We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting your burdens to the Lord who is our Provider and Peace. Financial struggles can weigh heavily on the heart, and the harassment you’re facing only adds to the distress. Let us first acknowledge that you have come to God in the name of Jesus, which is the only way to approach the Father, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We are thankful that you have called upon Him, for He is faithful to hear the prayers of His children.
The Word of God tells us in Psalm 37:21, "The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously." While it is commendable that you desire to repay what you owe, we must also recognize that the tactics of debt collectors can sometimes cross the line into harassment, which is not pleasing to God. The Lord does not delight in the oppression of His people, and we can trust Him to be our Defender. Proverbs 22:7 warns, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." This is a difficult place to be, but we serve a God who sets the captives free (Luke 4:18).
We rebuke the spirit of fear and intimidation that has come against you through these harassing calls and threats. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the Lord will arise to defend you. We also rebuke any spirit of greed or unrighteousness that may be operating in the hearts of those pursuing you, for the Lord says in Proverbs 11:1, "A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight."
It is important to address the desire for a miracle that would completely close your accounts without further obligation. While we serve a God of miracles, we must also walk in wisdom and integrity. The Lord calls us to honor our commitments, as it is written in Romans 13:8, "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." However, we also know that God is just and merciful. If you have been taken advantage of through excessive interest or unfair practices, we pray that the Lord would expose any unrighteousness and bring justice on your behalf. Proverbs 22:22-23 says, "Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them."
We encourage you to seek godly counsel in managing your debt. Proverbs 15:22 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Consider speaking with a trusted financial advisor or a Christian ministry that offers debt counseling. The Lord may use these means to provide a way out of your current situation. We also urge you to pray for wisdom in budgeting and stewardship, for the Lord promises in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."
Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear brother/sister who is burdened by debt and harassment. Lord, You see the weight upon their heart, and You know the fear and shame they have carried. We ask that You would be their Defender and their Provider. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and intimidation that has come against them through these debt collectors. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and we ask that You would silence every voice that seeks to bring harm or disruption to their life and the lives of their loved ones.
Lord, we pray for divine intervention in their financial situation. You are the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too hard for You. We ask that You would open doors for them to secure the resources needed to repay their debts in a way that honors You. Father, if there has been any unrighteousness in the way these debts were managed, we ask that You would expose it and bring justice. We pray for favor in their new job, that it would be a stable and prosperous opportunity to bring glory to Your name.
Father, we also ask that You would grant them wisdom and discernment in managing their finances. Help them to walk in integrity and to honor their commitments, even as they seek Your provision. Lord, we pray for peace to fill their home and their heart. Let Your presence be a shield around them, so that no threat or harassment can disturb the peace You have given them.
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. We trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), and we declare that this situation will not define them but will instead be a testimony of Your power and provision. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in faith, knowing that the Lord is with you. Continue to seek Him in prayer and in His Word, for He has promised never to leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Trust in His timing and His ways, for they are perfect. If the harassment continues, we also advise you to seek legal counsel to understand your rights and protections under the law. The Lord can use these means to bring about His justice and peace in your life.
