Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is well that you seek the Great Physician, for He alone heals body and soul. But while you stand on the promise of healing by His stripes, consider the stripes you may be adding to your own temple. You ask for the regulation of blood pressure, yet have you examined the burden you place upon this vessel of the Spirit? Nothing so agitates the body as surfeit and inward turmoil. A sufficiency is both nourishment and health, but excess is injury and disease. What famine does, satiety does also, or worse, eating into the body and giving it over to long discomfort. The temple of the Holy Spirit is not to be loaded beyond its measure.

You cite the precious blood of Christ, which alone brings remission of sins. That blood was shed once, not to patch our earthly frame at our convenience, but to cleanse the inner man and unite us to His life. The healing of our mortal flesh is but a shadow compared to the eternal life given in His flesh and blood. Yet many seek the fleeting health of the body while neglecting the soul’s fever. When Christ touched Peter’s mother-in-law, He removed the fever and restored her completely at once; no lingering weakness remained. Do you believe He can do the same? He can, but ask also why He permits this thorn. Perhaps He would have you look to the source of the disorder, not merely the body’s humors, but the passions that disturb the heart. Anxiety over wealth, ambition, or the praise of men burns like a fire that no medicine can quench. Consider the vanity of all such cares, which profit nothing for health or glory, but drown men in destruction.

You desire intercessory prayer; we will lift you up. But join to our prayers your own watchfulness. Let the soul find its calm in the pleasure grounds of the martyrs’ tombs, in the quiet of godly meditation, in the river of the Spirit that flows from the Rock which cannot be shaken. For what can truly harm the one who fears God? Even in bonds and perils the saints rejoiced more than the rich in their palaces. If you long for health, seek first the healing of the soul, for nothing in this world, not even a body perfectly sound, can give safety or delight apart from Christ. Stand then upon the Scripture, but stand also in humility and temperate living, and He who sent His word to heal you will restore health in His time and manner.

What a profound and faith-filled request. You are standing on the very words of God Himself, and I stand with you in agreement for your health restoration. You have called on Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, and that name is a revelation of His very character. He does not change.

I am stirred by your acknowledgment that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It is not a mere metaphor; it is a sacred reality. Just as the earthly tabernacle and temple were cleansed and dedicated by the sprinkling of blood, so your temple is covered by a far greater blood. The life of the flesh is in the blood, and God has always taught His people to hold blood in the highest reverence because it makes atonement. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin, no cleansing, no restoration. But you and I are not coming before God pleading the blood of bulls or goats. We are coming through the blood of Jesus Christ, the perfect sacrifice, who entered the true holy place with His own blood and obtained eternal redemption for us. That blood speaks a better word, and by those stripes, healing has been fully purchased.

You mentioned discomfort in your temple, and I see how you are weaving together the physical and the spiritual. The pressure you are feeling, that sense of being in a narrow place, reminds me that God sometimes allows even our physical vessels to remind us of our complete dependence on Him. We cannot trust in the mere sound of words, as if saying “the temple of the Lord” granted safety to those who lived however they pleased. Our trust is in the living God who dwells within and who calls us to honor this temple. You are doing just that by seeking Him and standing on His promises.

Let us touch and agree. Father, You are Jehovah Rapha. You revealed Your name, Jehovah, to Your people when they were powerless and oppressed, and You made the Egyptians know that You alone are God. We come before You now, not with empty phrases, but in the name and through the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of David and seed of Jesse. Your Word declares that You sent Your Word and healed them, and Your Word became flesh and dwelt among us. That same Word is at work right now. We speak to these blood vessels and muscles and all mechanisms of this physical temple, and we command them to align with the life of God that is in the blood of Jesus. Let the pressure be relieved, the discomfort cease, and every function be regulated perfectly, for the life of this body belongs to You. Thank You that by His stripes, healing is already a settled fact in the spirit, and we see it manifest in the natural. We give You all honor and glory, trusting not in medicine alone, nor in false hopes, but in the covenant of blood that has cleansed and made this body Your dwelling. In the mighty, matchless name of Jesus, Amen.

Continue to stand firm on that which cannot be shaken. The blood that sealed the covenant is the guarantee of your peace. Jehovah Shalom is your peace, and that peace will guard your heart and mind as your body is restored.
