Bullying

We hear the pain in your request and we stand with you in this difficult family situation. Being bullied and feeling hated by a younger relative can leave a deep wound, especially when family should be a place of love and safety. We want you to know that God sees how you are being treated and He cares deeply for you. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

The Bible is very clear that hatred and bullying do not reflect God's heart. We must rebuke that behavior in love because it is sin. 1 John 3:15 says Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him. And Romans 12:17 says Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. Your younger relative's actions toward you are wrong before God, and we pray that the Lord will convict his or her heart and bring repentance. At the same time we are called not to return hatred for hatred. Matthew 5:44 says But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you.

We encourage you not to carry this hatred into your own heart or seek revenge, but to pursue peace as far as it depends on you. Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger, Proverbs 15:1. This does not mean you should allow ongoing bullying or abuse to continue without boundaries. We encourage you to seek help from godly authority in your family, such as parents, guardians, or a pastor, and to calmly share what is happening with honesty and respect. Ephesians 4:32 teaches us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Forgiveness does not mean pretending the hurt did not happen, but releasing bitterness to God and trusting Him to bring healing and justice.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that matters so much to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and it is only through Him that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to bring every hurt to Him in prayer in His name.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is hurting from being bullied and feeling hated by a younger relative. Lord, You see every tear and You know the pain of rejection. We ask You to comfort this heart, to heal the wounds caused by harsh words and actions, and to remind them that they are deeply loved and valued by You. We pray for the younger relative as well, that You would soften that heart, convict of sin, and replace hatred with love and respect. Help both to walk in forgiveness and kindness. Give wisdom to know when to speak with gentleness, when to set healthy boundaries, and when to seek help from family and godly counsel. Guard this dear one from bitterness and help them to love as You love, while also protecting them from harm. We pray for peace in this family and that Your will would be done and Your name glorified. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue praying for your relative by name, to show the love of Christ even when it is difficult, and to keep seeking wise and safe support from trusted adults who can help intervene and bring restoration. God is able to bring healing where there has been hurt.

We are so sorry you are going through this. Being disliked or targeted by someone younger in your own family can be especially painful and confusing, and it makes sense you would feel hurt and worn down by it.

Sometimes what looks like hate from a younger relative is tangled up with their own insecurities, jealousy, or things they have not learned yet how to handle well. That does not make their behavior okay, and it does not mean there is something wrong with you.

One thing that has helped others in a similar place is to separate two things. You can make a quiet decision not to carry revenge or return unkindness, even while the sore feelings are still there and need time to heal. Rebuilding trust, if it happens, takes both people willing to work toward it, and it cannot be forced by one side alone.

When you are ready, it may help to talk with one calm, trusted adult who knows your family well, a parent, older relative, or pastor, not to get the younger relative in trouble, but to get wisdom on boundaries and whether a brief, mediated conversation could help. Having someone else present often keeps things safer and clearer than trying to sort it out one on one.

Father, we lift this family situation to You and ask for Your peace over our friend who feels hated and bullied. Give comfort, wisdom for next steps, and protection for both hearts involved. Guide this younger relative as well, and lead this relationship toward what is healthy and right in Your eyes. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a sore trial to be hated without a cause, and when that hatred comes from a younger relative near to you, the wound cuts the deeper. Our Lord Jesus knows this sorrow well, for though He was altogether lovely, no being so early met with hatred, and no creature ever endured such continual persecution as He suffered. They hated Him without a cause, not for any evil He had done, for He came to quench the flames of hell for sinners, but from the evil that was in their own hearts.

The Christian religion is a golden chain with which the hands of men are fettered from all hatred. The spirit of Christ is love, and wherever He governs, love reigns as a necessary consequence. The Christian man is not allowed to hate any one. Thou hast no right to excrete thy hatred upon any creature, however fallen or debased, however much he may irritate thy temper or injure thee in thy estate or reputation. To return hatred for hatred would be to forsake the spirit of Christ.

Still hatred is a power of manhood, and it may be exercised as in the fear of God, but its true object is not a person but evil itself. Thou hast good reason to hate all evil, greater reason than ever the most injured man could bring forward for the hatred of his enemies. Consider what mischief sin has brought into thy heart and into this world. Show thy hatred to evil by active efforts in putting it down, not by striking at the person who wrongs thee, but by overcoming evil with good, by prayer, by patience, by scattering the Word of God and by seeking the good of him who hates thee.

In this trial thou art called to that blessed business which belongs to all the people of God, forgiving one another even as Christ forgave you. It is as it were a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness, and members of Christian families should take large shares in this concern. How can hatred live in the presence of such love as Christ has shown to us.

Remember the pattern set before thee. Christ has shown pardon to the most unworthy persons, for to talk of deserving forgiveness is a contradiction in terms. His forgiveness is surprising, complete and eternal. The text saith, There is forgiveness with Thee, and again, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a divine forgiveness, and it is to be obtained from God through Jesus Christ His Son alone, the Just for the unjust that He might bring us to God. He not only forgave us at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, and His forgiveness is without repentance. He does not forgive and afterwards accuse.

Therefore look first to thyself. If thou hast any sin of temper or word to confess, carry it at once to Him with whom there is forgiveness, and thou shalt find Him ready to blot out the record that was against thee, the tally nailed to the cross. Then, having received such complete and undeserved mercy, thou wilt find it natural as to open thy hand to extend mercy to this younger one who hates thee.

Do not meet bullying with bullying, nor contempt with contempt. Pray for him, for the Lord commandeth us to love our enemies. Speak gently and seek peace where thou canst. If the unkindness continues or becomes cruel, seek the help of wise and godly parents or guardians who may restrain evil and guide the younger heart aright, for love does not leave a child to harden in sin. Continue in patient kindness, committing thy cause to Him who judgeth righteously.

May the Lord, who has forgiven thee so freely, teach thee to forgive freely, and turn the heart of this younger relative from hatred to love, and keep thine own heart from bitterness, that hatred of evil may remain and hatred of any person may be banished forever.
