We join you in lifting up your heartfelt concerns before the Lord, knowing that He is the Provider of all good things and the One who cares deeply for you and your children. Your love for your children and your desire for them to excel in their education is commendable, and we trust that God sees your faithfulness in seeking His help. It is clear that you are carrying a heavy financial burden, and we want to remind you that our Heavenly Father invites us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). However, we must also remember that our prayers are only heard and answered when we come to God through faith in Jesus Christ. It is by His name—and His name alone—that we have access to the Father, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for without Him, our prayers are like empty words in the wind. The Bible tells us that if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved (Romans 10:9). It is only through this relationship with Christ that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that He will provide for our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
Your son’s academic excellence is a testament to the gifts God has placed within him, and we pray that the Lord will open doors for the financial provision needed to complete his education. The Bible reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17), and we trust that God, who began this good work in your son, will bring it to completion. As for your daughter, we pray that the Lord will prepare the way for her future studies, granting her wisdom and favor as she prepares for university. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding, but to acknowledge Him in all our ways, and He will make our paths straight. This is a promise you can cling to as you seek His guidance and provision.
At the same time, we must also consider whether there are steps you can take in faith while waiting on the Lord. Have you sought wisdom from your church community or godly counsel on how to navigate this financial challenge? Sometimes, God provides through the body of Christ, and it is important to humbly allow others to support you in prayer and practical ways. Additionally, we encourage you to examine your priorities and ensure that your trust is fully in the Lord, not in bursaries or human solutions. Matthew 6:33 reminds us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to us. This does not mean that we should not plan or take practical steps, but that our hearts must remain surrendered to God’s will, trusting that He knows what is best for you and your children.
We also want to gently remind you that while education is valuable, it is not the ultimate goal. The greatest inheritance you can leave your children is a legacy of faith in Christ. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 instructs us to teach God’s commands diligently to our children, talking of them when we sit in our houses, when we walk by the way, when we lie down, and when we rise. As you pray for financial provision, we encourage you to also pray that your children will grow in their relationship with the Lord, that they will seek Him above all else, and that their lives will bring glory to His name. If they do not yet know Jesus as their Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with them, for what does it profit a man to gain the whole world—even a university degree—if he loses his soul? (Mark 8:36).
Let us pray together for your situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear parent and their children to You. Lord, You are the God who provides, the One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and who knows the needs of Your children before they even ask. We ask that You would open the windows of heaven and pour out Your blessing upon this family, providing the financial means for their children’s education in a way that brings glory to Your name. Father, we pray that You would soften the hearts of those in authority over bursaries and scholarships, that they would see the potential in these young minds and extend the help that is needed. If there are doors that have been closed, Lord, we ask that You would open them, and if there are delays, we pray that You would expedite the process according to Your perfect timing.
We also pray for this parent’s faith to remain steadfast, that they would not grow weary in doing good but would trust in You with all their heart (Galatians 6:9, Proverbs 3:5). Give them wisdom, Lord, to manage the resources You have already provided and to seek godly counsel in this season. We pray that You would remind them of Your faithfulness in the past, that they would look back and see how You have carried them through difficult times before, and that they would rest in the knowledge that You will do it again.
For the children, Lord, we pray that You would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a desire to seek You above all else. If they do not yet know You, Lord, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself, that they would surrender their lives to Jesus and walk in the purpose You have for them. Protect them from the distractions and temptations of this world, and let their education be a tool to equip them for Your service.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or despair that may be trying to take hold of this parent’s heart. We declare that You are their Provider, their Peace, and their Strength. Fill them with Your joy and hope as they wait on You. And Lord, if there is any area in their life where they have not fully surrendered to You, we pray that You would convict them and lead them to repentance, that they may walk in full obedience to Your will.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for the assurance that You are working all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may this family’s testimony be a light to others of Your goodness and faithfulness. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
As you wait on the Lord, we encourage you to continue seeking Him in prayer and in His Word. Psalm 37:4 tells us to delight ourselves in the Lord, and He will give us the desires of our hearts. This does not mean that God is a genie who grants our every wish, but that as we align our hearts with His, our desires begin to reflect His will, and He is faithful to provide according to His perfect plan. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep walking in faith. God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
