We have heard your cry about earthly bondage and we bring it together before the throne of grace in Jesus name.

We understand this burden of feeling tied down and held captive by the things of this world whether it be sin or fear or love of money or possessions or habits or oppression from others. The Word of God teaches that this world and its desires are passing away and that we were not created to remain slaves to them. For you will know the truth and the truth will make you free John 8:32 and If therefore the Son makes you free you will be free indeed John 8:36. We are also warned Do not love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world the Father's love is not in him 1 John 2:15 and we are called to Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage Galatians 5:1. For Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty 2 Corinthians 3:17 and we know that he delivered us out of the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love Colossians 1:13.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus and we must lovingly tell you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and freedom from all bondage. Jesus said to him I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not yet done so we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is by turning from sin and trusting in the finished work of Jesus on the cross that the chains of earthly bondage are truly broken for But now being made free from sin and having become servants of God you have your fruit of sanctification and the result of eternal life Romans 6:22.

We rebuke together every chain of earthly bondage that seeks to hold you captive and every love of the world that entangles your heart and we ask the Lord to set you free indeed.

Father we come together in the name of Jesus Christ your Son and we lift up this dear one who feels bound by earthly things. We ask for your forgiveness where there has been trust in the world rather than in you and we ask for your deliverance. Break every yoke and let your Spirit bring liberty. Fill this heart with your peace and teach this dear one to seek first your Kingdom and to walk in the freedom Christ has purchased. Help this dear one to daily renew the mind through your Word and to walk as a servant of God and not a slave to sin or to this present world. We ask that you lead this dear one into fellowship with faithful believers who will encourage growth and accountability. We pray all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord Amen.

We encourage you to remain in prayer and in the Word each day and to turn away from whatever specifically holds you bound and to bring it into the light with a trusted pastor or mature believer. Do not be discouraged for God is faithful to complete the good work he has begun and his desire is for you to live in the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Thank you for being honest about feeling bound. We know how discouraging it can be to want freedom and still feel stuck in the same patterns.

One thing that has helped many we walk with is recognizing that freedom is usually less a single moment and more a daily walk. Old habits that have been practiced for years are not replaced overnight. New patterns of thinking and living, shaped by knowing who we are in Christ, take time and repetition, with the Spirit's help and with others walking beside us.

If you are carrying this alone, we would encourage you not to. Consider reaching out this week to one trusted pastor or mature believer in your church for ongoing conversation, not just a one time talk. It can also help to be part of a small group where you can be honest, receive prayer, and keep taking the next faithful step. Simply naming the struggle out loud to someone safe can loosen some of its power.

We are praying for you.

Jesus, we bring our friend to You and ask for Your mercy and strength. You see where they feel bound and weary. Give courage to reach out, wisdom for each next step, and a growing sense of Your love and nearness as they walk toward freedom. Lead and keep them. In Your name we pray, amen.

Christ in bonds is the ground of hope for all who feel earthly bondage pressing hard upon them. Our Lord Jesus Christ was bound in the court of Caiaphas, a King in chains, an Ambassador in bonds, and there flows from that fact its blessed opposite, that His people are all free. When He was made a curse for us, He became a blessing to us. When He died, then we lived.

You speak of bondage, and many know what it is to be held fast by circumstances, by infirmity, by sin, or by fear. Yet take down your harps from the willows, for Jesus Christ loosens the prisoners. He is the Lord, the Liberator. He comes to set the captives free and to glorify Himself in them. True consolation, such as can reach the heart, can be found nowhere save in Christ, who came down from heaven and has ascended to heaven. Look to Him and see if there be not comfort in Christ.

Your life is not dependent upon yourself, but is safe in your Lord. Death as to the body is the body separated from the soul, and the death of the soul lies in the soul being separated from its God. But in His favour is life. As surely as you have eternal life by reason of faith in Christ Jesus, so surely shall you reach its fullness when Christ who is your life shall appear. Without Him you can do nothing, yet with Christ in you there is the hope of glory. Christ in you, that is Christ accepted by faith, Christ possessed, Christ experienced, is worth a world. Gold is valuable, but a pound in the pocket is more useful than ingots in the vault, and so Christ must be yours, dwelling in your heart by faith.

Therefore do not go back into bondage, or sit still as though you were in prison. Rejoice in the liberty which Christ has purchased with His own bonds. The right of a sinner to come to Christ does not lie in the sinner, nor in any feelings he may have, but in the fact that Christ commands him to come. Though your faith be but as a grain of mustard seed, yet if you have a simple faith in Christ, you are safe. The natural and inevitable fruit of that faith is holiness, for He cleanses not only from the guilt but from the dominion and habit of sin.

We pray for you now, that the Lord would show you your perfection in Christ Jesus, washed in His blood, clothed with His righteousness, united to His person, and that you would see the splendour of the love of God in the face of Christ Jesus. May you be delivered from every chain that binds you, may you walk in newness of life, and may you find that Christ in you is indeed the hope of glory. Trust Him, rest in Him, and live to His praise.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request concerning earthly bondage has been heard and brought before the Lord with prayer.

There are many who feel the weight and shame of earthly bondage very sharply, whether it be poverty, hard service to others, debt, or the pressure of worldly cares, and yet feel little for that other bondage which is far more grievous. The Scriptures teach that the most serious slavery is not slavery to men or to circumstances, but slavery to sin. To be in bondage to sin is to dwell as a servant who does not abide in the house, while the Son abides forever. Only the Son who is master of the Father's house has power to forgive sins and to make a person truly free, and if the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

Christ came for this very purpose, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to go up on high and lead captivity captive. What He offers is not only relief from outward hardship, but freedom from corruption itself and from the worldly lusts that act as idols in the heart. Whatever is useful only for this present life and perishes with it, love of money, love of honor, love of ease, can hold the soul in chains. To be earthly is not simply to be born of earth, for the Lord Himself took our nature, but to do earthly things. To become heavenly is to do those things that are fitting for heaven, to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, to turn from them with the same distance and aversion as one would turn from an idol.

We pray for you that God, who alone can forgive sins, would grant you this true freedom. We ask Him to root the love of Christ deeply in your heart, for it is faith working through love that keeps us from returning to bondage, and to give you contempt for wealth and glory where they compete with Him, and fortitude and careful hearing of His word. Even if the earthly house of this tabernacle is pressed and groans under trial, we have hope of a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. He can free you the sooner from bondage to corruption and teach you to live soberly and righteously in this present world while looking for that eternal home.

May the Lord grant you grace to deny every ungodly and worldly desire, to walk as one delivered by the Son, and to find that even in the midst of earthly hardship, you are no longer a slave but a son in His house, kept by His power and love.
