Beloved Warrior
🙇🏻 Father, thank You for giving mercy and grace in times of need, Heb 4:16, past and now in present. Though we may yet need grace to confess in the future, we rather prefer to be done with all future sin, and if there were a button to push representing that ability, we'd gladly do it without delay or hesitation... Yet since no such button exists, and the best of humans are still "humanity," we do are content with what we have, namely prescriptions for the humble remedy, and promises of not only cleansing, 1 Jn 1:9 but even contentment in Your presence, Heb 13:5, and promises of holiness, which we inherit by faith, Heb 4:2, even promises to do no wrong, 2 Cor 13:7, not stumble in what we say and control the whole body, James 3:2, even to walk as Jesus Himself, 1 Jn 2:6, 1 Jn 4:17. We continue the remedy of our misuse of the instrument we were given to glorify God and edify others, in confession and repentance, for sanctification both a one-time act and an ongoing work of participation with the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, Matt 3:8, Phil 2:12-13, 1 Tim 4:16, so we agree with Your admonition to confess our sins to one another and pray for each other that we may be healed, James 5:16 -- maybe that's how through boasting in our weaknesses 2 Cor 12:9 by faith from weaknesses we are made strong, Heb 11:32-34. So in obedience to Your teaching through Hosea, we, "Take words with you, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, 'Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips as bulls" Hos 14:2.

📝 Lord, I've missed Your warnings, not hearkened to Your Spirit's leading, haven't taken the way of escape in every occurrence. I've dealt with things unrighteously, sinned and fallen short of Your glorious image, Rom 3:23, Gen 1:27, Matt 5:48, Eph 5:1. I've lacked love, have gotten "in the flesh," have said and typed things in with a mixture of emotions, even in anger, that even while true have either lacked love or forgotten the foundation of equality for the sake of Christ, Eph 5:21, maybe both or all of the following: I have done things mixed with pride and empty conceit, and in times of pain have said, spoken, typed, forwarded and done things to further my own interests or unrighteous emotions, rather than considering the interests of others, and lacked the attitude of Christ's humility that prefers my neighbor's advantage, and forgotten to treat others as more important than myself, Phil 2:3-5. Such actions and attitudes that display such mixture tainted with the anger of man do not achieve the righteousness of God, James 1:19-20. Therefore, not using my bodily members as instruments of righteousness consistently, I've been a man of unclean lips, Isa 6:5.

Since our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and as for our iniquities, we know them, transgressing and denying Yahweh, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood, Isa 59:12-13, at time, "Surely I have spoken of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know, therefore I despise my sins, and I repent from them in dust and ashes," Job 42:3, Job 42:6. Yet though You've disciplined me severely, You haven't given me over to death, Ps 118:18. I can say with the Psalmist, "It was good for me to be afflicted that I might learn the way of Your Commands," Ps 119:71. Let me make the most of Your discipline, knowing it's end result has many ends in mind, sanctification being a chief one, Even Jesus being the author, ἀρχηγὸν, ultimate architect, pioneer and engineer of our salvation, perfected through suffering, Heb 2:10, on earth and in flesh, the proving ground of obedience, becoming the ultimate fountain of salvation, Heb 5:8-9. Surely, there is One found Worthy, Rev 5:9.

