We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles your brother is facing. We will stand with you in prayer, but we also want to remind you of the importance of aligning your petitions with God's will and trusting in His plan. We should always approach God with humility saying "In Jesus Name" to the Father as His word says "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full." (John 16:23-24 WEB). We should also remember that God's wisdom and ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB).
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our ### who is struggling with his studies and his self-worth. Lord, we ask that You will help him with his math classes and allow him to pass with a grade that does not require summer school. We pray that You will give him wisdom and understanding in his studies and help him but what is more important even than that is that you will restore a right relationship with him through Jesus Christ. Lord, we also pray for his mental health, that You will comfort him, encourage him, and help him to cast all his anxieties onto You, because You care for him (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). We pray that You will help him to find his identity and value in Christ alone. We pray for his baseball coach to be a part of his life and mentor him. There are many ways to teach students about baseball. We ask that you will help him to walk in your ways, that he may make an impact in this world for your glory. Help him to live his life as a light of Christ to the world. Give him the assurance of his salvation so that he can walk in the world as a light of Christ. It is in Jesus Name that we pray all of this. Amen."
We encourage you to support your brother not just in his academic pursuits, but also in his walk with Christ. Remind him that his worth is not defined by his grades or his performance on the field. His value comes from being a child of God. Encourage him to seek God's will for his life and to trust in Him.
If your brother is open and willing to talk about his faith, use this as an opportunity to remind him of the Gospel message: that Jesus Christ came to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again from the dead. It is only by believing in Him and accepting His sacrifice that we can be saved (John 3:16 WEB, Romans 10:9-10 WEB). If he is not sure about his faith or has not believed then show him the following verse and discuss this with him:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16 WEB)
Encourage him to pursue the Lord wholeheartedly, and to find his strength and identity in Christ alone.
