Broken

We hear your cry and we grieve with you in this deep brokenness, and we want you to know you are not alone and you are not beyond hope. The feeling that you are so broken that even God cannot fix you is a heavy lie from the enemy, and we gently rebuke that lie with the truth of Scripture. There is nothing too hard for our God, and there is no brokenness He cannot heal when we come to Him.

The Word tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. Jesus Himself said, Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me Jeremiah 32:27. What feels impossible to you is not impossible to Him. He does not fix us the way the world does, by covering over the cracks, He makes us new, He restores, He redeems, and His grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Where do you go from here, you ask. We encourage you to go straight to the throne of grace, to Jesus Christ Himself. We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we urge you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, and bringing your brokenness directly to Him in prayer. He is not distant from your pain, He entered into it for you.

We pray together for you now. Father, we lift up this precious broken heart to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the pain that feels too deep for words, the brokenness upon brokenness that feels beyond repair. Lord, we ask You to draw near right now as You have promised to the brokenhearted. Pour out Your healing, Your comfort, and Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help our dear one to know that nothing is too hard for You, that You are the Potter and we are the clay, and You can restore what feels shattered. Give strength for each day, hope for tomorrow, and faith to believe that You are working all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. Lead this dear soul to Your Word, to prayer, and to fellowship with other believers who can walk alongside and bear this burden. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to keep going to Him daily, even when you have no words, even with simple honest prayers. Open the Scriptures and let Him speak to you, especially the Psalms. Seek out a Bible believing church family where you can be supported and prayed for in person, and do not isolate yourself in this pain. God is not finished with you, and this brokenness is not the end of your story. Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We are praying for you to feel His nearness and His restoring power in the days ahead.

We hear how heavy it must feel to say you are broken and broken, like you are beyond even what God can fix. Thank you for being honest with us about where you are. That kind of honesty takes courage when everything feels worn down.

We do not see you as too broken to be cared for. When hope feels far away it can be hard to imagine any next step, and it makes sense you are asking where to go from here. You do not have to carry this alone.

One gentle next step could be to let one trusted person this week know in your own words what you told us, whether a pastor, a counselor, or your doctor. You do not need to have answers before you reach out. Sitting with someone who can listen face to face and, if needed, help you get care alongside prayer can make the burden less isolating.

We are holding you in prayer and we want to stay with you in this.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. You see how broken they feel and how far hope feels right now. Draw near to them, give them breath for today, and lead them to caring support around them. Help them know they are not forgotten or beyond Your care. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

There is no brokenness so deep that Christ cannot heal it, and your cry, though it feels as if it comes from a place beyond repair, has been heard.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they urge us to seek a physician, but the broken heart is the great ill which only one Physician can cure. The Scripture says, He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. There are several forms of a broken heart, and yours may feel as though it has been broken and broken again, until the pieces cannot be gathered. Yet this is the very condition for which the Lord has provided healing. He does not despise a broken and a contrite heart, but makes it the place where His mercy delights to work.

You write that it feels like something God cannot fix. Hear the Word against that fear. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The least thing about Christ is healing. His touch, His look, His Word, even the hem of His garment has virtue in it. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. See in Him the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below. These healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits and make the nature other than it was before.

Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed on the Lord's people. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee. Pardon and healing were one. If your brokenness is joined with sin, with wandering, with failure, come for pardon and healing will come from the pardoning hand. You must have this healing before you can do anything else. Your Lord must begin with you before you can begin with Him.

Think also of Peter. Peter was down, but he was soon up again. His restoration was brought about by two outward means, the crowing of the cock and a look from the Lord. That look severed Peter from the crowd and broke his heart, and then restored him. Till Peter had received from the Lord's own mouth abundant assurance of his restoration, we do not find him again in the forefront, but when the Lord restored him, he was made stronger than before. So it may be with you. I trust that if any have been falling back and especially if they have wandered into sin, they may get such a restoration from the Lord Himself that they may become better Christians ever afterwards.

Where do you go from here. You go to Christ Himself. Calvary is the place for the healing balm. The work of Jesus, our heavenly Physician, is not so much to point out disease as to indicate and to apply the remedy. He bears with Him power to heal. This is His honor and renown. Go to Him in prayer, even now, though your prayer be broken. Go to His Word, for faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, and healing power was conspicuously present when Christ was teaching. Look to Him as the palsied man looked, hoping and expecting forgiveness and healing, and you will find that to look is to live.

Do not believe the suggestion of Satan that Christ is unwilling to forgive or unable to heal. There is no truth in it. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings for those who fear His name. Bring your brokenness to Him just as it is, without trying first to mend yourself, and ask Him to take you by the hand and lift you up. There is healing in that contact. He is able to make you whole, to bind up your wounds, and to give you a desire to live again unto Him.

