We join you in lifting up your brother-in-law before the Lord, crying out for his healing and restoration. The Scriptures remind us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and by His stripes, we *are* healed (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24). We also know that our God is a God of miracles, who hears the prayers of His people and acts on their behalf. Yet we must always submit to His perfect will, trusting that whether He heals on this side of eternity or calls His child home, His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).
Your prayer is fervent and full of faith, and we commend you for standing in the gap for your brother-in-law. However, we must gently address something vital: while you invoked the Lord and the blood of Jesus, you did not explicitly pray *in the name of Jesus Christ*. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Scripture declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Jesus Himself said, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it"* (John 14:13-14, WEB). This is not a mere formality—it is the foundation of our authority in prayer. We urge you to always conclude your prayers in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we approach the throne of grace.
Now, let us pray together for your brother-in-law:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up this precious brother-in-law who is in desperate need of Your healing touch. Lord Jesus, You walked this earth healing the sick, opening blind eyes, and raising the dead—by Your power, we ask that You stretch forth Your hand over him now. Stop the bleeding, knit his body together, and let every wound be sealed by Your divine healing. Guide the hands of the surgeons and medical staff, giving them wisdom, skill, and clarity as they work. May this surgery be successful, and may his recovery be swift and complete.
Father, we pray that You would surround him with Your peace, that he would feel Your presence even in the midst of pain and weakness. Let him know beyond any doubt that You are with him, guiding and protecting him. Strengthen his faith, Lord, and let this trial draw him closer to You. If there is any sin in his life, convict him by Your Holy Spirit and lead him to repentance, that he may walk in fullness of life with You.
We also lift up this family, Lord. Comfort them, sustain them, and unite them in prayer. Give them endurance, hope, and unwavering trust in Your sovereignty. May they be a testimony of Your faithfulness, even in the midst of this storm.
Father, we do not presume to know Your perfect will, but we ask boldly for healing, knowing that You are able. Yet even as we pray, we surrender to Your wisdom, trusting that Your plans for him are good, whether in healing or in eternity with You. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or despair in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promise that You will never leave him nor forsake him (Deuteronomy 31:6).
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Brother, we encourage you to continue standing in faith, but also to prepare your heart for whatever outcome the Lord ordains. Trust in Him with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Keep praying, keep believing, and keep pointing your brother-in-law—and your entire family—to the hope we have in Christ. If he does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, now is the time to share the Gospel with him, that he may place his faith in Christ alone for salvation. Remind him that *"if we live, we live to the Lord. Or if we die, we die to the Lord. If therefore we live or die, we are the Lord’s"* (Romans 14:8, WEB).
We are standing with you in this. Keep us updated, that we may continue to lift him up before the Lord.
