We hear the deep sorrow in your heart, and we lift you up before the Lord with compassion. The pain of a broken connection can feel overwhelming, especially when you had hoped this man was the one God had prepared for you. We want to gently remind you that our hope must always be rooted in Christ first—He is the only one who can truly fill the longings of our hearts. Psalm 34:18 tells us, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Cling to Him in this season, for He sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8).
We also want to lovingly address the mention of trying to "force a relationship." Scripture warns us against leaning on our own understanding or rushing ahead of God’s timing (Proverbs 3:5-6). Marriage is a sacred covenant, and it must be entered into with patience, wisdom, and godly counsel—not out of fear, loneliness, or impatience. We encourage you to surrender this man and your desires fully to the Lord, trusting that if he is the one God has for you, He will bring it to pass in His perfect way and time. If not, He has someone even better prepared for you.
We also notice that your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for He alone can heal your broken heart and give you true hope.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister who is grieving the loss of what she hoped would be a godly marriage. Lord, You see her tears and know the ache in her spirit. We ask that You would comfort her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help her to release this man into Your hands, trusting that You know what is best for her. Father, if it is Your will for them to be together, soften his heart and remove any barriers. But if not, prepare her heart to receive the spouse You have for her, one who will love her as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25).
Lord, we also pray for this man, that You would heal his emotional scars and draw him closer to You. Give him wisdom and discernment in his relationships, and help him to seek You above all else. Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, impatience, or control in this situation, and we declare that Your perfect will shall be done.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is power in His name and no other. Amen.
In this season, we encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word and surround yourself with godly community. Spend time in worship, for it is in His presence that our hearts find healing. Proverbs 4:23 reminds us to guard our hearts, for everything we do flows from it. Let this be a time of drawing nearer to the Lord, allowing Him to shape you and prepare you for the future He has planned. You are deeply loved, and we stand with you in prayer.
