Blessings to overcome Financial debt

Roshan Dsouza

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your forgiveness of all my sins and blessings. I am burdened with a debt and I am being harassed by calls and visits from the banks, which has brought shame to my family. Lord, I ask for your divine intervention and a miracle, so that debt collections agencies close my accounts completely and I will no longer need to make payments, as I have already paid them more than I borrowed. I am also receiving threats from the banks, warning of legal actions and that they will contact my friends and family to harass them. Additionally, I owe money with interest. My desire is to repay everyone. If these people continue to harass me or my contacts, it could jeopardize my new job and leave me unemployed again. Lord I ask for your intervention to stop harassment and repeated calls from every debt collection agency and individual to whom I have to repay to me, my family and friends, as their presence disrupts our peace. Jesus, please help that no one visit my home to whom I have to pay else that will create a huge problem. Please hear my prayer and grant me peace and resolution. Lord, I ask for your miracle and intervention by granting me a personal loan and I get the same without any hassle as it will help me to pay off all my debts. I ask this in Jesus name. Praise the Lord. Amen.

We come before the Father with you in agreement, lifting up your burdens and seeking His divine wisdom and provision over this financial storm you are facing. It is clear that this debt has become a heavy weight, not only financially but also emotionally and spiritually, as the harassment from collectors threatens your peace, your family’s dignity, and even your employment. We understand your desire for relief, and we join you in asking the Lord to intervene mightily in this situation. Yet, we must also align our prayers with Scripture, trusting in God’s perfect will and timing rather than seeking an outcome that may not reflect His principles of integrity, responsibility, and stewardship.

The Bible teaches us that we are to owe no one anything except to love one another, for "the borrower is servant to the lender" (Proverbs 22:7, WEB). While we cry out to the Lord for mercy and provision, we also recognize that He calls us to walk in honesty and diligence, even in our financial dealings. Psalm 37:21 says, "The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously." Our prayer is not only for your debts to be resolved but for you to be empowered by God to fulfill your obligations in a way that honors Him. We ask the Lord to provide a path for you to repay what is rightfully owed, whether through a loan, increased income, or another means He ordains. However, we must be cautious in praying for debts to simply "disappear" or for accounts to be closed without just repayment, as this could reflect a desire to avoid responsibility rather than trusting God to provide the means to fulfill it.

We also address the harassment you are facing, which is unjust and oppressive. The Lord sees the affliction of His people and hears their cries. Exodus 22:25-27 warns against oppressing the poor with excessive interest or harsh collection practices: "If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor. You shall not charge him interest. If you take your neighbor’s garment as collateral, you shall restore it to him before the sun goes down, for that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What would he sleep in? It will happen, when he cries to me, that I will hear, for I am gracious." We rebuke these unjust practices in the name of Jesus and ask the Lord to silence the voices of those who seek to shame or threaten you. May He place a hedge of protection around you, your family, and your home, that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We also note your request for a personal loan to consolidate your debts. While this may seem like a practical solution, we urge you to seek the Lord’s wisdom first. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Before taking on new debt, we encourage you to seek godly counsel—perhaps from a financially wise believer or a biblical financial ministry—to ensure this step aligns with God’s will and does not lead to further bondage. The Lord may provide in ways you have not yet considered, such as through unexpected income, the sale of an asset, or the generosity of others. Trust that He is your Provider (Jehovah Jireh) and that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Most importantly, we commend you for beginning your prayer in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Your acknowledgment of sin and request for forgiveness is a beautiful reflection of a repentant heart, and we know that "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, WEB). Cling to this truth as you navigate this trial, and let it remind you that your worth is not found in your financial status but in your identity as a redeemed child of God.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with our brother/sister, lifting up this heavy burden of debt and the oppression that accompanies it. Lord, You are a God of justice, mercy, and provision, and we ask You to intervene in this situation in a way that brings glory to Your name. We pray for supernatural wisdom to be granted, that every decision made would align with Your Word and Your will. Father, we ask that You silence the voices of those who seek to harass and shame, that You would put an end to the threats and restore peace to this home. Let no weapon formed against our brother/sister prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we ask for Your provision—not just for relief, but for the means to repay what is owed in a way that honors You. Open doors that no man can shut, and provide opportunities for income, wise stewardship, or even debt forgiveness where it aligns with Your righteousness. If a loan is part of Your plan, Lord, let it come with favor and without the snare of further bondage. Give discernment to avoid any agreement that would not be pleasing to You.

We also pray for protection over their employment, that this trial would not jeopardize the new job You have provided. Let favor rest upon them in the eyes of their employers, and let no scheme of the enemy prevail against Your purposes for their life.

Father, we rebuked the spirit of fear, shame, and anxiety that has sought to overwhelm our brother/sister. Replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and remind them that You are their Shepherd, that they shall not want (Psalm 23:1). Strengthen their faith to trust in You, even when the path seems uncertain.

We declare Your promises over this situation: that You will supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). May this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may it draw them—and those watching—closer to You.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily through prayer, Scripture, and worship. Let this season be one of drawing nearer to Him, trusting that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Consider fasting as you seek His face, and surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable in both faith and financial stewardship. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He will not abandon you in this. Stand firm, and watch Him move on your behalf.
