We stand with you, sister, in your desire to leave your past behind and embrace the love and commitment you share with your husband. We're here to lift you up in prayer, just as we would if we were sitting beside you.
Let's remember that God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Trust in His power to break the chains of your past. He promises, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh" (Ezekiel 36:26).
Let's also recall that God is the one who unites a husband and wife, saying, "For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh" (Genesis 2:24). Ask Him to strengthen and deepen your bond with your husband, making you one in heart, mind, and spirit.
Lastly, when unwanted thoughts come, remember the words of Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." With God's help, you can take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.
