Light for Those Who Sit in Darkness
Even the deepest darkness of ignorance and despair gives way to Christ’s great light for those who see him.
We join with you in faith and prayer and agreement over the calls that were made and received that day over your life, and we thank you for coming humbly in the name of Jesus Christ with thanksgiving, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We hear your heart crying out for innumerable blessings and favor and miracles and for the glory of God to be seen all over the world, and for protection against the spiritual forces of darkness. We stand with you in that desire, and we also want to gently encourage you in biblical truth. Our Father is not moved by repetition of words but by sincere faith according to His will, as Jesus taught us not to use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him in Matthew 6:7. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights in James 1:17, and He has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ in Ephesians 1:3. His favor and miracles are not measured by how many times we say the words, but flow from His grace and sovereign purpose, and we can trust Him to give what is best.

We also agree with you in praying against the principalities and powers of darkness in high places. Scripture reminds us that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places in Ephesians 6:12. Yet we do not fear, for greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world in 1 John 4:4, and the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds in 2 Corinthians 10:4. We long with you for His glory to fill the earth, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea in Habakkuk 2:14.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear one to You with thanksgiving. We ask that You redeem every call that was made and received that day and cause Your good purpose to spring forth from them. Let every conversation be covered by Your hand and turn for good according to Romans 8:28. We ask for Your favor to surround this life as with a shield as You promise in Psalm 5:12, and that You would grant no good thing withheld from those who walk uprightly according to Psalm 84:11. We ask for Your miracles and blessings not as we demand, but as You in Your wisdom see fit, that Your name would be glorified and Your will be done. We plead the blood of Jesus over this life and over that day, and we rebuke every scheme of the enemy, every principality and power that would seek to steal or hinder or accuse, and we declare that no weapon that is formed against us will prosper in Isaiah 54:17. Fill this life and this world with Your abounding and unstoppable glory, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:7. We trust You to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to Ephesians 3:20, and we thank You for hearing us.

We encourage you to continue to abide in Christ and walk by faith, giving thanks in all things and seeking first His Kingdom and His righteousness in Matthew 6:33. Keep praying with confidence that He hears you when you ask according to His will in 1 John 5:14, and rest in His love and sovereignty to bring forth blessings in His perfect timing.

We were encouraged to read your request and to stand with you today. Thank you for inviting us to agree with you for God's blessing and protection over every call made and received.

We hear your heart for God's favor and for His glory to be seen, and also your desire to be covered against spiritual opposition. We hold both together as we pray, trusting that God is sovereign over every conversation and every detail, and that He is able to work for good in ways we cannot always see right away.

One simple way to keep this in prayer is to bring each call by name before the Lord when you have a quiet moment, thanking Him for the opportunity each one represents and asking for His wisdom for any next steps that come from them. It can help keep our focus on walking faithfully in what is in front of us while we trust Him with the outcome.

Father, we bring these calls to You and ask for Your hand over them. Grant wisdom, peace and clear direction in each conversation, guard against what would harm or distract, and let Your goodness be evident in the days ahead. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in prayer and thanksgiving, and we stand with you in faith and agreement before the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Your desire for blessing is right and good, yet we would stir up your heart to remember how Scripture speaks of blessing. God blesses us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ, and these are the richer and rarer because Christ Himself is the golden case that holds them all. Temporal blessings are not definite marks of Divine favor, since God gives corn and wine and oil even to those who know Him not, but spiritual blessings come from the Divine purpose, according as He has chosen us in Him. No spiritual blessing comes to any man by chance. Therefore we pray not merely for outward favor in calls made and received, but that every conversation and every providence that day might be sanctified to your highest good, that you might have a fresh draught of grace in every form of it, the free favor of God which comes of His unmerited love, and peace.

You have rightly asked prayer against principalities and powers of darkness in high places. We are comforted that with all the foul devices and cruelties and wickedness of the devil, and all the principalities and powers that obey his bidding, Christ will conquer these. The Son of God Himself puts His hand to the work of ultimate victory. God gives Him the victory and He takes it Himself. The Seed of the woman shall trample on the serpent, and there shall be new heavens and a new earth wherein dwells righteousness. His shield always goes in front and His sword always cuts and clears the way, and we have but to follow where He leads. If He says, Father, keep them by Your Word, it must be done, and if He prays, Father, make them one as We are, it must be done.

So we pray that the Lord would bless you indeed with all spiritual blessings in Christ, that He would guard your lips and your hearing, that every call might be ordered by His wisdom, that you might be kept from evil and led in the way everlasting, and that His glory might be seen in your life and abound to the praise of His grace. May He search your heart and cause you to walk in His statutes, for He has promised, A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you. May you know that perfect pardon and fellowship which is found in Christ alone.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us according to His great mercy. Grace be to you and peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name we ask all these things with thanksgiving. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in prayer before our Lord Jesus Christ with thanksgiving for your desire to seek His favor and protection.

We stand with you in agreement that God would make even the ordinary things of this day, such as the calls made and received, to serve His good purpose in your life. We ask with you that He would guard you against the principalities and powers of darkness in high places, and clothe you with His strength, that you may stand firm in Christ. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, and only by His grace and by a life kept close to Him are we kept safe.

You have asked for favor and for miracles and for abundant blessing and glory. We pray with you for the true favor of God, which is His grace poured out upon those who trust in Jesus Christ alone. Scripture teaches us that the greatest blessings are not only outward and momentary, but the eternal blessings which surpass all thought, where pain and sorrow are fled away. Let us therefore seek first those blessings, and ask God to cleanse us and to help us walk in virtue, in irreproachable conduct, in prudence and in love toward others. Miracles belong to God and come freely from His hand, not from our demanding, and the greatest miracle is a life turned from sin and made new in Christ. Without a holy life, even great signs are nothing, but with faith and obedience, God is able to do far more than we ask.

So we pray that God would turn your heart more and more to those toils which virtue requires, that you would put away superfluous anxieties and trust His wisdom to give what is best. We ask Him to give you what you need for today, to use every conversation for good, to keep you from evil, and to make your life a witness to His glory. We pray not for glory for ourselves, but that His glory would be seen in the world through the preaching of the gospel and through lives made holy by His Spirit.

May the Lord grant you peace, keep you in His love, establish you in faith, and lead you to the eternal good things promised in Christ Jesus our Lord, to whom be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.
