Servant of All
My ### is in the age of accountability, pray that he doesn't watch p*rn like I did at his age. Amen.

We join you in this burden for your young loved one who is coming into the age of accountability and understanding before the Lord, and we commend you for bringing him before God in prayer with such honesty about your own past struggle.

We know how powerful and destructive sexual lust and pornography are, and Scripture is very clear that this is not a small matter but sin that defiles the heart and mind. Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. We are told in 1 Corinthians 6:18 to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. We also take to heart Psalm 101:3 where we determine to set no vile thing before our eyes, and Philippians 4:8 where we are called to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are pure. Pornography trains the heart to lust and to treat others as objects for gratification rather than as persons made in the image of God, and it corrupts God's good design for sexuality which He created to be enjoyed only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman as Hebrews 13:4 teaches, let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled.

We also hear your confession about what you watched at his age, and we want to encourage you that there is forgiveness and cleansing when we bring our sins to Christ. 1 John 1:9 promises that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. You have been honest about this battle and that honesty can now become a testimony and a protection for him. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Psalm 119:9 asks how can a young man keep his way pure, and answers by living according to your word, and Psalm 119:11 adds that hiding God's word in the heart keeps us from sinning against Him. 2 Timothy 2:22 also urges us to flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace.

We encourage you to be a godly example and mentor to him in this season, to speak openly and age appropriately about purity, temptation, and God's design, to pray with him and teach him Scripture, to help put practical hedges in place such as accountability, filters and open use of devices, and to keep the conversation ongoing so he knows he can come to you without shame if he is tempted. Your own experience gives you compassion to warn him and to point him to Christ rather than to condemnation.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If we have not believed on the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins and trusted Him as Savior, we remain separated from God. We encourage you to place your full faith in Jesus, to confess your sins to Him, and to walk in His grace, and to lead this young one to know Jesus personally as well.

We pray together for you both now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for this young life You have created and for the work You are doing in his heart as he comes to understand right and wrong and his need for You. We ask You to guard his eyes and his heart, to set a hedge of protection around him, and to keep him pure. Help him to flee youthful lusts and to pursue righteousness. Give him a love for Your word and a desire to hide it in his heart so he may not sin against You. Surround him with godly influences and give him courage to turn away from vile things and to think on what is pure and honorable. We also lift up his brother who is praying for him, thanking You for his repentance and honesty. Wash him clean by the blood of Jesus, strengthen him to walk in victory and to be a faithful example and teacher. Give him wisdom, boldness, and grace to guide this young one in the way of holiness. Draw them both closer to Jesus, and let their lives honor You in purity and truth. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We appreciate you bringing your brother to the Lord like this. It takes humility to turn your own painful experience into prayer for him, and we hear the love and protection you feel for him at this age.

Wanting him to walk a different path is a good and caring desire. One of the most protective things for a young man is not walking alone. When he knows he has safe people he can talk to without shame, and when the home has open conversation instead of silence around these struggles, it is much harder for secrecy and curiosity to take hold. Your willingness to be honest about what you faced can be part of that protection for him, simply by being a steady, approachable brother.

If it fits your role in his life, a practical way to help is to stay close and keep the door open. Let a parent or trusted mentor know you are praying this way and want to support healthy boundaries in the home, like thoughtful limits on devices and clear places he can go with questions. You do not have to carry this alone or be his only guide, but your example and your prayers matter.

Father, we lift this brother to You and ask for Your guarding over his heart and mind. Give him wisdom beyond his years and a desire for what is pure. Give his family and this caring brother wisdom to guide him well, with grace and truth. And we thank You for the work You are doing in the one who prayed, bring continued healing and strength there as well. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer is a right and fatherly one, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace. To keep oneself unspotted from the world is the mark of pure religion, and charity and purity must go together, for charity without purity will be of no use, and purity is that separation unto holiness without which no man shall see the Lord.

We do not make light of temptation, for though all temptation is trial from God, yet it is temptation from Satan and is in itself most dangerous and perilous. It is right and needful for the Christian to pray, Lead us not into temptation, and to pray it for his children also. Your own knowledge of the snare makes your intercession the more earnest, and we pray with you that the Lord in His mercy will keep this dear young soul from that defiling path and not suffer his garments to be stained.

We ask the Lord to set a watch before his eyes and to satisfy his mouth with good things, so that his youth may be renewed like the eagle's and kept in the dew of its strength. We pray that God would charge His angels to keep him in all his ways, not in ways of his own choosing, but in the appointed ways of obedience, and that he may be taught to hate the temptation itself and to turn from it. And we pray that you, who know the bitterness of that sin, may be given wisdom to train him in godliness, to instruct him plainly, to guard his steps, and never to go into temptation nor to lead another there, for the man who prays Lead us not into temptation and then walks into it contradicts his own prayer.