Though beyond human capacity to bear at times tribulation transfers every drop of hope to You alone who raise the dead, 2 Cor 1:8-9, produces patience leading to maturity that we may also be complete, James 1:2-3, and though not pleasant at present, afterward yields not only perseverance, proven character but an abiding hope that does not disappoint, even granting assurance through The Holy Spirit of Adoption, Rom 5:3-5. May trials yield a harvest of peaceful fruit and righteousness, Heb 12:11, even an everlasting quietness and confidence, Isa 32:17, an everlasting crown of life, James 1:12, and ability to reign with You, as You overcame and reign in truth, humility and justice, Ps 45:4, Rev 3:19-21, Rev 21:7. We ask for grace to renew our minds, Rom 12:2, to rejoice in all these things knowing we are presently blessed and understanding their end is eternal reward, Matt 5:10-12, and that Your Intention is to work it all together for good, Rom 8:28, because You are indeed Gracious and Compassionate, Ex 34:4-5, as we see You were with Job, James 1:12. Let us pray for others and others pray for us knowing You have brought us through trials before, You will do so again, and that prayers are powerful and effective, 2 Cor 1:10-11, especially when we confess our struggles and sins to one another and pray for each other, Your promise is the prayers are powerful and effective, James 5:15-16, even as Elijah's, James 5:17-18... Continued below while abiding in Jesus Christ and His Words, John 15:1-8, and His Life Giving Words of The Holy Spirit, John 6:63, His Name being the only Name given under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, He being the One God and Mediator between God and Man, 1 Tim 2:5, in The Power of Attorney given by us His Position and Command, Mt 18:18, we ask in Jesus' Name, John 14:13-14.

[1] “What to say and how to say it,” John 12:49 — Historical Comments... What to say (εϊπω) and how to say it (λαλήσω) -- (dicam) and (loquar), Latin Vulgate, are supposed to discriminate matter (content) and form (style of speech), as another commentator says, “My words and their manner and tone are all of them the outcome of the Father's (ἐντολὴ) command (John 12:49 Commentaries: "For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak.).

The word εἰπεῖν relates to the words as spoken successively; λέγειν refers to the sentiment and connection of the words.

The former relating to the SUBSTANCE, and the latter to the FORM of Jesus' utterances.

"See we not that He brings His expressions with an excess of humility, that He may both win them over, and silence those who would look to persecute Him. This is why He utters words appropriate to humanity, that He may help us bridge the severity of the sayings, as being conscious that the words belong not to Him, but The Father, and are thus tailored, even suited to the weakness of the hearers," John Crysostom, c. 347 – 14 September 407)[6] was a Church Father who served as Archbishop of Constantinople. John Chrysostom

We hear your heartfelt cry of repentance and your deep longing to walk in holiness before the Lord. Your words reflect a soul that has been disciplined by the Lord, yet clings to His grace with humility and faith. We stand with you in agreement, lifting up your confession before the throne of God, where mercy and forgiveness flow freely for those who come in sincerity.

You have rightly acknowledged that none of us are without sin, for "all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Yet, the beauty of the Gospel is that where sin abounds, grace abounds even more (Romans 5:20). Your desire to be done with sin entirely is a godly one, for our Lord calls us to be perfect, even as our Heavenly Father is perfect (Matthew 5:48). Though we stumble, His grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We rejoice that you are not content to remain in sin but are pressing forward toward the high calling of Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).

You have confessed struggles with anger, pride, and speaking words that do not edify or reflect the love of Christ. The tongue is indeed a restless evil, full of deadly poison (James 3:8), but the Lord can set it on fire with His righteousness. Let us pray that He would bridle your tongue, that your words may be seasoned with grace (Colossians 4:6) and that you would speak only what the Father gives you to say (John 12:49). The discipline you have endured is not without purpose, for "no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it" (Hebrews 12:11). We rejoice that you are allowing the Lord to use these trials to refine you, knowing that suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4).

Your acknowledgment of Christ as the only Worthy One (Revelation 5:9) and the sole Mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5) is a firm foundation. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and it is by His blood alone that we are cleansed from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7). We encourage you to continue abiding in Him, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). Let His Word dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16), and let the Holy Spirit guide your steps, for He will lead you into all truth (John 16:13).

