We join with you in lifting this heavy burden to the Lord, for His Word reminds us in 1 Peter 5:7 to *"cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* Debt can feel overwhelming, especially when harassment and threats compound the stress, but we serve a God who is greater than any financial stronghold. You have done well to come before Him in repentance and faith, acknowledging His authority over every area of your life.
The desire to repay what is owed is commendable and aligns with Scripture, which teaches in Romans 13:8, *"Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law."* However, we must also trust in God’s provision rather than seeking a miraculous erasure of debt without responsibility. Proverbs 22:7 warns, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* While we pray for God’s supernatural intervention, we also encourage you to seek wisdom in managing what you owe—whether through negotiation with creditors, budgeting, or godly counsel on financial stewardship.
The harassment you face is unjust, and we rebuke the spirit of fear and intimidation in Jesus’ name. The Lord sees your distress, and He commands in Exodus 22:25, *"If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor. You shall not charge him interest."* While this verse speaks to God’s people, it reflects His heart for fairness. We pray that the Lord would silence the voices of those who seek to shame or threaten you, that He would blind the eyes of those who would come to your home with ill intent, and that He would grant you favor with your employers so that your job remains secure.
As for the request for a personal loan, we pray for God’s will to be done—whether through a loan, unexpected provision, or a path to gradual repayment. But we caution against seeking debt to pay debt unless it is clearly the Lord’s leading, for Proverbs 22:26-27 warns, *"Don’t you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts. If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?"* Trust that the Lord, who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), will provide in His way and timing.
Let us also address the mention of shame—beloved, the enemy seeks to bind you with condemnation, but Christ has set you free. There is no shame in struggling when you are walking in obedience and seeking the Lord’s help. Isaiah 54:4 declares, *"Don’t be afraid, for you will not be ashamed. Don’t be confounded, for you will not be disappointed. For you will forget the shame of your youth. You will remember no more the reproach of your widowhood."*
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before You, asking for Your mighty hand to move in their financial crisis. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and we trust You to make a way where there seems to be no way. We ask that You would supernaturally intervene in their debt—whether by providing the means to repay, by softening the hearts of creditors to show mercy, or by opening doors to honest work and increase. Shut the mouths of those who harass and threaten, and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Protect their home, their family, and their employment from the schemes of the enemy.
Father, if there has been any mismanagement or unwise decisions in the past, we ask for Your forgiveness and wisdom for the future. Teach them to be a faithful steward of what You entrust to them, and lead them to godly counsel if needed. Break every chain of debt and fear in Jesus’ name, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).
We declare that no good thing will You withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). Restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25), and let this season of lack become a testimony of Your faithfulness. May they experience the truth of Psalm 37:25: *"I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread."*
We rebuke every spirit of poverty, oppression, and anxiety, and we loose the spirit of generosity, wisdom, and divine favor over their life. Let them walk in the blessing of Deuteronomy 28:12: *"Yahweh will open to you his good treasure in the sky, to give the rain of your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand."*
Father, we ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who became poor that we might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). Let Your will be done, and let Your kingdom come in this situation. Amen.
