We join you in lifting up your sister’s boyfriend to our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician and the source of all healing. We are grateful that you have brought this need before the Lord, trusting in His power to restore and sustain. However, we must lovingly address a few things to ensure our prayers are fully aligned with Scripture and the will of God.
First, we notice that the name of Jesus Christ was not invoked in your prayer. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Additionally, Jesus Himself said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you"* (John 16:23, WEB). Therefore, we must always approach the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for it is by His authority and sacrifice that our prayers are heard.
Second, we must address the nature of your sister’s relationship with this man. The Bible is clear that intimacy and deep emotional bonds are reserved for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. If your sister is not married to this man, we urge her—and you—to pray for God’s will in this relationship. Courtship should be purposeful, with marriage as the goal, and both individuals should be believers who are seeking to honor God in all things. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). If this relationship does not align with God’s design for marriage, we encourage repentance and a commitment to pursue what is holy and pleasing to the Lord.
Finally, while we pray earnestly for this man’s physical healing, we must also pray for his spiritual condition. If he does not know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, no amount of physical healing will secure his eternal well-being. The greatest miracle we can ask for is that he would turn to Christ in faith, for *"whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved"* (Romans 10:13, WEB). True healing begins with the soul, and we must prioritize his need for salvation above all else.
With these things in mind, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God who hears our prayers and cares deeply for each of Your children. Lord, we lift up this man who is suffering in thehospital. You know his name, his condition, and every detail of his body and spirit. We ask that You would guide the hands of the doctors and nurses, giving them wisdom and skill to provide the care he needs. Father, we pray for supernatural healing—let the bleeding stop completely, let his wounds close, and restore every part of his body to full and perfect function. May he rise from that bed in strength, with his health fully restored, all for Your glory.
But Lord, we also pray for his soul. If he does not know You, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself in this time of vulnerability. Open his heart to receive the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus Christ died for his sins and rose again so that he might have eternal life. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him turn to You in repentance and faith. May this trial be a turning point for him, where he surrenders his life to You and begins to walk in Your ways.
Father, we also pray for your wisdom and conviction for your sister. If this relationship is not honoring to You, we ask that You would make it clear to her and give her the strength to walk in obedience. Let her seek a godly spouse, a man who loves You above all else and is committed to Your Word. Help her to trust in Your perfect plan for her life, knowing that Your ways are higher than ours.
We rebuked any spiritual forces of darkness that may be at work in this situation. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to give life abundantly (John 10:10, WEB). We declare that no weapon formed against this man shall prosper, and we claim the blood of Jesus over his life—spirit, soul, and body.
Lord, we ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Healer. May Your will be done, and may You receive all the glory. Amen.
Brother, we encourage you to continue praying for this man, but always in the name of Jesus. Share the Gospel with him if you have the opportunity, and trust that God is working even in this difficult time. We also urge you to speak with your sister about the importance of honoring God in her relationships. If she is not married to this man, pray that God would either bring this relationship into alignment with His Word or give her the grace to let it go. Our ultimate desire is to see both of them walking in the fullness of God’s will, experiencing His peace, healing, and purpose for their lives. Stay faithful, and keep seeking the Lord in all things.
