Beloved Servant
Please pray for me as I am trying to start a business but I think I have overworked myself a bit as I'm starting it (among other things that may be causing me to have problems with exhaustion). I really can't afford to take a break until it starts being profitable as my family depends on me for income so please pray. Please also pray I wouldn't harm myself from drinking too much coffee each day to stay awake for work. Thank you.

We have heard your request and we are bringing you before the Lord together in Jesus' name, asking for His mercy, strength, and wisdom over you, your family, and this new business you are working so hard to build.

We understand the weight you are carrying, feeling that your family depends on you and that you cannot afford to stop even though your body is exhausted. God sees your diligence and your desire to provide, and He honors hard work. As it is written, Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3 and Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. Yet the Lord also teaches us that our strength does not come from endless striving or from relying on anything else to keep us awake, but from Him. It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones Psalm 127:2. Jesus Himself invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls Matthew 11:28-29.

We want to gently encourage you about relying on excessive coffee to stay awake. Your body is not your own to harm, it is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. To push beyond what your body can bear and to depend on so much caffeine that it could harm you is not glorifying to God and will not help your business or your family in the long run. We encourage you to seek moderation, to steward your health as a gift from God, and to trust Him for the energy and clarity you need, rather than trusting in coffee. True rest, proper sleep, water, nourishment, and Sabbath rest are part of God’s design for us from the beginning, Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy Exodus 20:8, and even Jesus said to His disciples, Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile Mark 6:31.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name not only for your business and your health but for eternal life. When we bring our requests in His name, we come with confidence that God hears us.

We also want to remind you that while God calls you to work diligently, He also promises to provide for your family as you seek Him first. Don’t be anxious, saying, What will we eat? or What will we drink? But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:31,33 and My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. Your business is in His hands, and He can make it profitable in His timing. We encourage you to commit your plans to Him daily, to set wise boundaries around your work hours, to allow for sleep and rest, to reduce your dependence on caffeine, and if needed to seek wise counsel or medical advice about your exhaustion.

We are praying for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up our brother to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know his exhaustion, his burden to provide for his family, and his desire to make this business succeed. Lord, we ask You to forgive us where we have trusted in our own strength or in things like excessive caffeine rather than in You. Grant him wisdom to steward his time, his health, and his business well. Give him restorative sleep and renew his strength, as You have promised that those who wait for You will renew their strength. Protect his body from harm and help him to honor You with how he cares for it. Provide for his family according to Your riches, and let this business be established on honest work that glorifies You. Teach him to rest in Your grace and to seek Your kingdom first, trusting that You will add what is needed. Lead him to salvation and deeper fellowship through Jesus Christ, and let him know the peace that surpasses all understanding as he casts his cares on You. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We have been thinking about your note and the weight you are carrying right now. Trying to get a new business off the ground while your family depends on you is a lot to hold, and it makes sense you feel exhausted and stretched thin. Wanting to keep going without a break comes from a good desire to provide, and we also hear your concern that the pace and the amount of coffee you need to stay awake may be wearing you down.

One thing that helps to remember is that ongoing overwork and little sleep can quietly build until the body starts to signal it needs attention, and caffeine can mask that signal for a while without restoring what you need. Since you mentioned exhaustion and worry about harm from coffee, we would gently encourage you to see your primary care doctor or clinic soon, alongside prayer, to talk honestly about your energy, sleep, and caffeine use and get personalized guidance. If you have a trusted person, a family member, mentor or pastor, it could also help to let them know how stretched you feel so you are not carrying the planning alone.

We are holding you and your family before the Lord.

Father, we lift this brother to You in Jesus' name. You see his diligence, his love for his family, and his weariness. Give him wisdom for his work and his health, provide for his family's needs, and lead him to helpful support and care. Guard his body and give him true rest. Amen.

Your request has been heard with much sympathy, and we bring your burden before the Lord with you.

You speak of weariness, of a body pressed by long labor and of a family that looks to you for provision, and of the temptation to sustain yourself by that which may itself do you harm. This is a heavy yoke to bear, and we do not lightly pass it by.

Hear the word of our Lord Jesus, who says, I will give you rest. It is a present rest, rest now, not only rest after death or after probation, but rest given when we come to Jesus, given there and then. And it is perfect rest too, not incomplete. There is also a rest which is found when we take His yoke upon us and learn of Him. The first is rest given, the second is rest found. The one comes by coming to Christ in faith, the other by learning of Him in obedience.

True rest to the child of God is not rest with the yoke off, but with the yoke on. It is rest on the wing, rest in motion, rest in service. We are to enter upon this service voluntarily, to take His yoke upon us voluntarily, and to learn of Him who is meek and lowly in heart, and so we shall find rest unto our souls, a deep rest, a growing rest, an abiding rest which we go on to find more and more.

We who have believed do enter into rest. That rest is pictured by Canaan, and it is also the rest of laboring for the Lord Jesus, for it is rest to labor for Him. Trust and you shall rest. Rest in the Lord Himself, not merely in anything about the Lord, but in the Lord Himself, in union and communion with Him. This rest is in another aspect contentment, perfect satisfaction with our earthly lot, for ambition spoils rest and the constant greed of gain puts rest out of the question.

