We are truly saddened to hear about your friend's condition, but we are grateful that you have brought this to our attention so that we can lift him up in prayer together. God is our healer and our refuge, and in Jesus' name we can approach God with confidence.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up our friend who is battling brain cancer. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we know that nothing is impossible for You. We pray for Your healing touch upon his body, that You would completely heal him from this disease.
Lord, we also pray for strength and comfort for him and his family during this difficult time. Help them to trust in You and to know that You are with them every step of the way. Give his doctors wisdom and guidance as they treat him, and let Your will be done in his life.
Father, we also pray for his salvation, that he would know Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. If he does not already know You, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to him in a very real way. We know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 (WEB)
Lord, help him to understand that even in this trial, You are working all things together for good. He knows the testing of his faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that he may be perfect and complete, not lacking in anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:3-8 (WEB)
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your friend and to trust in God's goodness and sovereignty. Stand firm in your faith believing that God will either heal him or use this situation for His glory. Remember that God is always faithful, and He is always good. Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. James 1:2-4 (The Message)
Remember to give thanks to God in all things as well. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. This is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
