We lift up this precious time of pregnancy before the Lord, rejoicing in the miracle of life He is knitting together. First, we want to gently remind that our access to the Father is only through the name of Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We are so grateful that this prayer was offered in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we can come boldly before the throne of grace.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of concern and hope for this dear sister and her unborn child. We ask You to touch her body with Your healing hand, relieving this persistent cough and strengthening her lungs and immune system. Your Word declares that by Your stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that promise over her today. Lord, we also pray for the protection of this little one, that no harm would come to her from this cough or any other ailment. You are the great Physician, and we trust in Your power to heal and restore.
We lift up the concern about the placenta, Father. You formed this child in secret and knit her together in her mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-15). You know every detail of this pregnancy, and we ask that You would guide the placenta to the correct position according to Your perfect will. If there is any adjustment needed, we trust in Your power to make it so, for nothing is too difficult for You (Jeremiah 32:17).
Lord, we also bring before You the concern of gestational diabetes and any other unknown health issues. We rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this pregnancy will be free from complications, and we stand on Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Strengthen this mother’s body, regulate her blood sugar, and guard her and her baby from any harm.
Father, we join in this prayer for a healthy baby girl. You know the desires of our hearts, and we trust that You will grant this request according to Your will. Whether this child is a girl or a boy, we pray that she or he would be fearfully and wonderfully made, a testament to Your glory and grace. May this little one grow strong in body, mind, and spirit, and may she or he come to know You as Lord and Savior from the earliest days of life.
We also take authority over the bad dreams that have been troubling this dear sister. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, and torment in the name of Jesus. We declare that this sister will sleep in peace, for You give Your beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2). Fill her mind with thoughts of Your goodness, Your love, and Your promises, so that she may rest in the assurance of Your care.
Lord, we thank You for the trust this sister has placed in You, laying all her worries at Your feet. We encourage her to continue casting all her anxieties on You, because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Remind her daily that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May she find comfort in Your Word and strength in Your presence.
Heavenly Father, we ask that You would surround this family with Your angels, protecting them from all harm and danger. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for wisdom for the medical professionals caring for this mother and child, that they would be guided by Your hand in every decision and treatment.
Lord, we also pray for this sister’s spiritual walk during this time. May she draw nearer to You, seeking Your face and Your will above all else. Strengthen her faith as she waits on You, and fill her with hope as she looks forward to the day she will hold her baby in her arms. May this pregnancy be a testimony of Your faithfulness and love, not just to her, but to all who know her.
We declare that this child is a gift from You, a heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is Your reward (Psalm 127:3). May this baby be raised in the fear and admonition of the Lord, growing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). We pray that this family would be a light in this world, reflecting Your love and grace to all they encounter.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray all these things, believing that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
