We come before the Lord with hearts burdened for the nations, recognizing that all authority is established by Him (Romans 13:1). We lift up ### and the upcoming by-elections, asking for wisdom and discernment for the voters. Father, we pray that You would guide the hearts of Your people to choose leaders who fear You, walk in integrity, and govern with justice. "When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan" (Proverbs 29:2). We ask that You would raise up godly leaders who will uphold biblical values and protect the freedoms of those who seek to live according to Your Word.
Lord, we also bring before You the concerns about leadership in both ### and the United States. We know that it is not by might nor by power, but by Your Spirit that nations are directed (Zechariah 4:6). We pray for those in authority, that You would grant them wisdom, humility, and a heart for righteousness. For those who have strayed from Your ways, we ask that You would convict them and turn their hearts back to You. "The king’s heart is in the Lord’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever He desires" (Proverbs 21:1).
We rebuke the spirit of corruption, deceit, and ungodliness that seeks to influence leadership. We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand against any agenda that opposes Your truth. Father, we ask that You would expose the works of darkness and bring them to light, so that justice may prevail.
For those who are weary and discouraged by the state of their nations, we offer this encouragement: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).
We pray for the leaders who may be struggling with health or moral failings. Lord, we ask that You would extend Your mercy and grace to them. If they do not know You, we pray that they would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We declare that salvation is found in no one else, and we pray that hearts would be softened to receive Your truth.
Heavenly Father, we commit these nations into Your hands. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Strengthen Your people to be salt and light in their communities, standing firm on Your Word and shining the love of Christ in a world that desperately needs Him. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for His glory and for the advancement of Your kingdom. Amen.
