Silas
Beloved of All
I hear the weight in your words, and I’m so sorry you are carrying such pain and loneliness. You need to know right now that someone does care. More than that, God has not turned away from you.
The feeling that God doesn’t care is often born when the burden is crushing and no relief seems near. But many of the burdens we drag along are not ones He placed on us at all. We have a way of heaping them on ourselves, or letting others stack them on our shoulders, until we can hardly breathe. Then we look up and blame the Lord for the weight that is driving us under. That is as old as the human heart, and it is never true of His character.
Look at what He has actually done. When we were still tangled in sin, He sent His Son, not for the righteous, but for the ungodly, to provide a way back into fellowship with Him. Jesus bore the judgment for every wrong so that you could stand before God with no fear and no shame. If He went that far to secure your peace, He has not suddenly forgotten you now. The cross is the proof that His love for sinning, failing people is real and personal.
The very fact that you are crying out tells me you do want help. Jesus himself calls out, “Take my yoke upon you. My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” He isn’t asking you to drag the same crushing load. He invites you to exchange it. The life of depending on Him is meant to be the most satisfying, refreshing way to live, not a road to a breakdown. Sometimes we set demands on ourselves that He never made, or we try to carry things alone that were always meant to be handed over to Him in prayer.
David, when he was hunted and afraid, poured out his need and then declared, “God is my helper. The Lord is with those who uphold my soul.” He turned the problem over and then stood in confidence, not because the trouble vanished instantly, but because he knew whose hands were holding him. You can get to that same place. Tell Him all of it right now, the loneliness, the pain, the empty feeling that nobody sees. He is not asking questions because He lacks information; He opens us up so we can finally lay the burden down.
I am going to pray and fast for you, asking God to lift this pressure and let you feel His nearness. You are not invisible. You are not forsaken. The hope we have in Christ is certain, and you can rest in that even when your emotions are in turmoil. Trusting Him pleases Him more than any perfect performance ever could. So start there: tell Him you are putting your whole weight on His promise. He will hold you up.