We also lift up your desire to walk in love and humility, considering others as more important than yourself (Philippians 2:3-4). This is the mind of Christ, who, though He was God, humbled Himself to the point of death on a cross (Philippians 2:5-8). May the Lord grant you the grace to put off the old self with its deceitful desires and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:22-24). Let your speech always be gracious, as though seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone (Colossians 4:6).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother who has poured out his heart before You, confessing his sins and his deep desire to walk in Your ways. Lord, we thank You for Your mercy and grace that are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). We thank You that You are faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Father, we ask that You would continue Your sanctifying work in his life. Where there has been anger, replace it with Your peace. Where there has been pride, replace it with humility. Where words have been spoken in haste or with unrighteous motives, let them be seasoned with grace and love. Lord, set a guard over his mouth and keep watch over the door of his lips (Psalm 141:3). Let the words of his mouth and the meditation of his heart be pleasing in Your sight (Psalm 19:14).

We pray that You would strengthen him in his inner being, that Christ may dwell in his heart through faith (Ephesians 3:16-17). May he be rooted and established in love, so that he may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ (Ephesians 3:18). Let him know this love that surpasses knowledge, so that he may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19).

Father, we ask that You would continue to discipline him for his good, that he may share in Your holiness (Hebrews 12:10). Let the trials he faces produce perseverance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4). May he rejoice in his sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope (Romans 5:3-4). Let him consider it pure joy whenever he faces trials of many kinds, because he knows that the testing of his faith produces perseverance (James 1:2-3).

Lord, we pray that he would be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:19-20). Let him be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath (James 1:19). May he put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save his soul (James 1:21).

We ask that You would renew his mind, that he may be transformed by the renewing of his mind, so that he may prove what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). Let him take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). May he think on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, let him think about these things (Philippians 4:8).

Father, we pray that he would walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God (Ephesians 5:2). Let him do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than himself (Philippians 2:3). May he look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others (Philippians 2:4).

Lord, we ask that You would fill him with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that he may walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing to You, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:9-10). Strengthen him with all power according to Your glorious might, so that he may have great endurance and patience (Colossians 1:11).

We pray that he would be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might (Ephesians 6:10). Let him put on the full armor of God, so that he may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). May he stand firm, with the belt of truth buckled around his waist, the breastplate of righteousness in place, and his feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:14-15). Let him take up the shield of faith, with which he can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one, and the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:16-17).

Father, we ask that You would grant him the grace to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is Your will for him in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). Let him hold fast the confession of his hope without wavering, for You who promised are faithful (Hebrews 10:23). May he consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as he sees the Day drawing near (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Lord, we pray that he would be filled with the Holy Spirit, walking by the Spirit and not gratifying the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Let the fruit of the Spirit be evident in his life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). May he crucify the flesh with its passions and desires (Galatians 5:24) and live by the Spirit (Galatians 5:25).

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

We encourage you to continue in the path of repentance and faith, knowing that the Lord is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep confessing your sins to one another and praying for one another, that you may be healed (James 5:16). The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective, so let us continue to lift one another up before the throne of grace.

Remember that the Lord disciplines those He loves (Hebrews 12:6), and His discipline is a sign of His love for you. Do not despise His correction, for it is for your good. Instead, embrace it, knowing that it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace (Hebrews 12:11).

Finally, we encourage you to immerse yourself in the Word of God, for it is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Let it dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing you with all wisdom (Colossians 3:16). As you meditate on His Word day and night, you will be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, and its leaf will not wither. Whatever you do will prosper (Psalm 1:2-3).

May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26). Go forth in the strength of the Lord, knowing that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).

We hear the deep longing in your words, the ache to be done with sin, the weariness of repeated failures, and the hope that God’s grace will not only cleanse but actually transform. That very groaning is not despair; it’s the Spirit’s work in you, stirring a holy discontent that won’t let you settle for less than the likeness of Christ. We’re grateful you shared this with us, and we want to sit with you in that place, not rush past it.

