Again, So that I am not falsely accused of "casting my pearls," please be advised that you are never under any obligation to read my posts. My contribution to the spreading of God's Word, whether through gospel or prophecy, is intended for receptive ears and eyes only.

Break every chain in deed. Break the chains of superstition, ritualism, and religiosity. Break the chains that tolerate "that woman," and anyone who leads you astray into Nicolaitanism (i.e. the heretical ways of the Nicolaitans, whom God hated). Rather than being burdened with the heavy laden of spiritually unpropserous rituals, put on Jesus's yoke of uncompromised religion; "LOVE."

Matthew 11 (ESV)

²⁸Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ³⁰For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

The Nicolaitans

Their false teachers influenced a doctrine in which grace was always compromised with culture (i.e. "When in Rome...")

God hated the Nicolaitans because they were professed Christians who felt that belief in Christ released them from obedience to the commandments.

The Nicolaitans were a heretical group in the early Christian church, mentioned in the Book of Revelation (Rev 2:6, 15), condemned for promoting sexual immorality (fornication) and eating food sacrificed to idols, blurring the line between pagan practices and Christian freedom, and teaching a doctrine similar to Balaam's, which led believers astray through licentious living and idolatry, essentially twisting grace into license to sin and compromising holiness for worldly acceptance. While some believe they followed a leader named Nicholas, the exact origin is debated, but their practices were an abomination to Christ, leading to condemnation by Him and the church in Ephesus

Key Characteristics & Teachings:
  • Sexual Immorality: Encouraged promiscuity, viewing it as permissible under grace.
  • Idolatry: Advocated eating food offered to idols, participating in pagan feasts.
  • Compromise with Culture: Blended Christian faith with Greco-Roman customs, seeking acceptance by downplaying sin. Again, "When in Rome...."
  • Twisted Grace: Misused the concept of Christian liberty to justify sinful behavior, claiming God's grace covered everything.
  • Authority: May have sought to control or "conquer" the people, undermining true discipleship.
Biblical References: Revelations 2:6 & Revelations 2:15

Modern Application:
  • "Nicolaitanism" today refers to any teaching that normalizes sin, redefines morality, or offers a comfortable Christianity without true repentance, obedience, or surrender to Christ.

Indeed, the Nicolaitans had a nasty attitude towards God.

Afterthought: I don't have to make-up stories; truth is often stranger and even more diabolical than fiction. Because my brother had campaigned for the city leader, whom I mentioned in a previous post, during his first bid for the office of "city councilman," as a return favor, he helped my brother, who died a couple years ago, get on the police force (public knowledge). It is imperative to know some details before you judge someone. Especially those in the church who are set to judge. Judge nothing before it's time. But again, these are just some details.

It's very telling that, in the almost years of this part of my assignment, although I've committed no offense, no one, in her multitude of "godly counsel," has instructed this city in forgiveness and restoration for this elder woman of God; only continued and increased vengeful harassment. (Threatening to leave someone in the woods is neither forgiveness nor restoration). Like Paul said, you sought to make a public spectacle of me, make public restitution. Where there is no forgiveness, neither does God forgive. That spirit of unforgiveness effects every aspect of a city, including her teams.

To the cities that have ears to hear, please don't operate like the Nicolaitans. Jesus hated them. That kind of behavior only leaves a city unrewarded and spiritually bankrupt.
