We stand together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who commands the winds and the waves, and we lift up this urgent plea for the calming of the Pacific storm. Your Word declares in Matthew 8:26, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. Lord, we take authority in Your name, just as You have given us, and we speak peace over these turbulent waters. "Peace! Be still!" we declare, trusting in Your power to bring calm and protection.
Father, we recognize that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus (Matthew 28:18), and we stand as Your Bride, the Church, against which the gates of hell shall not prevail (Matthew 16:18). We thank You for the privilege of partnering with You in this work, as You have called us to be helpers (Genesis 2:18) and stewards of this earth until all things are restored (Acts 3:21). We ask that You diminish this tropical storm in the Pacific and push it away from land, sparing lives and livelihoods. Calm and quiet all tropical storms across the world, Lord, and let Your peace reign over the seas.
We pray for the people in the path of this storm, that You would grant them wisdom (James 1:5) to prepare as faithful stewards. Provide the finances and resources they need for supplies, and give them grace to take necessary precautions. Strengthen federal and local authorities, as well as first responders, to be vigilant and effective in their duties. Let fear be replaced with faith and fervent prayer, for we know that the prayer of the righteous avails much (James 5:16).
Protect Your people, Lord, from all forms of evil—whether it be sin (Luke 11:4), the evil one (John 17:15), or the schemes of wicked men (2 Thessalonians 3:2). Lead us by Your Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14), and guide us in Your ways. We trust that You work all things together for Your purpose (Ephesians 1:11), which is ultimately for our good (Romans 8:28). May this storm be an opportunity for Your glory to shine, for lives to be saved, and for hearts to turn to You.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other name through which we can approach You, and we thank You for the access we have through Him. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
