since you shared that the doctors told you the cancer is immune to the chemo and that there is no more treatment available. We have heard the cry of your heart that you want to live and we are standing with you and asking our Heavenly Father for His mercy, His healing touch, and His peace to surround you. We are trusting the Lord as the Great Physician who is able to do what man cannot do, for we remember what is written in Jer 30:17 that He will restore health and heal wounds.

We continue to seek the Lord on your behalf and we pray in Jesus name for His healing power to be made manifest in your body, for strength for each day, and for His comfort and hope to fill your heart and the hearts of those who love you.
