Hello, my prayer is for both myself and a friend of mine named yasemin. My prayer request has a couple of facets to it so please bear with me. The two of us made acquaintence on e-Harmony site roughly a half year ago and have been communicating by phone and online since. I ask God to help guide and strengthen the relationship between myself and her to where it might best go. We have been working upon building a foundation of mutually respectfully and caring friendship towards each other, waiting to see where it will go; however, recently it feels like it has been slipping away. I'm not certain if this is the person I should or ought to be with; however, I feel a strong connection on my end. She has similarly expressed on occasion; however, it seems to waiver at times! I am busy completing nursing school and working while she works as a cancer researcher while working on a master's degree in biotechnology. I was rasied Chrisitan and she is from Istanbul, her family Muslim, but her self-defining as spiritual but not religious. Anyways, our busy schedules with work and school on both ends have kept us apart, along with what I feel has been a waning interest or enthusiasm on her end. I am much more emotionally expressive than she is, and it is difficult to get her to be emotionally and intimately communicative without putting up walls and barriers, despite what she has observed as my patient and very kind and sweetly respectful attitude towards her. I would pray to God to find a way to bring us closer together for the time being over the next 4 months and that she might open up to me more, confide and communicate more, and feel more receptive towards working on building a stronger foundation together for a possible relationship. I'm fine with being patient, but pray that God help add some "Ummph" to things such that things won't die out or dwindle altogether. I do care about her and want to be there for her, which I state outright clearly; however, sometime it feels like she is appreciative and optomistic, whereas other times more aloof, removed, and distant. Yes, there are different cultural backgrounds and personalities. Please God, help things along between us to whatever they're meant to be. Life is not easy, and I could use your help here. Please God help myself and Yasemin along our journies both professionally and academically; hopefully, one day together as partners, should it be meant to be, or as least as lifelong sincere friends.
Thanks be to God! Amen!