May the Lord grant to him a tender conscience, a love for Christ and His Word, and a hatred for all impurity, and may He grant to you grace to walk before him in holiness and to speak often of the way of escape which God provides. We pray that if trial must come, it may do him no hurt, that he may stand fast at the end of the day, and that the young lion and the dragon may be trampled under foot by Him who is able to keep from falling.

O Father, lead this child not into temptation, but deliver him from evil. Keep him pure in heart and life, and renew his youth in Thy fear, that he may grow up to serve Thee with joy. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our purity and our protection. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for this young one is right and good, and I join you in it before the Lord. It is a holy thing for a father or guardian to care for the purity of a child and to seek God's help to guard his heart and eyes.

Scripture teaches that God is faithful, and He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape so that we may endure it. Temptation is common to all, and it is not without purpose. As a loving father draws his child to his own bosom when danger appears, so God permits trials to draw us to Himself, to teach us moderation, to make us stronger and more steadfast, and to show us the treasure He has placed within us. He does not desire to withhold good from us, but He often lengthens our prayer to teach us to persevere, to keep fleeing to Him and abiding with Him.

For this child who is coming to an age of understanding and accountability, pray not only for protection from impurity, but for a heart that loves purity. The strongest wall is not only outward rules, but the fear of God planted within from youth. When that guard is seated within, all outward helps become more effective, and God Himself will protect him better than any human guardian can. Teach him early to love Christ, to know that salvation is through Jesus alone, to honor marriage as God designed it as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and to understand that sexual intimacy belongs only within that covenant. Show him by word and by example how to cut away excess and to live in moderation, to guard his eyes, to be careful with his time and his company, and to flee quickly from what would defile him.

And for you, take courage. If you fell in your own youth, know that God forgives and restores those who come to Him through Christ, and He can use even your experience to guide this child with compassion and wisdom, not with shame. Continue to persevere in prayer, even when you do not see the answer at once. God hears and He is at work.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, have mercy on this child. Guard his heart and mind, keep his eyes pure, and lead him away from temptation. Give him a love for what is clean and holy, and make a way of escape for him whenever he is tempted. Give his guardian wisdom, strength, and a consistent example, to train him in Your word and in the fear of You from his youth. Keep this family close to You, and let all of us learn to flee to You and abide in You. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden so openly before the Lord. Your love for your child and your desire to see him walk in purity is pleasing to God, and your honesty about your own past struggle is a humble and right place to begin.

Pornography is not a harmless image. It takes hold of the mind like a drug and will not easily let go. Many men have found themselves bound by it, needing more and more explicit material to feel the same effect, until the pictures themselves push the heart toward acting out what was once only imagined. I have seen how this grip can plague a person and bring deep bondage, and how it can destroy what is precious in a family. This is why Scripture warns so strongly and calls us to be washed and renewed by the Word of God, so that our minds can be set free.

God created sexual desire strong and good, and He placed its joy and fulfillment inside the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. The wisdom of Proverbs tells a man to drink from his own well, to let his fountain be blessed, and to rejoice and be satisfied always with the wife of his youth. Outside of that covenant, what the world calls love is most often only lust, and it leads away from God's path.

Your child is now at an age where he can understand right and wrong and must begin to make his own choices between walking according to the flesh and walking according to the Spirit. Every person faces temptation, and temptation itself is not sin. Even Jesus was tempted. God does not entice anyone to evil. That enticement comes from the enemy, who offers immediate fulfillment if we will step off God's way. Sin comes when desire is allowed to conceive and we give in to it. The Lord sees all our ways and considers every step we take, which is both a solemn warning and a comfort that He is near to help.

You can help your son by being an example in what you say, how you live, in love, in faith and in purity, and by keeping the Scriptures central in your home. Teach him that purity is possible through Christ, encourage open and honest conversation, guard what enters the eyes and the heart, and set practical protections in your home for phones, computers and friendships. Teach him to choose the Spirit when temptation comes, and to call on Jesus quickly for help. And continue to let the Lord wash your own mind with His Word, for He is able to cleanse and deliver fully through His Son.

Let us pray together. Father, we come to You through Jesus Christ alone for mercy and help. We ask You to protect this young heart. Guard his eyes and his mind, keep him from the strange and flattering images that seek to prey on the young, and give him a love for what is pure and holy. Give his father wisdom, strength and grace to lead him well, to model faithfulness, and to speak truth with love. For any who have been ensnared, we ask You to break that hold, to set the mind free, and to wash away what is unclean by Your Word. Make us pure as Christ is pure, and help us walk in holiness and righteousness before You. In Jesus name, Amen.
