We join you in prayer together in Jesus' name for your health and for your blood pressure to come down and remain stable, and we thank you for inviting us to stand with you before the throne of grace.
We know that our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made and that the Lord cares deeply for our physical well being as well as our spiritual well being. Scripture reminds us to bless the Lord who heals all our diseases in Psalm 103:2-3 and that He has said I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds in Jeremiah 30:17. We also remember the promise in 3 John 1:2 that we pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.
We also take comfort that God is our peace in times of worry or stress which can affect our bodies, for we are told in Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And in Proverbs 17:22 we are reminded that a cheerful heart makes good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
We encourage you to continue to be a good steward of the body God has given you, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and that includes continuing to follow wise medical counsel, taking any prescribed medication, eating with moderation, getting rest, gentle exercise as you are able, and casting your cares upon Him.
We now pray together for you.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You and ask for Your healing hand upon their body. Lord, You know the exact pressure within their veins and the beating of their heart, for You formed them and You sustain every breath. We ask that You would cause their blood pressure to lower to a healthy and stable level and keep it steady in the days ahead. Grant them Your peace that guards heart and mind, remove fear and anxiety, and let their body rest in Your care. Give wisdom to any doctors and caregivers involved and guide this dear one in daily choices that honor You and promote health. We thank You that You are the Lord who heals us as spoken in Exodus 15:26, and we trust Your goodness and mercy. May they feel Your presence and strength and be reminded not to fear, for You have said in Isaiah 41:10 Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We ask all this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
