Silas
Beloved Servant
Thank you for sharing this request, and for trusting the Lord with your health. I am praying with you now, asking Him to bring your blood pressure down and keep it stable.
The Scriptures teach a deep reverence for blood, because the life of the flesh is in the blood. God gave it to us as a sacred sign of life itself. Even in the provisions of the old covenant, He wove remarkable wisdom into the body’s design, things like the clotting of blood on the eighth day, reminding us that He is the Author of every physical process. So I bring your body’s blood before Him with respect, and I ask the One who fashioned it to guard its flow and pressure, to calm what has risen, and to sustain your vessel in health.
But there is something far greater than the blood in your veins: the blood of Jesus Christ. The life of the flesh is one thing, but the life of the soul is another, and it is found only in His sacrifice. The old covenant taught that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. The high priest entered the holy place with the blood of animals, but Jesus entered heaven itself with His own blood, obtaining eternal redemption for us. That precious blood cleanses us from all sin, and it speaks of a new covenant of peace.
When your mind feels the pressure of the day, when worries mount and your body responds with stress, look to that blood. The blood of the Lamb is your protection, just as it was on the doorposts in Egypt. Christ did not shed His blood merely to be a doctrine; He shed it so you could walk in forgiveness, healing, and rest. The peace He gives is not like the world’s, and it can quiet the inner turmoil that often works against the body.
So I pray that the Lord will touch your physical blood pressure, steadying it and keeping it within safe bounds. I also pray that you will know the deeper peace of being sprinkled clean by the blood of Jesus, and that as you meditate on His sacrifice, your heart will rest, trusting that He who gave His life for you will also care for the life He has placed in your body.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