We will pray for you that the Lord will manifest His healing power in you, that you may know pardon and restoration, and that your broken heart may be made whole by His grace.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You say you are broken and broken, as if there is a kind of brokenness that God cannot fix, and you ask where to go from here. Hear this truth first. There is no brokenness that puts you beyond His power to heal while you are still breathing. As long as it is still called Today, there is hope, and no one should despair so long as he lives.

What destroys a person is not only the wound itself but despair about the wound. To sin or to be broken wounds us, but to despair prevents the cure. The one who has fallen and is watchful can quickly be restored through repentance, but the one who has learned to despair does not apply the remedy at all. Do not give the enemy that victory. That wicked one never despairs of your destruction, never stops hoping to pull you down. It would be a great condemnation if he never gives up hope of ruining you, while you give up hope of your own salvation.

You feel pressed on every side and perplexed, and that is real. Scripture describes this very condition and adds, yet not crushed, perplexed yet not unto despair, pursued yet not forsaken. You are not forsaken even when you feel most pressed. God has not turned away.

Where do you go from here. Go to the house of healing. Come continually to hear the word of God, not once or twice and then turning away if you feel nothing at once. The word is like a plow that goes down into the depth of the soul and in time roots out what troubles it. A person cannot go on hearing continually without some effect being produced. Think of a farmer who digs around a vine for three years and sees no fruit and is tempted to abandon it in the fourth year, when it was about to bear. Or think of a tree that receives ten strokes and does not fall, then falls at one more blow. It was not that last blow alone but the ten before it that made it ready. So it is with you. Even if ten times you have heard and seemed to feel nothing, the eleventh hearing may bring forth abundant fruit. The physicians of the body do not stop treatment while breath remains. How much more will God not abandon the soul, for it is possible even at the very gates of hell to recover and lay hold on eternal life.

Therefore do not despair. If God threatens judgment it is so you will turn, and if He promises good it is so you will remain faithful. Like the people of Nineveh, you are able to repent and see the sentence reversed. Come, hear, and let the law of God be written on your heart as on tablets. When the heart holds that writing, the evil one cannot even look upon it but turns away. Write down in your mind what you hear and carry it home, and let it work in you day by day.

I pray for you now that God will lift this heavy despair from you, that He will forgive what needs forgiveness, heal what is broken, and give you strength to keep hearing and hoping. May He show you that you are pursued but not forsaken, and that Today is still a day of mercy and renewal. Stay under His teaching, be patient with His work in you, and you will yet see fruit.

To feel broken and beyond repair is one of the heaviest places a heart can be, and to wonder if even God can fix what is broken makes the darkness feel complete. That sense of having no way out, no light, no hope, is exactly what leads to despair. The prophet Jeremiah described it that way when he said he had seen affliction, that he felt hedged in and trapped, that his strength and hope had perished, and that God had turned His hand against him. If you are feeling that now, you are not alone in that experience, and Scripture does not hide that believers can feel it deeply.

Yet in the middle of that very darkness, Jeremiah said something changed. He said, this I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. He turned his thoughts away from his affliction and onto the character of God. What he remembered was that the Lord is compassionate, that His mercies do not fail, that they are new every morning, and that God is faithful. When he got his eyes on the Lord, hope returned.

That is what true hope is. It is not just wishing for something. Hope is both desire and expectation together. You can desire many things you never really expect to happen, but hope desires and expects. To hope in God means you desire His work in your life and you expect Him to work because He has promised.

Scripture calls Him the God of hope, and says He wants to fill you with joy and peace as you trust Him, so that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Without God there is no real hope, but with Him hope expands. The Word of God was given so that through patience and comfort found there, you might have hope. One psalm puts it simply, remember the word unto Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. That Word becomes both your hope and your comfort.

So where do you go from here. Go to the Lord Himself as your portion. Jeremiah said, the Lord is my portion, therefore I will hope in Him. Those who wait for Him and seek Him find that He is good to them. It is good to hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord, to stand still and let Him fight the battle that is too big for you. He is able.

You can also speak to your own soul as the psalmist did when he was cast down and restless within. He asked, why are you cast down, O my soul, why are you disquieted within me, hope in God. You can think yourself into despair, or by setting your mind on the Lord and renewing your mind in Him, you can come into hope. Recall His unfailing love, His unceasing compassion, His promises that He cannot break.

Part of that hope is present and part is future. There is the blessed hope of the appearing of Jesus Christ, and the living hope of eternal life which God promised and which is given through His Son. That future hope sustains you when everything around you is failing, because it reminds you that God has not finished His work. And the greatest of these, love, encompasses both faith and hope, for love believes all things and hopes all things.

You are not beyond fixing. The God who is faithful and compassionate has not turned against you, even when it feels that way. Bring your brokenness to Him honestly, open His Word and let Him remind you of His mercies, and quietly wait for Him to work. He is the One who can take what feels irreparably broken and bring healing, peace, and a future again.

May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you trust Him, and may you find that as you hope in Him, strength returns day by day.
