Good and Faithful Servant
I recently posted this: "Please pray about this: my boyfriend earned a bonus at work but it has not been paid out to him at all. He brought this up with his manager and the manager claimed that the proof of him earning the bonus may have been deleted out of the system and asked him for proof that he hadn't received it and that he had earned it. He submitted that proof and his manager still hasn't gotten back to him in days. He and I trained together with a large group at this job (we work together; we work at a huge company that is nationally known) and myself and others who started at the job at the same time have seemingly all not heard anything ourselves about the bonuses that WE earned either. My boyfriend earned the biggest bonus out of all of us and possibly out of the whole company during the period that he earned it. Please pray about all this. I'm not sure if the company doesn't have the funds to pay us or what. I looked up the company's reviews and apparently other employees in other departments have not been paid for bonuses they earned either. This company has a lot of potential but is run terribly. My boyfriend has health conditions and cannot handle a lot of stress. Although he is excelling at this job, I have been praying that God would lead him to another less stressful job opportunity that would allow him to, Lordwilling, meet the professional goals he wants to meet. He told me yesterday that his old job reached out to him to recruit him to come back and they'd be paying him more than what we earn at our current job and offering him a very large bonus. He's prayerfully considering it. Please pray about all this." Well, my boyfriend's manager is continuing to not mention his bonus to him (he's at work right now) and he is considering going over his manager and contacting his manager's boss directly about it. Please pray for him to have wisdom and that God would lead him to the right decision. Thank you.

We hear your concern and lift this situation before the Lord with heavy hearts, for it touches on matters of justice, provision, and the well-being of your boyfriend, both physically and spiritually. First, we must address the foundational issue in this request: the relationship you describe as "boyfriend" falls short of God’s design for holy matrimony. Scripture is clear that marriage is the only God-ordained context for romantic relationships, where a man and woman become one flesh in covenant before the Lord (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5-6). Courtship should always have the goal of marriage, not merely companionship or emotional fulfillment. We urge you both to prayerfully consider this and seek God’s will for your relationship, aligning it with His Word.

Now, regarding the unpaid bonus, we recognize the injustice in this situation. The Bible commands fair wages and condemns those who withhold what is rightfully earned: "You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the foreigners who are in your land within your gates. You shall give him his wages on the day he earns them, before the sun goes down, for he is poor and counts on it; lest he cry against you to Yahweh, and it be sin to you" (Deuteronomy 24:14-15). Your boyfriend’s employer is accountable to God for this, and we pray for conviction and repentance in their leadership.

We also lift up your boyfriend’s health and stress levels. The Lord cares deeply for his well-being, and we pray for His peace to guard his heart and mind (Philippians 4:6-7). The offer from his former employer may indeed be a provision from God, but we encourage him to seek the Lord’s wisdom above all else. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5). If he chooses to escalate the issue with his manager’s supervisor, may he do so with humility, integrity, and a spirit of reconciliation (Matthew 18:15-17).

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. Lord, we lift up this situation to You, asking for Your justice to prevail. Convict the hearts of those responsible for withholding what is rightfully earned, and grant them the integrity to make it right. We pray for Your provision over this family, that You would open doors of opportunity that align with Your will. Father, we ask for wisdom for this young man as he navigates this challenge, give him clarity, peace, and discernment in every decision. Protect his health and guard him from stress and anxiety. Lord, we also pray for this relationship, that You would guide them both toward Your design for marriage, if it is Your will. May they honor You in all things, seeking first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. We trust in Your faithfulness, knowing that You are a God who sees and cares for the details of our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you both to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and Scripture, trusting that He will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6). If this company continues to act unjustly, it may be a sign that God is leading your boyfriend elsewhere. Keep your hearts open to His leading, and may He bless you both with His peace and provision.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We've been thinking about you both and the weight of this waiting, the unanswered messages, the bonus that sits in limbo, the unfairness of having to prove something that everyone knows he earned. That kind of pressure can feel especially heavy when it keeps dragging on with no resolution in sight.

What we most want to honor in this is your care for your boyfriend's health. You mentioned he can't handle a lot of stress, and right now he's carrying the tension of a workplace that seems to have a pattern of not following through. That chronic, low-grade pressure can wear a person down in ways that aren't always obvious in the moment, interrupted sleep, a tighter jaw, less patience, a creeping exhaustion. None of that is trivial, and we're glad you're watching out for him.

One thing worth holding onto: the company's treatment of this bonus isn't a reflection of his worth. He excelled. He earned the largest one. That reality stands regardless of whether his manager ever admits it. Sometimes systems are broken in ways that have nothing to do with us, and the frustration we feel is a valid response to real unfairness.

The fact that his old job reached out, unprompted, offering more pay and a large bonus, that feels significant. Not as some magical sign, but as a genuine open door worth prayerfully considering. Sometimes a workplace that already knows your value is a truer picture of how God provides than squeezing recognition from a place that keeps stalling.

