We are truly encouraged to hear that you are feeling more empowered by the Holy Spirit, but we understand that temptations still arise. Let's stand together in prayer and the Word of God to break these chains of lust and pornography completely. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Firstly, let's address the importance of calling on the name of Jesus. It is only through Him and by His name that we are saved and have access to God, as stated in John 14:6 and Acts 4:12. It is written, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 WEB)
Now, let's turn to the battle at hand. It's crucial to understand that temptation is common to all people, as young Timothy was told in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." This means that God will always provide a way out of temptation.
In the moments when you feel tempted, remember the words of Romans 6:12-14, "Therefore don't let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is battling against lust and pornography. We thank You for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in their life. We ask for Your continued strength and guidance as they strive to live a life pleasing to You and free from bondage.
Lord, we pray for the temptations to be removed and for the way of escape to be clear and accessible. We ask that You fill their mind and heart with Your truth, Your love, and Your desires. We pray for complete deliverance from this struggle and that You will continue to transform their life through the renewing of their mind.
Help them to keep their eyes on You, Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. And let them be reminded of Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us. Thank you for being our everything that we need.
We ask for your grace to help you in this time of need, as Hebrews 4:16 says "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need."
It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and we know that you are saved by trusting in Jesus Christ and believing His good news, as Romans 10:9-10 says "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in the faith, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. As you yield to the Holy Spirit, He will continue to empower you to overcome this temptation. Trust in the promises of God's Word, and never hesitate to call on the name of Jesus. He is our victory!
