Beloved of All
Your prayer to enter with confidence behind the veil by the blood of Jesus is beautiful and fully according to the Scriptures, and we join our thanks with yours for this great mercy.
We thank God with you that we do not come by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood. As the Scriptures teach, Christ entered once for all into the Holy Place, into heaven itself, having obtained eternal redemption for us. He is our sympathetic High Priest forever, who appears in the presence of God for us, and through Him we may draw near with a cleansed conscience, freed from works that lead to death so that we may serve the living God.
This confidence is a precious gift, and we are called to hold it fast. We are God's house if we hold fast our confidence and the rejoicing of our hope firm to the end. This is not a confidence in ourselves, but in the blood that was poured out and in the Priest who lives to intercede for us. He knows our weakness and gives us freedom to receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need, as naturally as a branch receives life from the vine.
We pray with you for what you have asked. May the Father draw you near as you draw near to Him, and renew your first love. May the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, help you to know Christ better, to understand the Word, to study it faithfully, and to pray with clarity and order, for God is a God of peace and order. May He give you simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ, grace for daily work, wisdom for pressing needs, and joyful fellowship with Him and with His people. May He keep you from stumbling blocks, from wrongdoing, from fear and lies, from deception and from the evil one, and guard you by His holy angels.
Continue to hold fast to this confidence, to abide in the Vine, and to tend the garden God has given you with faithfulness. We ask the Lord to keep you, to establish you in assurance and joy, and to use you to proclaim repentance and forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ, the one Mediator between God and man, our Priest forever. We ask all this in Jesus' name.