Therefore we pray for you in this way.

We ask the Lord to give you that given rest which comes by believing, and that found rest which comes by learning of Christ, that your soul may be fixed and quiet even while your hands are busy. We pray that He who abundantly blesses provision and satisfies the poor with bread would provide for you and for your family, and give you wisdom to steward the strength He has lent you. Your body is not your own to spend without care, but a trust from Him, and we pray you may have grace to labor to enter into that rest which is consistent with diligent labor, not laziness, for lazy people cannot rest, but neither is it faith to harm the body He has given you.

We pray that the Lord would guard you from doing harm to yourself with excess, and give you moderation and self control, and help you to find refreshing sleep and seasonable relief, and to cast your care for profit and for daily bread upon Him who knows your need. May He teach you to number your hours, to work faithfully and to rest faithfully, and to find that even now the believer may be in a state of rest, though this earth is not our final rest, which remains perfect and glorious hereafter.

May God grant you grace to come to Christ anew each day that you may find rest unto your soul, and may that rest make you ready for service, watchful against sin, and pressing forward with a quiet heart. We ask that He would make your business to prosper as seems good in His sight, and keep you in health and in peace, for His name's sake.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request has been heard and I am praying for you in this demanding season. Your desire to provide faithfully for your family and to work diligently is good and honoring to God, and it is also clear that the weight of it has left you exhausted.

Scripture teaches us to be diligent in our calling, and also to steward the body God has given us with wisdom. The apostle Paul writes, make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts, and yet he also tells Timothy to use a little wine for his stomach and his frequent ailments. The point is not to neglect the body, but to care for it for health and not for indulgence or for merely pushing it beyond what it can bear. We are to make provision for the flesh to keep it healthy, not to light a fire under it or drive it harder through excess. That is a helpful word for your situation with work and with coffee.

It is understandable that you feel you cannot afford to stop, and that you are using coffee to stay awake to keep going. Please hear this with care. Continually driving yourself without rest and relying on much coffee to override exhaustion will not sustain you or serve your family well in the long run. True provision for your body means seeking health so you can serve God and your family faithfully. That includes seeking regular sleep, moderation in what you take to stay awake, and wisdom about your limits. The present life can feel like a sleep in which we are driven from one dream to another, but God calls us to be awake and sober minded, not weighed down, and to spend our strength first on what is spiritual and eternal while trusting Him with our daily needs.

I will pray for you, and I encourage you to take practical steps as you are able. Ask the Lord for wisdom to order your work and rest, to set boundaries where you can, and to seek counsel from a trusted pastor, family member, or doctor if exhaustion continues or if you are concerned about how much coffee you are using. God honors honest labor, and He also designed us to need rest. Trust Him to provide as you do what you can each day.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, I lift up this brother to You. You see his labor, his love for his family, and his weariness. Grant him Your sustaining grace, wisdom to steward his body well, and peace to trust You with his needs. Give him rest that restores him, protect him from harm, and help him to find moderation and health in how he works and what he takes to stay awake. Provide for his family according to Your goodness, make his business honest and fruitful in Your time, and keep his heart fixed on You above all things. Strengthen him to care for his body for health and for Your service, and draw him closer to Christ each day. In Jesus name, Amen.

Thank you for sharing so honestly about what you are carrying. The weight of trying to provide for your family while getting a new business off the ground is real, and it is understandable that you feel exhausted and stretched thin.

Scripture gives us an important way to think about weariness and burnout. Jesus said His yoke is easy and His burden is light, and the psalmist spoke of delighting to do the will of God. When work is done in step with what God has called and equipped us to do, there can still be long days and hard effort, but there is a different kind of grace and joy in it. When we push beyond what God intends for us, or try to carry everything in our own strength without rest and dependence on Him, exhaustion comes much more quickly. It is worth bringing your work before the Lord and asking Him to show you what is truly necessary right now, what can be laid down or done differently, and how to walk in His strength rather than only your own.

Your body matters to God as well. It is not honoring to Him to harm yourself to keep going, and relying on large amounts of coffee to stay awake will only add strain to a body that is already tired. God designed us to need sleep and rest, and trusting Him includes caring for the health He has given you. Pray for wisdom to find a more sustainable rhythm, even in a demanding season. That may mean looking honestly at your hours, your sleep, your caffeine use, and asking for counsel from a trusted person or a medical professional if exhaustion continues. Needing rest is not a failure of faith, it is part of how God made us.

I will pray for you, for your family, and for this business.

Father, I lift up this one who is working so hard to provide for his family. You see the financial pressure and the weariness, and You know every detail of this business. Please grant wisdom for each decision, strength for each day, and a clear sense of Your leading. Provide for this family according to Your riches and Your care, and give peace where there has been anxiety. Help him to steward his body well, to find true rest in You, and to learn to work with a yoke that is light because it is shared with Christ. Guard his health, ease the exhaustion, and help him to step away from anything that would harm him. Teach him to delight in Your will and to trust You with both the work and the outcome. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

If the fatigue deepens or you notice concerning symptoms, please seek wise medical care promptly, and consider talking with a mature believer who can help you evaluate your workload and support you in this season.