You’ve already named the hard truths and quoted the promises. What we find most hopeful is your willingness to take the next real step: confessing to another believer. When you said, “confess our sins to one another and pray for each other that we may be healed,” you pointed to the very thing that can break the isolation where sin festers. Secrets lose their power in the light. Is there a trusted friend, a pastor, or a small group member you could meet with this week, someone safe who will listen without minimizing your struggle or shaming you? Not just to recite the failure again, but to let someone else carry it with you in prayer. That act of humility often becomes the doorway where God supplies the grace we couldn’t seem to find alone.

We also want to gently remind you that sanctification is not a sprint; it’s the Spirit’s patient, ongoing work. The fact that you hate your sin and refuse to make peace with it tells us you are not drifting, you are being disciplined as a beloved child. That discipline may sting, but it is not condemnation. It’s the Father training you for a harvest of quiet righteousness.

Let’s pray together now.

Father, thank You for hearing this honest, aching cry. Thank You that You do not despise a broken and contrite heart. We ask for the courage to bring these struggles into the light with a trusted brother or sister. Grant the humility to receive prayer and the grace to walk in genuine change. Quiet the enemy’s accusations and let the voice of Your mercy be loud. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your confession reveals a soul awake to its fever, and that is no small mercy. You speak of the tongue, that restless member which James calls a fire, and you mourn how quickly it kindles from the heart's unguarded fuel. You say you have spoken with a mixture of emotions, even anger, and that is the very vomit of the soul I have often described. When a man is drunk with wrath, his veins swell, his eyes blaze, and he throws forth words undigested, things fit and unfit, shaming himself before all. But you are not without remedy, for you already name the medicine: silence. When the wild beast of anger rises, do not feed it with fresh logs by answering back. Flee from the enraged, not as an honor to them, but as compassion to yourself. The sailors in a gale bring down the sails, lest the vessel founder. So too, when the wind of another's passion blows hard against you, let down the sails of your own spirit. Cast the dust of silence upon that vomit. In this, your tongue already begins to learn the imitation of Christ, who when reviled did not revile in return but uttered only words full of gentleness and meekness.

You speak also of weakness, that blessed ground where God’s power takes up its dwelling. You feel the thorn of your failings, the repeated stumble in what you say, the pride that lurks even in true words. You wish, as you say, for a button to press and end all future sin, but since this is not given, you must learn what Paul learned: God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness. Paul himself besought the Lord three times that the messenger of Satan might depart from him, and what did he hear? “My grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Mark this: it was not merely permitted, but given as a gift, that Paul might not be exalted but might have God’s power rest upon him. Do you then marvel that you are grieved and wish to be free from these temptations? So did Paul, and he did not obtain removal, but something greater, the presence of Christ Himself in the affliction. He who allows the trial is He who works through it. Even when we do not know it, He befriends us for our profit. So take pleasure then in these infirmities, not as loving sin, but as resting in the hand that uses them to discipline a son. The end of the Lord’s discipline is always peaceable fruit, and though no discipline seems joyful at the time, afterward it yields the quiet harvest of righteousness to those who are trained by it.

Do not think your affliction strange. The apostles themselves entered every city fresh from stripes and shameful treatment, yet waxed bold in their God to speak the gospel in much conflict. The Lord sends us forth as sheep among wolves, and He knows that in this very way we become invincible. It is the bruised reed, not the iron pillar, that shows His upholding strength. So continue the remedy you have begun: confession of your struggles to the faithful, prayers for one another that you may be healed. Boast all the more gladly in your weaknesses, that the power of Christ may tabernacle upon you. There is no other fountain of cleansing and no other architect of your salvation. He was perfected through suffering to become the source of eternal help to all who obey Him. Go forward then with words of repentance taken back to God, as Hosea bids. Render the fruit of lips that confess His name, not as a perfect offering from a spotless heart, for where is such a heart to be found?, but as the returning prodigal’s stammering cry, which the Father runs to embrace before the speech is even finished. Enough for you that His grace is sufficient, and His strength is perfected in your very weakness.
