We come before the Father with you in this time of deep financial burden and spiritual distress, lifting your heart’s cry to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. Your humility in seeking God’s forgiveness and intervention is commendable, and we join you in asking for His mercy and wisdom in this situation. The weight of debt and the shame of harassment are heavy, but we know that our God is a God of deliverance, justice, and restoration. Let us first turn to His Word to ground our prayers and responses in His truth.
The Bible reminds us in **Proverbs 22:7**, *"The rich rules over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* This is not to condemn you but to highlight the bondage that debt can bring. Yet, our God is a God who sets captives free! In **Psalm 34:17-19**, we read, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* You are not forgotten, and your pain is seen by Him.
We also recall the words of Jesus in **Matthew 6:31-33**, where He instructs us, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Your focus on seeking God’s Kingdom, even in this trial, is a testament to your faith. However, we must also address the practical and spiritual steps that align with His Word.
First, we encourage you to examine how this debt was incurred. Were there spending habits or financial decisions that did not honor God’s principles of stewardship? **Luke 14:28** warns, *"For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?"* If there were areas of overspending, lack of planning, or reliance on borrowed money without wisdom, we urge you to repent and ask God for wisdom moving forward. This is not to shame you but to align your heart with His will so that this cycle does not repeat.
Second, while you have asked for a miracle to have the debts closed without further payment, we must be cautious in our requests. God is sovereign and can certainly perform miracles, but His Word also teaches us the importance of integrity and responsibility. **Psalm 37:21** says, *"The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously."* If you have genuinely paid more than you borrowed, we pray that God would expose any injustice and bring clarity to the situation. However, if there is still a legitimate debt, we ask God to provide the means for you to repay it honorably, even if it is through a structured plan over time. Ask Him for favor with your creditors, that they may show mercy and work with you fairly.
As for the harassment, we stand with you in rebuking the enemy’s tactics to bring shame and fear into your life. The Bible tells us in **Isaiah 54:17**, *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,” says Yahweh."* We declare that every tongue rising against you in threats or harassment will be silenced by the power of God. We pray that He would place a hedge of protection around you, your family, and your home, that no one would come to bring shame or distress.
Regarding your request for a personal loan to consolidate your debts, we pray for God’s wisdom and discernment. If this is His will, we ask that He would open the right doors and provide favor with lenders who would offer fair terms. However, we also caution you to seek godly counsel before taking on more debt. **Proverbs 22:26-27** warns, *"Don’t be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts. If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?"* Ensure that any new financial commitment is made with wisdom and a clear plan, so as not to fall into a deeper pit.
Lastly, we must address the spiritual aspect of this battle. Debt and financial stress can often be tools the enemy uses to distract us from our faith and our witness. But we are reminded in **2 Corinthians 2:14**, *"Now thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and reveals through us the sweet aroma of his knowledge in every place."* Even in this trial, you can be a testimony of God’s faithfulness. Do not let shame keep you from seeking help or counsel from your church family. There is no shame in struggling, but there is wisdom in seeking support.
Now, let us pray together over this situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with our brother/sister, lifting their burden of debt and harassment to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the stress, the shame, and the fear that has gripped their heart. We ask for Your forgiveness for any financial decisions that were not aligned with Your will, and we pray for wisdom and discipline moving forward.
Father, we ask for Your divine intervention in this financial crisis. If there has been any injustice in the handling of these debts, we pray that You would expose it and bring resolution. Give our brother/sister favor with their creditors, that they may be merciful and willing to work out a fair repayment plan. Lord, if it is Your will, provide a way for these debts to be settled honorably, whether through increased income, unexpected provisions, or wise financial counsel.
We rebuke every spirit of harassment and fear that has come against our brother/sister and their family. Lord, place a hedge of protection around their home, their mind, and their relationships. Let no weapon formed against them prosper. Silence every tongue that rises in threats or shame, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Father, we ask for Your provision in this season. If a personal loan is the right path, we pray for favor and wisdom in securing it. But more than anything, we ask that You would guide them into financial freedom, teaching them to be good stewards of what You provide. Open doors for additional income, Lord, and help them to manage their resources in a way that honors You.
We declare that this situation will not steal their joy or their testimony. Let them rise from this trial with a story of Your faithfulness to share with others. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are their Provider, their Protector, and their Peace.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would surround them with godly counsel—people who can offer wisdom, support, and accountability as they navigate this season. Let them not walk this path alone but be encouraged by the body of Christ.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your timing. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
