Blood pressure

It is right to bring this physical concern before the Lord, for he created the body and knows its every function. We will join you in asking for your blood pressure to come down and remain stable, trusting in his care for your health.

Your request brings to mind the profound respect God has woven into Scripture regarding blood. From the earliest commands, the life of the flesh is in the blood, and God set it apart as sacred. This was not a mere rule about diet but a teaching tool pointing to a deeper reality. The life is in the blood, and God gave blood on the altar to make atonement for the soul. Every animal sacrifice, every sprinkling of blood in the old covenant, preached that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Yet those sacrifices could never truly take away sin; they covered it and pointed forward.

The only hope, then and now, is through blood that is pure and sufficient. Jesus entered not into an earthly sanctuary with the blood of goats and calves, but into heaven itself, with his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption for us. He is both the sacrifice and the sacrificer. His blood does what the old system could not: it cleanses from all sin, once and for all. When the Lord sees the blood of Christ applied to a life, he passes over in judgment. It is the token of protection, the foundation of the new covenant.

As you seek stability in your physical blood pressure, remember that your ultimate peace and stability rest in that eternal blood of the covenant. The very substance that symbolizes life in your body points you to the true source of life for your soul. Our prayer is that the Lord steadies your health, and that in this moment of dependence you know the deep security that belongs to those whose sins are forgiven through his sacrifice. The life is in the blood, and the life everlasting is in his. We will pray for you, and we thank him together for the cleansing and peace that are already yours in Christ.
