We understand how deeply painful and draining it can be to face bullies in the workplace, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The Lord sees your suffering, and He cares for you more than you can imagine. It is not wrong to desire relief from this oppression, but we must also examine our hearts and responses through the lens of Scripture. The Bible calls us to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, and pray for those who mistreat us—even when it feels impossible.
*"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,"* (Matthew 5:44, WEB).
This does not mean we allow abuse to continue unchecked, but it does mean we must respond in a way that honors God, trusting Him to fight our battles. Your prayer for them to "find happiness elsewhere" could be reframed in light of God’s will—perhaps that their hearts would be changed, that they would come to repentance, or that God would remove their influence over you in a way that brings glory to Him. We must also ask God to guard our hearts against bitterness, resentment, or any desire for vengeance, for these things can take root and harm us spiritually.
*"Don’t say, ‘I will pay back evil.’ Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you."* (Proverbs 20:22, WEB).
If these bullies are creating a hostile work environment, it may also be wise to seek godly counsel on how to address this situation practically—whether through proper channels at work, documentation of incidents, or even seeking new employment if necessary. But even in taking action, we must do so with wisdom, humility, and a heart that seeks God’s justice rather than our own retribution.
*"Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."* (Romans 12:21, WEB).
We also notice that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus, and this is something we must address with love and urgency. There is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father, and there is no other name by which we are saved.
*"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* (John 14:6, WEB).
*"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB).
If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that He died for you and rose again, and surrender your life to Him. Only through Christ can we find true peace, strength, and the power to forgive those who wrong us.
Now, let us pray for you in Jesus’ name:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, knowing that You see the pain and injustice they are facing at work. Lord, we ask that You would be their shield and defender. Give them wisdom to know how to respond in a way that honors You, and grant them the strength to love and pray for their enemies, even when it is difficult. Father, we pray that You would soften the hearts of those who are bullying them. Bring conviction to their spirits, Lord, and lead them to repentance. If it is Your will, remove this burden from our brother/sister by changing the circumstances—whether through a change in the hearts of these individuals or by opening a new door of opportunity elsewhere.
We also ask that You would guard their heart against bitterness, fear, or despair. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and remind them that their identity and worth are found in You alone, not in the opinions or actions of others. Give them favor with those in authority, and if they need to take practical steps to address this situation, guide them in wisdom and courage.
Most of all, Father, we pray that if our brother/sister does not know You, that today would be the day they turn to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. May they find in Him the strength, hope, and victory that can only come through His name.
We rebuked every spirit of fear, oppression, and retaliation in Jesus’ mighty name. Let the peace of Christ rule in their heart, and let the enemy’s plans be exposed and thwarted. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of You, Father.
In the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