A practical thought: before going over his manager's head, he might give one last, calm, written follow-up, brief, factual, referencing the proof he already submitted, and naming a date by which he'll feel he needs to escalate if he hears nothing. That gives the manager a final chance without surprise conflict, and it creates a clean paper trail. After that, he can decide with a clearer conscience whether to push further or simply walk toward what's being offered elsewhere.

Lord, you see this couple and the stress they're under. Give this man wisdom that cuts through the noise, help him discern whether to press for the bonus or to let it go and step into something healthier. Guard his body from the toll of prolonged tension. Let it be resolved soon and fairly. And if the old job is the path you're opening, give him peace to take it. In Jesus' name.

Trials concerning earthly substance soon teach us the vanity of trusting in uncertain riches. This business of the bonus, so vexing and unjust, is but a thistle in the field of this life. Yet be not soon shaken in mind; the Lord is Judge of the oppressed, and He will make good His promise, I will repay, saith the Lord.

Let the young man take heed concerning the offer to return to his former place. The prospect of larger pay and an ample bonus may glitter, but let him weigh the matter in the balances of the sanctuary. Is that former station a place where he can serve God without compromise? Does it afford him a quiet spirit and health of body? Or would he be exchanging one set of snares for another? The path of wisdom is often counter to the world’s course. Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God; where He leads is always best, even when the way seems rough.

I would earnestly press upon him the necessity of a clear decision. A wavering man is a ship without a rudder, driven by every wind. Faith brings a man to a firm resolve. Let him not linger, for delay often hardens into disobedience. Hesitation and wavering can answer no purpose, but a prompt decision is, in every way, commendable. Let him, like Moses, choose rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt.

As for the stress that wears upon him, remember the body is the soul’s lodging, and a broken spirit drieth the bones. Yet God is able to heal and restore. Commend the future unto the Lord, and be not careful for the morrow. The one great care is to be found in Christ, resting in His finished work.

I join my petitions with yours that the Lord would guide him in a plain path, and that you both might seek first the Kingdom of God, wherein are true riches and honour eternal.

The anxiety over unpaid wages and the lure of a larger bonus are but shadows of a deeper struggle. Do not call these earthly payments "good things" as if they were true riches. What are money and bonuses but fleeting dust? The company may act unjustly; many have seen such dishonesty.

Yet do not judge hastily by appearances, for the Lord sees all hidden things. If your boyfriend has given honest labor, trust that God, who feeds the ravens, will provide. But beware of making decisions solely for financial gain. A higher salary and a large bonus may seem like deliverance, but if they inflame the desire for more, they become a snare.

"Make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts." Seek only what is needful for health and godly living, not what feeds avarice. Remember the rich man who received his good things here and afterwards suffered torment. Let your boyfriend weigh this offer prayerfully: Will it draw him nearer to Christ or entangle him further in worldly cares? Encourage him not to be consumed by stress over what is owed; that is to wear chains of gold while the soul is in fetters.

Rather, put on Christ, and let Mammon have no hold. If he must act, let it be with integrity and without wrath, preferring the peace of a quiet spirit to all the bonuses of this world. The true treasure is in heaven, where no manager can delete what God has stored up for the righteous.

It weighs heavy on the heart to see a need for integrity left unresolved, especially when it stirs so much stress for someone you care about. You are both dealing with a situation where what is fair and earned seems held back with no clear explanation, and that kind of uncertainty grinds away at peace, more so when health is already fragile. I will certainly lift this up in prayer.

When we face things like this, it is easy for the mind to race toward the worst fears about the company, about the managers, about the future. But remember that wisdom does not come from our panic; it comes from the Lord. The call right now is not to understand every hidden detail of why this delay has happened, but to trust the One who sees it all. God is never distracted, never forgets, and never withholds without purpose. That does not mean every hardship is a mark of his displeasure, any more than Job’s trials were a mark of his. The error of those well-meaning but misguided friends in the book of Job was to assume that outward trouble must signal hidden sin. They piled confusion onto a man who was already crushed, when what he needed was to be pointed back toward God, not accused.

So let me gently encourage you both to resist the whisper that says this cannot be set right unless a human manager acts. Go higher with it, yes, but first in prayer. Ask the Father for clear direction, for a spirit of composure rather than reaction, and for the right words if your boyfriend decides to approach the next level of authority. God grants wisdom generously to those who ask without doubting. He is not threatened by our confusion; he invites us to cast the burden on him.

As for the offer from the former employer, that is worth bringing before the Lord with open hands. A door that opens does not always mean it is God’s will to walk through it, but it is worth prayerful consideration. Do not let the present frustration push you into a decision just to escape discomfort. The same God who sees the withheld bonus also orders our steps. True wisdom is to fear him and turn from what is evil, which includes bitterness, panic, and resentment. If your boyfriend’s health requires a different pace, bring that honestly before the Lord. He knows our frame; he remembers we are dust.

In the end, God’s purposes are never thwarted by a broken system or a slow manager. Job never got a full explanation for why he suffered; what he received was a deeper revelation of who God is, and that was enough. Pray that above the bonus, above the job change, the answer you both receive is a clearer sight of his faithfulness. That is the foundation from which all other decisions can be made calmly. I am standing with you in prayer for that peace and for his clear leading.
