Blessings to overcome Financial debt

Roshan Dsouza

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your forgiveness of all my sins and blessings. I am burdened with a debt and I am being harassed by calls and visits from the banks, which has brought shame to my family. Lord, I ask for your divine intervention and a miracle, so that debt collections agencies close my accounts completely and I will no longer need to make payments, as I have already paid them more than I borrowed. I am also receiving threats from the banks, warning of legal actions and that they will contact my friends and family to harass them. Additionally, I owe money with interest. My desire is to repay everyone. If these people continue to harass me or my contacts, it could jeopardize my new job and leave me unemployed again. Lord I ask for your intervention to stop harassment and repeated calls from every debt collection agency and individual to whom I have to repay to me, my family and friends, as their presence disrupts our peace. Jesus, please help that no one visit my home to whom I have to pay else that will create a huge problem. Please hear my prayer and grant me peace and resolution. Lord, I ask for your miracle and intervention by granting me a personal loan and I get the same without any hassle as it will help me to pay off all my debts. I ask this in Jesus name. Praise the Lord. Amen.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting your burdens to the Lord who is our Provider and Peace. Financial struggles can weigh heavily on the heart, and the harassment you’re facing is not only distressing but also unjust. We rebuke the spirit of fear, shame, and oppression that has come against you and your family in Jesus’ name. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that the chains of debt and harassment are broken, and you will walk in the freedom Christ has purchased for you.

First, we want to commend your desire to repay what you owe, as Scripture teaches, "The wicked borrows and doesn’t pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives" (Psalm 37:21). However, we must address the request for a "miracle" where debts are simply erased without repayment. While God is indeed a God of miracles, He also calls us to stewardship and responsibility. Proverbs 22:7 warns, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." We encourage you to seek wisdom in managing your finances, possibly through biblical financial counseling, budgeting, and even negotiating with creditors for manageable payment plans. The Lord can provide opportunities for you to honor your debts without being crushed by them.

We also rebuke the harassment you’re enduring. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act protects you from abusive or unfair collection practices, and we encourage you to know your rights. However, more importantly, we pray that God would intervene supernaturally to bring peace. "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is of me," says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17). We declare that the threats, calls, and visits from debt collectors will cease, and that your home and family will be a place of peace.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in this situation. Lord, You know the depths of this burden, and You see the weight it has placed on our brother/sister. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity for him/her to earn a living wage, manage finances wisely, and honor the debts owed without being overwhelmed. Provide a way where there seems to be no way, Lord, and let Your peace guard his/her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We pray for favor in the workplace, that this new job would be stable and prosperous, allowing for financial recovery. Give wisdom to negotiate with creditors, and soften their hearts to work with him/her in good faith. We rebuke the spirit of greed and oppression that drives harassment, and we ask that You would bring conviction where there is injustice. Let no one be able to bring false accusations or disrupt the peace You have promised.

Lord, if it is Your will, we ask that You would provide a loan or financial blessing to help consolidate and pay off these debts, but we also pray for discernment to avoid further entanglement in debt. Teach him/her to rely on You as the ultimate Provider, for You know every need before it is spoken (Matthew 6:8). May he/she learn to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We declare that this season of financial struggle will not define him/her, but rather, it will be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Let this trial produce endurance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4). We speak life, restoration, and blessing over his/her finances, family, and future. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to seek godly counsel, whether through a trusted pastor, financial advisor, or biblical financial ministry. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." You do not have to walk this path alone. The Lord is your strength, and He will guide you into financial freedom as you seek Him first.

We hear the weight of this in every line you’ve written, the constant calls, the threats, the fear that all of this could unravel the new job you’ve worked so hard to secure. That kind of relentless pressure doesn’t just drain your finances; it steals your sleep, your peace, your ability to focus on the work in front of you. We’re so sorry you’re facing this.

What stands out to us most is your clear desire to repay everyone. That says something about your character, and we believe God sees it too. The fear that outside harassment could cost you this fresh start at work is real and understandable. One concrete step you might consider is having a quiet, honest conversation with the appropriate person at your new workplace, perhaps someone in human resources or a supervisor you trust. Let them know, confidentially, that you’re managing a personal financial situation and that third parties may reach out in ways that don’t reflect your performance. You don’t need to share details, but a brief heads-up can sometimes protect you from misunderstandings later. It’s not easy to initiate that conversation, but it could help safeguard the stability you’re building.

