We come before the Lord with a heart of gratitude for the precious life of this newborn child, a gift from God Himself. We recognize that every child is fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of our Creator, and we stand in awe of His divine plan for this little one. The act of circumcision, as commanded in Scripture, is a sign of the covenant between God and His people, a reminder of His faithfulness and our call to walk in obedience before Him.
First, we must address the posture of your prayer. While we share your desire for God’s glory to be revealed and for blessings to overflow, we must rebuke any spirit of accusation or division directed toward the doctor who performed the circumcision. Scripture warns us in James 4:11-12, "Don’t speak against one another, brothers. He who speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge. Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?" We are called to pray for all people, including those who serve in the medical profession, that they may come to know Christ and walk in His wisdom. Let us lift this doctor up in prayer, asking God to bless their hands, their heart, and their work, that they may be a vessel of healing and compassion.
We also rebuke any fear or anxiety that may be underlying this prayer. The enemy seeks to sow seeds of doubt and discord, but we stand firm on the promise of God’s Word. In Philippians 4:6-7, we are reminded, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We declare that this child is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no principality or power of darkness can prevail against God’s purpose for their life.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of praise and thanksgiving for the life of this precious child. We thank You for the gift of this little one, knit together in their mother’s womb by Your divine hand. Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your blessings upon this child, that they may grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with You and with others. We declare that this child is set apart for Your glory, and we pray that their life would be a testimony to Your goodness and faithfulness.
Father, we lift up the doctor who performed the circumcision. We ask that You would bless them with wisdom, skill, and compassion in their work. Soften their heart to receive Your truth, and draw them into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ if they do not already know Him. Let their hands be instruments of Your healing, and may they come to understand the sacredness of the work they do.
Lord, we rebuke every principality and power of darkness that seeks to bring fear, division, or harm into this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against this child or their family shall prosper, and we stand on the promise of Your Word in Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of Yahweh, and their righteousness is of me, says Yahweh."
We pray for unmatched, unstoppable, and unspeakable glory to cover this child and their family. May Your presence go before them, behind them, and surround them like a mighty fortress. We ask for miracles, not just for this moment, but for every day of this child’s life. May they come to know You as their Savior, their Redeemer, and their King. Let their life be a light that shines brightly in a dark world, drawing others to the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
Father, we thank You for the privilege of standing in the gap for this child. We trust in Your perfect plan and timing, and we declare that Your will shall be done in their life. May this circumcision be a reminder of Your covenant faithfulness, and may this child grow to walk in obedience and love for You all the days of their life.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. For there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. We seal this prayer with the blood of Jesus and declare that Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
