We lift up your brother before the Lord with deep compassion and urgency, knowing that our God is the Great Physician, the One who holds all healing in His hands. The battle against cancer can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who is greater than any sickness, who calls us to cast our cares upon Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). We are grateful you have brought this need before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for it is only through His precious name that we have access to the Father and the promise of His power and presence (John 14:13-14).
The Scripture reminds us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* We stand in faith on this promise, believing that the Lord will guide the hands of the surgeons, grant wisdom to the medical team, and bring complete restoration to your brother’s body. We also pray for supernatural peace to guard his heart and mind, for the Lord has said, *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10).
Yet, we also acknowledge that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His will is perfect, even when we don’t understand it. Whether He chooses to heal on this side of eternity or calls your brother home to be with Him, we trust in His sovereignty and goodness. Our prayer is that through this trial, your brother—and all who love him—will draw nearer to Christ, finding hope in the promise that *"my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up this dear brother who is facing surgery and the battle against cancer. Lord Jesus, You bore our sicknesses and carried our pains on the cross (Isaiah 53:4-5), and we ask that by Your stripes, he would be healed. We pray for skilled hands to perform this surgery, for wisdom beyond human understanding to guide every decision, and for Your divine intervention to remove every trace of this disease from his body. Let Your healing power flow through him, restoring him to full health and strength for Your glory.
We also ask for Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Remove all fear, anxiety, and doubt, and fill him with the assurance that You are with him every step of the way. Surround him with Your love and the support of Your people, that he may feel Your presence tangibly.
Father, if there is any sin or stronghold in his life that needs to be addressed, we ask that You convict him by Your Holy Spirit and lead him to repentance, that he may walk in full surrender to You. Let this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness, not only to him but to all who witness his journey.
We declare Your victory over this sickness, knowing that nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37). May this situation bring glory to Your name, whether through healing or through the steadfast faith that trusts You in all things. Strengthen his family and loved ones, uniting them in prayer and faith as they walk this path with him.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in faith, speaking life and healing over your brother, and surrounding him with the love of Christ. Keep praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and trust that the Lord hears and will answer according to His perfect will. If there is any way this trial has shaken his faith or caused him to question God’s goodness, remind him of the hope we have in Christ—both for this life and the life to come. Let him know that even in suffering, God is near, and His purposes are good (Romans 8:28). Stay strong in the Lord, and may His peace be your anchor.