Beyond that, we simply want to encourage you to keep doing the next right thing. Get through today’s tasks well. Answer what you must, but don’t let every call pull you into despair. You are more than this season of debt, and your value isn’t measured by an account balance. We’re praying you find wise counsel and steady footing.

Jesus, we lift up this person and their family to you now. Quiet the noise of harassment and fear, and carve out space for them to breathe and work in peace. Protect this new job, let it be a place of provision and dignity. Give them wisdom for any difficult conversations ahead, and open doors toward the resolution they need. Hold their shame and replace it with your steady presence. In your name we ask, Amen.

The cry of your heart is for a miracle, a sudden, divine intervention to hush the clamour of creditors and lift the crushing weight of debt. You seek a loan to pay all, that the harassing calls might cease and your family’s peace be restored. This is a sore trial, and I do not diminish it. Yet I would have you consider a deeper miracle, a peace which no bank settlement can confer. You pray for a resolution to your earthly debts, but have you known the discharge of that enormous debt of sin which every soul owes to the law of God? When I learned that my own vast iniquity had been fully discharged by the Lord Jesus Christ, who bore it upon the tree for all believers, then was my heart at peace. That is the wellspring of all lasting quietness.

The peace you need is not first the silencing of collectors, but the calm of a soul stayed upon its God. “You will keep him in perfect peace, peace, peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because he trusts in You.” True peace is not a mere absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ within the storm. The world cries “Peace, peace,” when there is no peace, promising relief by fretting and scheming; but the Lord Jesus speaks, “Your sins are forgiven you; go in peace,” and with that word He imparts a peace which the world can neither give nor take away. Your earthly debts may remain for a season, yet you may possess a peace gleaming with heavenly light even in this midnight of care. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and when that is heard, the loudest threats of men are but the barking of dogs at the edge of the shore.

Do you not see in this testing hour a call to trust the Great Miracle Worker? The power of Christ to deliver does not lie in the one saved, it lies wholly in Jesus Himself. He has but to speak, as He did to the unclean spirit, “Hold your peace, and come out of him,” and the enemy must flee. His word has shaken the kingdom of darkness and loosed the bonds of the oppressed before, and He can loose yours too. But mark this: the miracle He often works first is a miracle of grace within the heart. Manasseh was a loathsome monster of guilt, yet God made him a miracle of mercy. So too your present bitterness may be the very medicine to heal your soul. “Behold, for peace I had great bitterness,” said Hezekiah; his double bitterness worked his peace and health. Those harassing calls, that gnawing anxiety, what if they are sent to drive you from a false peace to the true, from trusting in a human loan to resting upon the promise of Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord Who Will Provide?

Consider the miracle of the loaves in your own life’s story. Has Christ not met you in emergencies before? Is He not grand in emergencies? None of the multitude refused the Lord’s provision that day; will you refuse to trust Him now? You desire to repay everyone, that is right and honourable. But do not imagine that a personal loan will bring you peace if your heart is not anchored in your God. When you are rich and find that riches bring cares, bring those cares to Him. When you are poor, do the same. Have faith, too, about those simple family matters that cause you so much irritation. You have been praying, now commit your cause wholly to God and have faith that He will grant your request, not necessarily as you dictate, but as He knows best. The Lord has endless, boundless peace within Himself, and when you have long enjoyed peace with Him, you may go to Him again and say, “Lord, renew my peace. I am troubled, but You are unmoved, bless me with Your peace.”

Should the Lord see fit to grant you a way of discharge, shout hallelujah! But if the trial continues, let the peace of God which passes all understanding mount guard over your heart and mind. Lay hold upon those precious names: Jehovah-Shalom, the Peace-Giving God; Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord Will Provide; Jehovah-Shammah, the Lord Who Is There Where His People Are. Then, though the banks call and the threats multiply, you shall find rest in doing the will of Jesus. This is peace: perfect peace, even by thronging duties pressed. And soon, how soon we cannot tell, earth’s struggles shall cease, and Jesus will call us to heaven’s perfect peace. Until then, let the blood of Jesus whisper its continual calm within your breast.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
